I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the all bench lineups. I'd like to see at least 1 or 2 starters on the floor at all times. We can't play around with these guys especially with Thibs tendency to play guys nearly 48 minutes a game.

I wouldn't do the all bench lineups, but I was noting that I found it interesting that Trae didn't play the full 1st or 3rd quarter.

I actually like that, but I was going to have him brought back sooner than he was.

  2. I thought the rotations being used in game 1 by the Hawks were an interesting change. Felt as if it almost backfired, but it makes sense if you feel confident about your depth IMO to "attempt" this vs a Thibs team and adjust as necessary (Trae, Bogdan, and John can all play 38-40+ minutes if needed). There was a week off, but they're the team that's more likely to run out of gas.

I almost mentioned this last night but decided to keep quiet.

I'm guessing DRose likely starts at some point and the longer that we wait before this adjustment happens, the more helpful it is, because it allows for the Hawks to place Collins on Payton.

  3. If the Hawks can split these first two in MSG, I like them in 6 based off recent play at home.

I don't think a sweep is realistic...either way. Losing 7 in a row to the same team would be very disappointing, and in the case of the Hawks winning, based off what I've seen before (even if it's been with different players and different coaches), I'd be surprised if the Hawks swept.

Heck it's tough to win 4 or 5 in a row generally (although I do not think that last game would have been a loss if Trae didn't sprain his ankle), which is why I'd be looking to get 1 at MSG.

  4. Sarah K. Spencer on Twitter: "Trae Young (right big toe soreness) will be a game-time decision, Nate McMillan says. Bogdan Bogdanovic (left hamstring soreness), Clint Capela (left Achilles soreness), Danilo Gallinari (low back soreness) and Kevin Huerter (left ankle soreness) are out." / Twitter

Hey! Does anything ache for you Trae? We need to know just in case the Knicks win and we decide to pull the plug on the game...

    Right big toe soreness?

    Perfect!

Maybe let him get a few minutes if he wants, but he shouldn't play a lot (and that seems to be the plan).

  5. If this causes serious differences, I will be pretty surprised because Trae doesn't foul bait as much anymore and y'all have said that the refs have gone in the other direction in calling stuff on him (while I've watched a good bit of the season, I don't watch closely enough to be able to fully tell).

Yes, that means he has had an organic season, much to the dismay of the haters haha. Only thing you can really point out is his three point shot has left him (especially lately) but outside of that he's done really well since he came back from the ankle sprain (and he's cut down on the bombs over a full year).

  6. I don't think this series will be easy by all means but yeah, I said earlier that given what happened when these games occur (first two games were before Pierce was fired and this became a much better 4th quarter team, and in the last game, Young was destroying them before he went out), you have to take the season series with a grain of salt.

  7. Looking at the schedule, Miami has a decent shot of being the 5th seed now. All they have to do is beat Milwaukee most likely, and ole' Bud could very well rest his starters.

I think we could handle that matchup but I would be less of a fan of facing them then facing the Knicks.
