  2. Um... "As for the Duke lacrosse team. The only thing I have to say about that is I hope the 3 bastards who raped that girl get the same treatment every night they spend in jail. It's too different a situation to compare it to Hodge." The only thing I have to say about THAT. The "that" applies to the previous sentence, "As for the Duke Lacrosse team." Although, you should have used a comma, the implied statement should be rather obvious to someone out of college and supporting their family. Maybe it wasn't stated explicity, but, come on, your intent was pretty clear, there was nothing general about it. As far as my medication, age, education, experience, family life, and stress: they are none of your business.
  3. Nowhere in your statements did you say that they did rape her??? Here is a quote: "The only thing I have to say about that is I hope the 3 bastards who raped that girl get the same treatment every night they spend in jail. It's too different a situation to compare it to Hodge." Sounds like you said it right there, "the three bastards who raped that girl." Once again, not thinking before speaking. You admit you aren't following the story, then why are you posting your conclusions about the case and wasting everyone's time. As far as the name calling, i referred to your posts as arrogant and ignorant, nowhere did I specifically call you anything derogatory. I didn't mean it as an ad hominem attack, and if it was construed so, i apologize. However, now that you have insulted my sn (btw, an inside joke with some of my friends, not cocky or arrogant in the least), I will go ahead and say it, get off your lazy @$$ and finish those last three years of high school before you post again. Best regards. Oh and here is a link: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=2404002
  4. Innocent until proven guilty. It looks like my suspicions will be confirmed and DNA evidence will clear the lacrosse players. Also, time-stamped photos of the girl already beaten up and wasted before she even arrived at the party will also bolster their defense. Once again Eddielives, you seem to compose your posts with equal parts arrogance and ignorance.
  5. Did you just manage to blame this on Julius Hodge? I am in a state of shock. The guy got shot. This is America, being a pro basketball player doesn't place a curfew on him, or anyone else, for that matter. Get a grip on your ego and think about what you just wrote. The man got shot for crying out loud.
  6. I don't understand where your future is if you don't ship out Al. The two guys with crazy potential both play the 3. In the East I would like to see one of those guys step up to the 4 and create unbelievable mismatches. Making up for their lack of size with athleticism on D and schooling slower 4's. I really like a Joe Johnson/Salim backcourt for the future. You guys gotta go small and try to run teams, out athlete them, Marvin, J Smith throwin down dunks, Salim and JJ pullin up 3's, and Chill hittin the mid range.
  7. New Orleans is in the Western Conference if I am not mistaken. Atlanta has no shot at the playoffs. Only chance is if package Harrington and Childress/J Smith/Marvin Williams for a bonafide big man. PG. JJ SG. Salim Stoudamire SF. Marvin Williams PF. Big Man C. Zaza 6th Man. J Smith
  8. "He was the primary ball handler and decision maker." Sounds what Kobe's role was on the Lakers last year. However, I don't think anyone is going to accuse him of being a PG. Only time will tell if JJ can handle the Point duties.
  9. Hotlanta, while you discuss the ever-expanding, woman-degrading, hip-hop culture your choice of avatars makes you appear to be either incredibly sarcastic, or, more likely, an unbelievable hypocrite. Let's stick to the thoughts and prayers, and leave the rants about the decline in America's youth to people w/ intelligence.
  10. Talented and gifted east: http://proxy.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?id=1963600 super sophs (draft): http://proxy.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story...chad&id=1961423
  11. His rebounds are actually at 8.6 a game. Canidates are James, Duncan, KG, Shaq and Nash. Stoudemire has no chance, because if any Sun gets it it has to be Nash. Nash makes Stoudemire just like Kidd made Martin.
  12. Denver can get this deal done for Kidd WITHOUT the Hawks. Why include them? They said no to Andre Miller, Nene for Kidd, why add Skita for Scalabrine?
  13. I do not consider myself a "hitch hiker," although it is relativly obvious that I do not post here often I do peruse the site and use HS for more than just the Insiders. I am a Heat fan and basketballboards.net is where I post most often. I do appreciate your posting of the Insiders and to brown nose a bit I hope K-Mart takes the Hawk offer and the Nets don't match. Pretty please. Haha.

  15. You guys are flat retarded. No way on Earth the Rockets would do that. Why trade 10 years of Mcgrady and Yao for one or two of Mcgrady and Shaq. By the way McGrady and Shaq isnt a guaranteed title, remember, Detroit just Beat KOBE and Shaq and Malone and Payton.
  16. I think it has already been posted "anonymously," but here you go. ***Tiago Splitter, Sergei Monya, and LaMarcus Aldridge are not on this mock, because I expect each to withdraw*** 1. Orlando Magic – Emeka Okafor, PF, UCONN They understand it is important to take the best player, regardless of position. Now the Magic will look to trade Drew Gooden and/or Juwon Howard. 2. Atlanta Hawks (via Los Angeles Clippers) – Dwight Howard, PF, HS It’s the popular move down in Atlanta. They trade their first-rounder, second-rounder (#35), and next year’s #1 to the Clippers for the hometown hero. The Clippers are content stockpiling talent, and they didn’t need a power forward anyway. 3. Chicago Bulls – Luol Deng, SF, Duke Teams will want to trade up for this pick, but the Bulls would risk losing one of the top SF’s (Deng or Childress) if they moved down. 4. Dallas Mavericks (via Charlotte) -- Martynas Andriuskevicius, C, Lithuania Charlotte trades the #4 pick for Antawn Jamison, the Mavs second-round pick, and cash. This gives Charlotte a North Carolina fan favorite and a reliable 20+ ppg scorer. He’s more ready to contribute than any rookie. Meanwhile, the Mavs get the top center in the draft, and hope that Andriuskevicius develops into the reliable post presence they need. 5. Washington Wizards -- Andris Biedrins, PF, Latvia Word on the street has the Wizards taking Josh Childress, but they’ve taken a small forward in the first round the past two years. Biendrins has the versatility to play center, and he and Kwame Brown will give the Wizards an athletic frontcourt for the future. 6. Los Angeles Clippers – Ben Gordon, G, UCONN He goes from a national championship to the wasteland of the NBA. The Clippers need to start focusing on their backcourt, and Gordon is the best available player. 7. Phoenix Suns – Kosta Perovic, C, Yugoslavia Devin Harris was also a possibility here, but Perovic is a center with a lot of upside, and that’s always hard to pass up. 8. Toronto Raptors – Devin Harris, PG, Wisconsin They’ve needed a top PG for the longest time now. Harris is skilled in every facet of the game, and he should help carry some of the scoring burden. 9. Philadelphia 76ers – Josh Childress, SF, Stanford The Sixers would even consider trading up for him, but he fell right into their laps. An excellent all-around player who should be a great compliment to Iverson. 10. Cleveland Cavaliers – Jameer Nelson, PG, St. Joseph’s Surprise. Nelson has been climbing draft boards all year, and the Cavaliers see him as the perfect fit next to Lebron James in the backcourt. He’s a winner, he comes to play every night, and he’s capable of hitting the open shot when Lebron gets double-teamed. 11. Orlando Magic (via Golden State Warriors) – Shaun Livingston, PG, HS The Warriors trade the #11 pick and Evvan Eschmeyer to the Magic for Drew Gooden. Not only do the Warriors get a good value at PF, but they get rid of some dead weight. Meanwhile, the Magic get one of the top point guards in the draft, who slipped a little on draft day. The only problem is that Livingston may be a little too similar to last year’s #1, Reece Gaines. 12. Seattle Supersonics -- Pavel Podkolzine, C, Russia It’s a huge gamble. Podkolzine could develop into a force, or he could be a complete bust. However, with Luke Ridnour, Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis, and Nick Collison as the teams future at PG, SG, SF, and PF, it’s time to think about C. 13. Portland Trailblazers -- Andre Iguodala, SG, Arizona A player who slipped a little, but he’s a good all-around talent who can play both swing positions. 14. Utah Jazz – Josh Smith, SF, HS They’re getting potentially THE elite athlete of the draft. He could bring a lot of excitement to Utah if he develops into the special player he’s capable of becoming. 15. Boston Celtics – Robert Swift, C, HS The rumor has it that they’ve already given Swift a guarantee. At the very least, Swift has been rising on people’s boards, and he would have been the #1 center available at this position regardless of the guarantee. 16. Utah Jazz – Rafael Araujo, C, BYU The move from Provo to Salt Lake City won’t be far. Araujo is strong, polished, and will immediately help the Jazz at the center position. 17. Atlanta Hawks – Kirk Snyder, SG, Nevada Taking a high schooler like Telfair at this point wasn’t really an option. Three years ago the Bulls proved that taking two high schoolers in the same draft is a fool’s way to improve your team. Snyder is an experienced collegian who should be able to contribute immediately. 18. New Orleans Hornets – J.R. Smith, SG, HS He’s arguably the best shooter in the draft, and he also might be the best athlete. He’ll need time to develop and he’ll need to mature, but in a couple of years he can be the go-to guy on this team. 19. Miami Heat – Peter John Ramos, C, Puerto Rico Not only does this fill a major need, but Ramos should be a popular character in Miami. At least his plane rides home shouldn’t take long. But, in all seriousness, he’s been rising on people’s boards, and he has wonderful size. 20. Denver Nuggets – Luke Jackson, SF, Oregon If he can successfully move to SG, then this was a great pick. Otherwise, it will be tough for him to get 20 minutes a game. But Jackson was the best value on the board at this pick. 21. Utah Jazz – Sebastian Telfair, PG, HS When he declared for the draft, he probably never thought he’d be living in Salt Lake City. But the Jazz couldn’t pass up this opportunity to land an exciting player that will receive instant recognition. He will take time to develop, but he and Josh Smith could develop into a dangerous tandem. 22. New Jersey Nets – Dorell Wright, SF, HS He obviously won’t be expected to contribute right away, but if he can develop into Kittles’ eventual replacement at SG, then the Nets will have two of the most athletic swing players in the game, between Wright and Richard Jefferson. 23. Indiana Pacers (via Portland) – Al Jefferson, PF, HS The Trailblazers trade pick #23 to Indiana for pick #30 and a future first-rounder. They had to sneak ahead of Boston for this one. Jefferson gives the Pacers yet another talented high school-drafted player on their roster, and PF is a position they could stand to improve. Plus, for a team which sometimes lacks scoring, taking a guy who averaged over 40 ppg helps. 24. Boston Celtics -- Damir Omerhodzic, PF, Croatia The two guys who they were rumored to like, Wright and Jefferson, just went off the board. Omerhodzic could develop into the better player, though, and he can play both forward positions. 25. Toronto Raptors (via Boston) – Peja Samardziski, C, Macedonia Boston trades pick #25 to Toronto for next year’s lottery-protected first-rounder. Boston doesn’t see anybody on the board they need to obtain, but the Raptors need a center in the worst way. Hopefully Samardziski will pan-out and let Bosh play PF. 26. Sacramento Kings -- Roko-Leni Ukic, PG, Croatia The Kings have the luxury of taking players who they can develop. Ukic gets strong reviews, but he’ll need to gain weight and gain experience before he can contribute. 27. Los Angeles Lakers – David Harrison, C, Colorado Maybe practicing with Shaq every day can light a fire under him. It’s a given that Shaq will miss time each year due to injuries, and at least this way the Lakers will have another true center on their roster. 28. San Antonio Spurs – Sasha Vujacic, PG, Slovenia It would be great if he could develop into a reliable backup at both PG and SG. This is just another case of the Spurs getting more foreign, and at least Vujacic will have another native Slovenian on the roster in Nesterovic. 29. Minnesota – forfeits pick 30. Portland Trailblazers (via Indiana) -- Anderson Varejão, PF, Brazil He’s not ready to contribute, and even when he develops he’ll still have Zach Randolph in front of him. But he’s a good value this late, he’ll be a reliable backup, and he can even play alongside Randolph when the Blazers go small.
  17. Carlisle shot back saying that the coaches voted for the All-NBA defensive team, not for DPOY. Carlise noted that Artest got the most votes for the All-NBA defensive first team, 8 more than Bowen i believe. Artest deserved both awards. Bowen is the third cheapest (read: cheater) player I have ever seen. Second to John Stockton and Karl Malone.
  18. I am sorry to state the obvious but NONE of the high school players in this draft will have a huge impact. They will put up ok numbers if they get the PT (drafted by a team with no one, i.e. the Hawks). But Howard is compared to Kwame Brown (4.5 and 3.5). Smith is compared to Mcgrady (7 and 4). Smith will be nowhere near Melo, because Melo WENT TO COLLEGE. Howard will not be as good as Bosh because Bosh WENT TO COLLEGE. Don't get me wrong these guys will succeed but they are not gonna be deserving of all star bids like James and Melo were (should of been selected). They will be your typical unpolished guys coming straight out of high school. So Hawks fans, you may get your superstar in Smith or Howard, but he will not be a star in his first year, wait at least one, most likely two, or even three or four and you will have your superstar.
  19. Would much appreciate someone posting the NFL Insider article pertiaing to Oregon State running back Steven Jackson. (Broncos shaking up draft day)It was from Monday. Thanks
  20. Sorry for the delay in my 3rd post of all time. I do not make it a priority to habitually check www.hawksquawk.net to see if anyone replies to my messages. As for my "snarky" comments i prefer the terms "intelligent" and "based in fact", but then again, that's just me. Fitzgerald: Has decent speed, unparalleled hands (once read that he catches bullets (hard thrown passes, for the football ignorant) with one hand without letting them touch the palm of his hand, runs great routes, was only option on a team with a quarterback who could get him the ball, hence the outrageous numbers. lackluster vertical Roy Williams: athlete, fastest of the three, not much to dislike. Except for the toughness, goes out for a jammed finger, the guy is a girl. Outrageously talented, though. Mike Williams: Speed similar to Fitzgeralds: "Smith, Williams' trainer, agrees, saying he expects him to vertical jump between 36 and 38 inches and run in the 4.5s." Strength: not to insult the other williams, and fitz, but this guy is a beast. USC was the only school that wanted him as a receiver, all the other schools were looking at a TE. Mikey put up way better numbers than Roy did, no comparison. My rankings of the big three: Larry Fitz: comparison Jerry Rice, numbers tell the story. Mike Williams: comparison: no comparison, he is like a mix of Plaxico Burress, David Boston, Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. Roy Williams: comparison: Randy Moss, comparison doesnt end on the field, off the field as well, big problem being his lack of toughness, i see fitz and mike as guys who give it all and go ever game no matter what, this isn't so for Roy. Btw: Mike Williams has better hands than Roy Williams. Watch them both play. Mike Williams catches anything thrown in his general direction. 95 catches, 1314 yrds, 16 tds in a spread offense, also a winner unlike the other two. Roy Williams: 70 catches, 1079 yrds, dont give me the QB, had only 64 catches the year before. Mike is a possession and deep threat, roy is more deep threat. If you respond my next post could be a while in coming, so don't wait up. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfldraft/draft04...&id=1771789 (read it)
  21. " gerald I seriously doubt they would go WR and they certainly wouldn't take Mike Williams whose stock is dropping fast mainly due to slow 40 times" I am reading this on March 31st, and unless you are seeing into the future, Mike Williams pro day isn't for another 8 days and no one knows what his 40 yard dash time will be. But, thanks for your "knowledgeable" and insightful reply.
  22. Would it be possible for someone to post NFL Insiders such as Kiper's first round mock projections and such. It would be greatly appreciated.
