  1. I can't say I wanted Chris Paul, I was actually hoping that the Hawks would trade the pick, because I wasn't really sold on any of the guys projected to go from 2-5, but now I think anyone who says the Hawks made the right move picking Marvin over Paul are just insane. Paul is already a top 10 point guard in the league. Real GM has him no.21 overall in the player rankings right now...Marvin is rated 226...only 205 spots behind Paul...
  2. No I don't want him in Atlanta either, but perhaps the Hawks could be part of a 3 way deal, I think the Pacers might like to have Al back, and the salaries match up, if another team could give us a young point guard, or a young big man for Al, it might be interesting...I like Al a lot and I don't really want to lose him, but the reality is....I don't see Al coming back... not unless the Hawks overpay for him, and since they are already overpaying Joe Johnson I don't think that is a smart move. Plus, it would help to clear out some of this bazillion small forwards mess, I mean at some point they are gonna have to start moving some of these small forwards for a point guard or a big man obviously.

  4. Quote: Are you receiving this error: "Error: Album cover in avatar too incredibly awesome" ? Because that would be true! Not receiving that error, in fact it works now, so all is well... but that is in an awesome album cover, for an awesome album...are you an MBV fan too?
  5. For some reason...when i pull up the home court forum it just wont load, it just goes to a solid white page with the hawksquawk banner at the top, all the other forums load properly, but homecourt will not pull up...please help...
  6. Woodson needs to be fired...as far as I can tell, as a coach he is the most inept that ever stepped onto a court. Please hire someone that can develop talent, and put the right lineups on the floor. I think BK has made some bad choices, for one taking Childress with the 6th overall pick, and then taking Marvin over Chris Paul, both of those were huge mistakes, but I think he needs a little more time.
  7. I'm not sure, but its starting to look like it was mistake not to keep Terry Stotts...
  8. I don't think Woodson was the right choice in the first place. This team is filled with young inexperienced players, not a good idea to bring in an inexperienced head coach. I think this group needs a veteran coach. I think this team has enough talent to win more games than last year, but they need a coach who can maximize the talent, and so far Woodson just doesn't look to be the guy.
  9. Smoove can't dunk on everyone because he can't control the ball long enough to get to the rim, everytime he tries to make a move with the ball he turns it over, he needs to really work on his ballhandling, he needs to forget about that jumpshot for a while and concentrate on getting to the rim, him standing around the perimeter waiting on a jumpshot is a terrible waste of athleticism
  10. Childress and Smoove look absolutely horrible so far Chill looks so slow out there and just weak, slow and weak as hell, I mean its just like he is physically overmatched by everyone, he cant hold onto the ball or finish around the basket, he just is not contributing much of anything so far this year Smoove looks just as bad, he is making all these retarded moves to the basket where he just sort of goes up with no plan and either shoots a bad shot or loses the ball, he isn't putting in enough effort on defense or rebounding either, pretty much all he has going for him right now is his size and crazy athleticism, so why isn't he using it? i mean if he would go out there and crash the boards and hustle, his lack of skill right now could be overlooked, but he isnt even doing that Joe Johnson is as good as i had hoped though, and so is ZaZa...I think ZaZa needs a lot more touches on the offensive end, he seems to be able to score when he gets the ball down low, and has a nice little jumpshot
  11. It seems most people on this board have been impressed with ZaZa so far, I know I have been, but I thought I would look at how he is doing so far compared to the other free agent centers from last season, I know it's only a few games into the season but im bored, and I find this somewhat interesting, heres the stats and ages of the centers talked about last year, so far this year ZaZa Pachulia Age: 21 Points/Rebounds/Blocks: 13/8/1 Sam Dalembert Age: 24 Points/Rebounds/Blocks: 8/7/2 Tyson Chandler Age: 23 Points/Rebounds/Blocks: 8/10/1 Kwame Brown Age: 23 Points/Rebounds/Blocks: 6/5/0 Eddy Curry Age: 23 Points/Rebounds/Blocks: 14/5/1 I would say So far the Hawks got the best player, and for the money, It was far and away the best signing. Kudos to Billy Knight on that one.
  12. Joe Johnson Salim Smoove Al ZaZa Salim is playing great, he is shooting well, driving the ball and dishing off to open teammates, he deserves to start over Chill, When Salim was in the game tonight the Hawks were playing well on offense Josh Smith played much better tonight on the defensive end, and he played more inside on offense instead of hanging out around the perimeter Mike Woodson is just not doing a very good job of maximizing the Hawks talent with the way he is substituting, He needs to go...the Hawks could have won this game tonight if Woodson would have paid more attention to what was working on offense, im sure when he put Lue in the game for Salim he figured it would be better to have a veteran in the game down the stretch, but you have to go with what is working, not what the conventional move is
  13. ZaZa did not even foul him, Randolph lost the ball on the way up for the shot, and the ref just assumed ZaZa hit his arm...that was definitely one of the worst calls I have ever seen, those refs had to have seen that there was no foul on the play when they were watching the replay...they should have ruled time ran out, at least that would have been somewhat fair
  14. yeah i love the fact that he is tall and fast, but soft hands he doesnt have unfortunately....all that speed and height wont do him much good if he cant catch the ball, but hopefully he will work hard to improve, because the size and speed are things you cant teach, hopefully catching the ball will be something he can learn...i just wish the falcons had another no.1 receiver for the time being while he is working that out... I havent seen anything from Roddy White that has impressed me either, of course he hasnt had many oppurtunities either, but one of those 2 guys are going to have to step up because while crumpler and finneran can catch the ball, the falcons arent going to be a truly great team until they have a receiver with some serious speed who can help stretch the field
  15. Quote: I'm starting to like #12. I think he can be a good reciever with work. yes a lot of work, his hands are awful...he really really sucked yesterday, he dropped 3 balls that were all really big for the falcons, one on the deep ball that probably would have been a touchdown, and then 2 on third down that hit him in the hands, you have to catch those, there is just no excuse for dropping balls like that. If he could catch the falcons probably win that game.
  16. Nah that isnt the K-Mart dunk thats the dunk he did from the free throw line...
  17. I don't think the Thrashers had much of a choice anyway, because Heatley asked to be traded...
  18. Quote: Let me get this straight.....You like Darko....but you r not sold on Marvin....good grief. well, its like this...I think Darko can be a solid big man, which is something the Hawks desperately need, trading Al for him wouldn't be so bad because he will probably be gone anyway after the season, he is young and big, and fits what BK is trying to do...I'm not saying i think Darko is going to be a superstar, i just think that would be a good trade for the Hawks, I'm also not saying Marvin is going to suck, im just saying im not sure if Marvin was worth the no.2 pick when other players like Andrew Bynum and Gerald Green could have been taken, and i think both of those guys have more potential than Marvin, and Marvin has proven NOTHING, he has not even been a starter on the college level. Again, im not saying Marvin will suck, all i was saying is i'm not sure if he was worth the no.2 pick, and im not saying Darko is a sure fire superstar, im just saying i think he will be a solid big man, which is worth Al harrington
  19. KB...i hope you are right...i really really really hope you are right, because if you are right about Marvin, he will be one of the biggest superstars in the league. I don't see it, i just don't...but i could be wrong and you could be right, in this case, i hope you are right.
  20. If we got Darko for Al Harrington, i would do be extremely excited, Darko has talent, he showed that against the Hawks last year, that was pretty much the only game in which he got decent minutes, and he produced...I think he is going to be good, and he is a 7 footer, he can play center, espeecially since BK isn't really all that intent on finding a guy that is a prototypical center, Darko has versatility so he should fit in as the kind of C/PF BK is looking for
  21. I dont think he was very solid, i thought he was terrible, that was another bad draft pick, i was so glad when he was no longer on the roster, i was never sure what happened, i was just glad he was gone...
  22. wow he looks to be in much better shape, I think a lot of teams are going to regret letting him fall that far...Green too
  23. Yeah i think Bynum and Green are both going to be really good players, I wanted the Hawks to get both of them before the draft and I still think those were the best players available.
  24. Yeah...and Bynum actually put up much better numbers in the summer league than Marvin did, I guess Marvin was a little hurt and all, but man he was horrible in the summer league.
