  2. Unless we pull off some miracle and can work a team over - a la Ainge - I wouldn't want to give up the assets needed to make that jump. No one outside of the top 5 picks would move the needle enough for me to give up a fortune for. I'm ok trading back to the mid 20s tho if we can pick up additional assets this year or next.
  3. We already have 1 guard who is developing but can't shoot. A lot of other players I'd rather have at 31. Pass for me.
  4. More wishful thinking ainge stays stupid enough thinking a future 2 would bring in LeBron James esque players.
  5. I'm moving Thomas, crowder and next years Brooklyn pick for Lopez and butler if i'm Boston. Fultz / butler / brown / horford / Lopez is legit.
  6. I'm not sure I'd agree he is not a starter in the NBA. And his offense is just developing. 4/78 may be a bit lofty, but if we could match bazes contract and get him, I'd do it.I agree, this is a gamble. But one id take for the right price... A couple of comparisons below (to mirotic). 1 year older. WS: 5.8 (3.8) WS/48: .131 (.108) TS%: .601 (.546) VORP: .6 (.4) PER: 13.5 (14.5) Net Rtg: .4 (4.5) I think he is a good player and with more usage people will see that. A guy like mirotic is what he is. A guy like green has more potential (won't be a star) but under bud could develop into a very good player. At a bazemore price tag, id pull the trigger.
  7. Offensively id agree. Defensively it's closer than you think. Go back and watch sap at 26 in the jazz. I'm not talking about a 10+ year vet that has it all figured out. He'll never be Millsap. But parts of his game are similar.
  8. Green will be more money with more potential. Could be sap-lite.
  9. I'll take a stab at this... Draft: Round 1(19): Jonah Bolden. Some may think it's a reach, but at this juncture the new GM is trying to look like a genius and make that underrated draft pick. Tall, handles, and can shoot. Weak competition leaves a lot of question marks. Round 2 (31): Frank Jackson. He is the perfect pick to develop as a backup point guard in Bud's system. Athletic, defensive ability, with a 3 point stroke. Decision making and handles need to improve. He has time to develop based on how the depth chart plays out. Round 2 (60): Traded to Philadelphia _______________________________________-- Trade: Atlanta Trades: Kent Bazemore, 2017 #60, and Cleveland 1st. Philadelphia Trades: Richaun Holmes & Gerald Henderson _______ Roster Moves: 1) Waive Gerald Henderson. Contract not guaranteed.... $1 million hit if waived before 6/30. 2) JaMychal Green (4/78): Big splash... Potential overpay, but we aren't going to spend $30M on Sap nor attract other big name free agents. 3) Jodie Meeks (3/24): 6th man. 4) Irsan Illyasova (2/18) 5) Kris Humphries (3/8) 6) Tim Hardaway Jr (5/70) 7) Jose Calderon (Vet Min) 8) Mike Dunleavy (2/9) Salary cap is tight so may need to get creative. ______ Depth Chart: Shro / Calderon / Delaney / F Jackson (SG Minutes) THJ / Meeks Prince / Bembry / Dunleavy (SG Minutes) J Green / Illyasova / Bolden (SF-C Minutes) Howard / R Holmes / Humphries
  10. I have no interest. If memory serves he is a free agent after next season and he will be paid. Don't want to invest that much money in this guy. He isn't a game changer imo.
  11. Is there a legit rumor on this? I may have missed it
  12. What about baze and our Cleveland pick for Holmes / Bayless? If Embiid is healthy and they don't get rid of okafor... They get 2 assets for 2 backups. And bringing in a veteran presents from a winning culture. Plus bazes contract is up when a few of their big names are so it allows them flexibility when they need it. He would be a great backup of the bench for Simmons or even start at sg so they aren't tempted to draft a guy like monk if fox is available
  13. Frank Jackson at 31 would be a great pickup for a backup point / combo guard. Under the bud system of learning he would be a pretty solid.
  14. I'm going from memory of watching them both play. I could be wrong, but Draymond was a more athletic player in college. I'm not against the guy. Getting a solid role player in the 2nd would be great. Just don't expect some B+ grade starter to come from the pick.
  15. No interest in hartenstein, rabb, that Jeanne guy, or anyone from cuse. Alsojust to poke the bear, zero interest in swanigan before the 35th pick.
  16. Are you Caleb's brother? The dude will carve a niche as a nice role player, but would otherwise be exposed on the defensive end. Draymond was a better athlete coming out. So yes, athleticsim does have a lot to do with production. Caleb out muscles people.
  17. I think I'm going to need some time to decompress from this. bud style. You'll probably catch me on the 6 oclock news tonight
  18. I agree. I think Patton is the flavor of the month. Rebounding translates. He is a 7 footer that didn't impress with rebounding. He will be serviceable at best. I'll pass on Patton unless it's at 31 (bigger bust is going to be that Evans guy out of Texas). With that said. I'm still taking him over swanigan if that is who you are still pushing. Motley all day over either.
  19. I whole heartedly agree with kg and supe. I have 0 interest to move up to 10-14 range. And I also agree Zach will be a top 10 pick by draft night, and I have 0 interest in giving up enough to move that far in the draft. I think a more realistic trade up would be baze and 31 for 27 from Brooklyn which I would do in an instant.

    Bam Adebayo

I'm on the motley, d Mitchell, or bust train for pick 19. I'd prefer motley due to need.
  21. Complely agree on Bullock. He has been injured and just hasn't fit in with the team up there. He could be a low key signing that could fill that dunleavy role we saw this year...with much more potential. 15mpg+ a night.
  22. That is where you and I differ. I came into this thread to say at best he will be dejuan Blair.
  23. Not sure if Philly would bite and would willing to give up these guys but at some point they need help and have to stop waiting for the young guys to develop. Sign and trade... Anchorman for R Holmes/D Saric/J Bayless Why for Philly?... They have a young team that has big time potential. They desparetly need a veteran presence to help lead the team, and sap brings all the intangibles you want a young team to be around They instantly upgrade to one of the best front courts in basketball with Simmons/Sap/Embiid. They unload the often injured backup Jeryd Bayless allowing them to draft a top PG and sign a healthy, veteran backup. I'd take back Gerald Henderson if they wanted to dump that contract to clear cap space. The team could look... Fox / Henderson / Simmons / Sap / Embiid Why Atlanta?.. I'm a huge fan of Holmes after last year when he actually got playing time. Instantly have a legit back up 5 that has shown the ability to stretch the floor (future starter). Saric is the big prize. He may never be a go to scorer, but he and prince could compliment each other nicely. Infuse young talent, even if we do lose in the short term. Also gives us flexibility to draft BPA and not reach for a center. If free agency and the draft worked out in our favor...we could always have something like... Shro / Bayless / Delaney THJ / Bembry / D Bacon Prince / Baze / ??? Saric / Illyasova / J Motley Howard / Holmes / Moose The big question is why would sap do this.
  24. Bring back shelvin mack please. And zaza. I'd like to do anything possible to unload baze. Team automatically gets better.
  25. If his 3 is ever a consistent 40% and he plays within the offense. Wouldn't surprise me to see him a top 5 pg down the road. Big if, but he is still young and has so much potential. Year 2 as a starter will tell a lot. Bold statement, but the potential is there...imo
