  1. http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/5688874 5. Hawks Shelden Williams C/PF Duke The Hawks still need a point guard (we all remember the Chris Paul mistake), but the front office is reportedly looking toward the frontcourt. We've been hearing for weeks that Atlanta loves Williams, one of the best defenders in the college game, and now it's being reported that Shelden has canceled his scheduled workouts for teams picking after No. 5, including the Timberwolves, who pick sixth. Sounds like someone has been made a promise. I would be surprised if the Hawks didnt go for Roy or Marcus Williams over Shelden...
  2. 2 words - Wayne Rooney. England for the title.
  3. Shaq just had a bad game. He will be back and the Heat take game 3.
  4. The Pacers reportedly have discussed a trade with Toronto that would send Jermaine O’Neal to the Raptors for a package that would include the No. 1 pick. The Pacers, according to Mark Murphy, would likely take Adam Morrison. Indiana may also be talking with the Timberwolves about a Jamaal Tinsley-for-Ricky Davis deal. Trading Tinsley and ONeal for Morrison and Ricky Davis? That seems like a bad move to me, and a slamdunk for Toronto who would have an incredible front line in that scenario.
  5. I really hope James White gets drafted - then the Dunk Comp next year could get crazy. His dunks from the free throw line are unbelievable... He is currently projected to go late 2nd round - Maybe San Antonio could use his athleticism...
  6. Al Harrington, Zaza and the #5 for Jamaal Magloire, TJ Ford and the #15 (which could be Sergio Rodriguez) Atlanta addresses a need for a distributing PG and gets a center who has been an all star. Milwaukee move Bogut to start at center with Zaza as a quality back up, they get Al and a great pick. I think this could be good for both teams.
  7. Predictions? Obvious choices are Wade / ONeal or Dirk. Josh Howard could sneak it if the Mavs win. My prediction is the Heat take the title in 6 and Wade takes the trophy.
  8. http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=1327 Morrison knocked down 42 of 50 mid range jumpers and 90 of 110 3's... he can definitely shoot. NBADraft.net currently has him going #1 - I dont see that, but think he will probably go 3 to Charlotte who could use his wing scoring. If he slips to #5 would you like to see Atlanta take him? or would you prefer Brandon Roy?
  9. I think Miami will surprise. They have beaten favourites Detroit with Wade playing sick and looked good all playoffs...
  10. why would Chicago take Brandon Roy over a desperately needed low post scorer... do they know of a trade in the offing?
  11. He came out of nowhere to get draft buzz out of high school a couple of years ago, then he fell off the map. Is he going to get drafted?
  12. He is the sort of player that could fly up the draft on the night. He is projected to go mid second round at the moment. People wondered at the time if he would skip college and go straight from High School as he was so good, and that sort of hype has still stuck to him a little. I think the only question is whether his knees hold out, but I could see him going late first round, maybe to the Lakers.
  13. the 3 years before Nash arrived he averaged just under 20 and 10, and throw in a block and 2 steals a game - I would say he will be alright without Nash... Strange jumper or not, Marion is a great player and I would still be amazed if Phoenix would gamble on a draft pick for him. The draft is littered with players that misfired - and they would have done a great job to draft someone with equal talent - so why take the risk?
  14. The Jerry Krause experiment didnt work. He went for Curry and Chandler and traded Elton Brand. The baby twin towers didnt work out. As we have said the Curry trade has turned it round, and I dont think it will be long before Chandler follows him out the door. His rebounding and blocking are good. But the Bulls are paying top dollar for a guy that averages just over 5 points. Unless he improves this year either to a 10+ rebounds and 3 blocks per game guy (a la Ben Wallace) he has got to improve his offense.
  15. nbadraft.net have him at #11 to Orlando. He is one guy that really divides opinion. Some see him as a Drazen Petrovic type who will take over games with his incredible range. Others say he has little NBA type game and will end up as a Steve Kerr / Voshon Lenard type taking few minutes and coming on to gun some threes before heading back to the bench. To me he seems like a winner. He was superb in college, no question. I think he will fall between the two - not reaching Petrovic, Miller, Stojakovic type heights but certainly providing good production as more of a Dan Majerle type player. I see him going to the Jazz at #14.
  16. Marion for a #2??? That is a terrible trade for Phoenix. Marion is a team leader and does everything on the floor and is a team player. They are fighting for a ring right now, so I just dont see them trading one of their best guys for a project. They need the best team possible for the next 3 years while Nash still has legs and that means Nash, Bell, Marion, Stoudemire and Diaw with Thomas as 6 man. If anything they could try to upgrade at 2 guard, although Bell is a nice fit not needing too many touches and playing good perimeter defense. I do not see this trade going down. For Chicago - no brainer. Pull the trigger and contend for the East next year. They could still rebuild with the Knicks 2007 draft pick. (and dont forget they still have the #16 pick this year and take Rajon Rondo or someone like him)
  17. Included in the Curry deal is the option to swap picks next year. It is possible therefore that the Knicks have a similar season to this year and end up with the number 1 pick in the 2007 draft which Chicago could take and the chance to draft Greg Oden. It would be amazing if the Bulls were to make the playoffs two years in a row whilst getting the number 2 and number 1 picks in each year... Also Oden looks unbelievable. I personally think he looks more like a Mutombo than a David Robinson but hey thats pretty good! That trade looks worse and worse for the Knicks...
  18. My vote - Rudy Gay. i think this guy has all the tools to be pretty special.
  19. Pavel Podkolzin had so much hype coming out of the draft a couple of years ago and we have heard virtually nothing since the Mavs drafted him. Does anyone know if he is going to play any time soon?
  20. He dropped 100 points in a high school game, played a year at Memphis, gets chosen #6 in the draft by Cleveland, plays for 3 years and is injured most of the last 2 and then dropped of the face of the earth this year... Is he still playing? It would be interesting to see if he is over his injuries as he would be a cheap pick up for the Hawks at Guard with a ton of potential.
  21. Bryant, Duncan, Garnett, Iverson, Wilkins are in Dave Bing, Nate Thurmond, Dave Cowens, Sam Jones, Dave DeBusschere are out...
  22. Channing Frye is averaging 17 minutes per game on court over his last 5 games. I just dont understand what Larry Brown is doing there. Frye has been one of the few high points of the Knicks season and should be starting at center over Curry. He has the potential to be an all star and carry the team, but he needs court time to gain experience and savvy. Bad move from Brown...
  23. i hope this happens so that we can finally see whether darko is a bust or not. I dont think he will "do a Jermaine O'Neal" but he might get to somewhere near Zaza Pachulia type numbers next year
  24. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_spor...all/4660700.stm It was an evening that answered those people who ask "Is there any basketball in Britain?" Well yes, there is, and, for one night at least, we had multi-tattooed, multi-pierced former NBA rebound-machine Dennis Rodman playing in our league for the Brighton Bears. Tickets were gold dust. Bears coach Nick Nurse reckoned they could have sold 10,000 tickets for Rodman's debut against Guildford on Saturday. They squeezed 1,800 fans, reporters, photographers and cameramen into the Burgess Hill Triangle. Dennis is still a big draw!
  25. Now it seems that the Boozer to the Wolves rumours are dying down after Glen Taylor said they were not trading KG, so the Boozer to the Lakers rumours are starting instead: Sam Smith/Chicago Tribune - One hot rumor more than a year ago was that Utah power forward Carlos Boozer was going to the Lakers. Boozer was criticized last season by team owner Larry Miller, who had signed him to a $68 million deal. He hasn't played this season because of a hamstring injury. Last week there was a note in the Los Angeles Times that Boozer had purchased a 5,600-square-foot home with 10 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, a guest house, elevator, racquetball court and tennis court in L.A. for $8.6 million
