  1. Ughhh. I should not have taken Kilpatrick last and picked up another 5. ANY legit big team is going to crush me inside. Hopefully the combo of aminu, illyasova, and favors (all 6'9'' +) will do an adequate job on the glass.
  2. I was just curious. Anyways, with my final pick I wanted to pick up an emergency 1/2/3 kind of player. Unfortunately, Jay stole that one from me in Bembry. So I'll go with the next man on the list, an instant offense type player who will finally get the time to show his skills this season. Final pick is Sean Kilpatrick - G/F Curry / Beverly / Mills Fournier /Matthews / Kilpatrick Aminu / Barton Illyasova / Lyles / D Davis Favors / Turner Rick Carlisle
  3. I'm getting my pick ready to go, but what are the rules on dropping a player on your roster and adding another? Is that allowed, no, end of draft, etc?
  4. I'm going to take Patty Mills. A very solid, smart player who can go off any night and run a team. Steph Currys ankles worry me and having a solid 3 deep at point will get us through a week or two if curry needs to rest. Curry / Beverly / Mills Fournier / Matthews Aminu / Barton Illyasova / Lyles / D. Davis Favors / Turner Go ahead @pimp
  5. As soon as his clock is up,I'm ready to go....unless he takes my guy
  6. I was surprised as well. To me this is my riskiest pick. It was down to him and another rookie for me. The other was probably a safer pick to at least turn into something solid. But I liked Deyonta's already present defensive ability...something my other consideration lacked. I hAve a lot of offense at pf, but really lacked that defensive stopper at the position. I'm also no scout, but he looked to have a pretty fluid mid range shot that should become consistent. In the dynasty draft, he would do well to learn from favors. In real life, I think he is in a great spot learning from Zach and Marc down in Memphis. Any idea who the last one and done to play for coach izzo was?? If you guessed Zach Randolph, pat yourself on the back. I actually think Memphis is the perfect match for this kid.
  7. The hawk fans select Deyonta Davis - PF/ C. We feel very strong about our PG, SG, SF, and C depth, but not so much power forward. We are trippling down on this position (while adding a 3rd C too). This young man's game is very different from our current PFs - defense first. It's not like he is bad offensively. He is just raw. Has shown the potential of a knockdown midrange and post up game. He will be a great high low compliment to either Turner off the bench, or Favors if his game develops as a starter. Excited about this young prospect. As a 3rd stringer, he will not feel the pressure to produce right away. But rather ease in and polish his skills over time. @Alex is on the clock.
  8. Give me the coach that has shown the ability to win the big one. A mastermind of the intricacies of basketball. The coach that has a history of making his players better. The h4wkfans select. Rick Carlisle. @pimp is up
  9. This is a gamble of a pick. I am really changing the dynamic of my team from being one of the biggest teams to a smaller / more all around team. This pick will improve the floor spacing for the starters which will significantly help favors. His efficiency and impact improve when he is the true c and not sharing time with gobert. Also gives me one of the top back up centers in the game (this league). Without further ado... Ersan illyasova - Forward. The guy that is ok at a lot of different things, but is a great shooter and understands the game. Curry / Beverly Fournier / Matthews Aminu / Barton Illyasova / Lyles Favors / Turner I believe Alex is up???
  10. Management is at a crossroad of how we want to construct our team. We will have to look into a couple of options and I'll make the pick in the next hour or 2
  11. AHF. That's the second time you have used that set of rankings to screw me. Can you change your list? Thanks.
  12. Looking at my team I see a ton of talent that will fit well together. One of the biggest pieces missing was someone with that dog mentality. Whose going to bring it every night up or down 30? We need the attitude that is going to take your lunch money, order a cheeseburger with it, and tell you how good it was. Initially we were going another direction, but Steph Curry really made is voice heard on this one... with the next pick, the H4wkfans select... Patrick Beverley - PG Our attitude and backup PG have arrived. Don't forget he's not just a defender anymore. He developed a floater last year and clipped a career high 40% from deep. Curry / Beverley Matthews / fournier Aminu / Barton Favors / Lyles Turner / ??? I didn't look too carefully, so hopefully he wasn't already taken lol.
  13. You are lucky we had a poor shooting night from 3!! Looks like favors struggled keeping up with dray. I may need to look into tweeking my lineup to fit the small ball style.
  14. Ill be brief, but the H4wkfans select Trey Lyles, PF. We feel after a so so rookie season with flashes, Trey is about to take the next big step... for those of you questioning this, please refer to Utah vs Portland this summer league (yes I know , summer league). He is the perfect fit as the first #4 of the bench. Steph Matthews / fournier Aminu / barton Favors / lyles Turner @Alex is up.
  15. AHF on a roll today crushing my dreams. Nice.
  16. Damnit AHF. I wanted Otto Porter to drop. Paul is not impressed.
  17. I really liked danny green. I was actually picking between Barton and him at my pick. Good choice!
  18. With the next pick in the NBA draft....we select Will Barton - SF. At 25 years young, he is one of the most explosive players with a quickly developing overall game. He is a clutch player as he was near the tops in the league in 4th quarter PPG coming off the bench with plenty of daggers along the way (I see you Mr. Rathbun). The versatility of the team is really starting to show itself! We can be a match up nightmare for anyone.... Small: Steph / Mathews / Barton / Aminu / Favors /// Bench: PG / Fournier / SF / PF / Turner Big: Steph / Mathews / Aminu / Favors / Turner /// Bench: PG / Fournier / Barton / PF / C Closers: Steph / Mathews / Barton / Favors / Turner @pimp is now on the clock.
  19. I'm locked, loaded, and ready to go. As long as Alex doesn't screw things up for me.
  20. You would never be hired if that was the competition!! Haha. If you had a solid win loss record. I'd keep you around. I'm not that crazy.
  21. You gotta swing for the fences to hit a home run. I don't mind the gamble. If it doesn't work and you were my gm, you'd be out of a job! But that's why they get paid the big bucks.
  22. His game is based more on iq, his shot, and tenacity. I feel like he should age well in the league. Including a big jump this year being year 2 off the knee surgery. Not to mention being a back court mate with steph is going to take a lot of pressure off of him. The perfect 3rd option.
  23. After working the phone lines tirelessly to move up in the draft to secure a specific player who would fit in seamlessly with the rest of the team, the Volt’s had all but moved on to Plan B, C, and D. However, by some draft miracle, the player we coveted so much in the draft simply fell in our laps. We couldn’t be happier with this pick…. With the 92nd pick in the draft, the Volts select Wesley Matthews – G/F. Coming off of a torn ACL, Wes had a bit of a down year by his standards. He did however still bring the same tenacity, defense, and 3 point shooting we have come to expect throughout his career. Word on the street is his athleticism is making a comeback, and we expect nothing short of a big time bounce back season. As a result of this pick, we have decided to move Fournier to the 6th man role that will provide instant offense off the bench. Matthew’s veteran leadership & play making ability when called upon will be a perfect complement to Steph & Favors to carry the offensive load & lock down the opposition on defense. Depending on how the draft unfolds, there could be even more surprises internally within the rotation. Stay tuned! PG: Curry SG: Matthews / Fournier SF: Aminu PF: Favors C: Turner @Alex is on the clock.
