Chicago and Miami got hard capped by all of these moves last year. Can someone explain?
Chicago Bulls- Acquired Lonzo Ball from Pelicans via sign-and-trade.
- Acquired DeMar DeRozan from Spurs via sign-and-trade.
- Used non-taxpayer mid-level exception on Alex Caruso.
Miami Heat
- Acquired Kyle Lowry from Raptors via sign-and-trade.
- Used non-taxpayer mid-level exception on P.J. Tucker.
Would seem to me Hawks can make multiple moves still. If you’re going to get hard capped anyway might as well make multiple moves to get it.

This is the second time I've seen this come up recently.
The first time, I think I responded that TS or McM had said something that I'd read or heard that made it clear that the expectation is that Jalen will be part of the rotation next season.
This second time, I went looking for what I read or heard... I'm pretty sure now that it was something heard, not read.
*sigh*
Didn't find it. I'll know it when I hear it again, if I do.
What I did find was something in that vein, but not as concrete... McM in his exit interview, having been asked about Jalen:
"...Really looking forward to him playing Summer League, getting better, and earning a right to play in the rotation."
While this doesn't qualify as establishing the "expectation," it at least establishes an "anticipation" that that's going to happen.
JJ not playing in summer league. He had a surgery. I believe should be ready for the season. Hopefully he gets some run this year.

We don't want them trying to control us like they control the Lakers. If we get Simmons then getting Murray wasn't necessary. Although Simmons playing Center is intriguing, it's not worth the gamble. We have to find another shooter preferably at Power Forward if we keep John or two if John is traded.
If we keep JC and the team as is. Then I’d gamble on TJ Warren with our MLE and hope he’s healthy and can get back to 2019 Warren where he was getting 19 ppg and hitting 40% from deep. He’d replace what we lost in Gallo and play better D

No. Ayton is a BYC player - the Suns can only take back 50% of his new salary plus 125% plus 1000K, on the flip side the Hawks have to take back his full salary.
So if he's making $30 million - that full $30 million counts for Hawks and only $18 million for the Suns.
So at $34 for Ayton we could trade CC at $17 straight up?
But then we’d be way over the tax

Phoenix cannot take back this much salary. They can only take back ~$18 million for Ayton (BYC rules) and Crowder $10 mill for $28 million. JC and CC combined makes $41.7
Sign and trade with Ayton getting $34 plus $10 equals $44 and it works I believe

I can see a three team scenario where John, Clint and picks go out, Ayton and Simmons come back, KD goes to Phoenix along with Clint and Donovan Mitchel and John Collins ends up in Brooklyn with picks.
Getting Ayton and Simmons back would be way to much money coming in. I did see one suggested trade with the Suns that would probably work financially.
JC and CC for Jae Crowder and Ayton.
Basically swapping front courts but as long as Durant is still out there this trade probably won’t happen b/c PHX would probably have to give us a pick also. Idk I might do that trade if it was available.- 1

Gobert got Utah 5 first plus some decent players who could help a contending team. We would take a Beverly or a Beasley. A pick swap and two other guys.
Durant is almost untradeable because any team is going to have to go beyond what Utah just got. Which is unreasonable for any team in the league to do and still have for sure championship roster and no care for the future. Possibly Toronto but idk. 50 mil basically for 4 years of one player and what giving away 7 first if Gobert got 5 and players and crazy. -

As good of as player KD is I kinda don’t want him on my team. Dude has to many burner phones and burner accounts for my liking.

Just a random question if anyone could answer. All these max contracts I understand why Nikola Jokic got more on his max than Booker but why did Zion get more in his max than Booker?? Zion has never been an all star or all NBA and he got 231 and Booker who’s been to three straight all star games and was all NBA this got 224?
Zion has barely played in the NBA that being said if he was on our team we’d have maxed him also but why is he even eligible for super max?Sorry this isn’t about the Hawks but Murray will want max in two years and I’d like to know what that contract might look like also.

Aaron Holiday has five years in the league so the vet minimum should be $2,133,278

Murray will take all of Delons minutes. He's too expensive and too good to be PG#3
I hear you but that’s not it. DJ is starting 2 guard with us. He’ll guard most teams point or whoever is their best 1 through 3 while Trea guards the weakest of one through 3. So for example if we play the sixers… Trae would guard maxie or curry and DJ has to limit Harden. Ect. Ect. It’s depth. And it’s hard for me to see Cooper guarding anyone in the league honestly. I just haven’t seen it.
-
I think we had bird rights on Delon Wright which makes him signing with someone else a little confusing to me? I like Coop but we could’ve signed Delon without cap? So that’s why it’s weird? Can anyone explain?

JC's salary won't work
Bam didn't look like Bam at 20 either
Obviously that’s why you have to add Heurter or Bogi or CC.
The Suns through the media believe they can replace Ayton’s numbers at a lower cost. Thusly CC would be the guy plus one of the other two to make the money work. You can’t get without giving and without it hurting a bit. But like I said it takes time to manifest such deals. It could be a massive four team deal to make this happen. -

I’m currently manifesting Ayton to the Hawks for slightly below the Max in a sign and trade for JC or CC. I already manifested the perfect backcourt mate for Trae in DJ. Just give me time…

Ben gaining 50lbs and going to play center
Actually this is the only way I’d like Ben with the Hawks. He could play center better than JC and even possibly Clint. Ben at the four with CC I don’t like b/c then you got 2 who won’t ever even attempt a 3 and one in Murray who needs to improve.
This is why I’m hoping somehow Ayton can still find his way here. People were so high on Ayton coming out of college b/c he’s huge and could hit three’s. He still has untapped potential there and he can create his own shot. And still has room to grow and he’d balance out our inside outside shot creation. But then KD had to ask for a trade. Maybe we can still get in a three team trade where Ayton comes here. Rather have him over Ben.Oh and people been talking ish about Ayton’s D but he rated at the 13th best defensive player in the league last year.

Hmm do we?
Looooooooowerrrrrryyy for 33333 #lowerthanbefore #lowery
I’ll admit I was hyped about the first game and was hungover the next day. My sober rankings might be totally different. Lol
-
I’ll rank futures 1-10 or current whatever
1 Curry no real explanation needed
2 Lillard he’s what we want Trae to be
3 Trae is actually better than Lillard because he has killer in him. Just needs to shoot a higher percentage from three.
4 Ja Morant perineal all star. Definitely going to a big market possibly late in his career after he makes his money and probably winning chip
5 Mitchell might should be higher Denver is legit right now but I think Trae and Ja make teammates better
6 CP3 if legitimately if anyone else ran the Hawks he would’ve not won title in Atlanta but it’d be better
7 Lowery and Miami don’t know yet they’re on a retirement tour
8 Fox plays in Sacramento
9 Irving sticks to his convictions best dribbler in the league. Might not ever see him play again. I believe in my body my choice. I’m a liberal
10 Ball rookie of the year just don’t trust it yet

Cam is gonna make it tough. He’s gonna make it tough with his defense on offensive players, on teams to deal with all our weapons, on keeping him out of the starting lineup, on who’s going to get the minutes, on ownership to who gets paid, on the press who’s voting on defensive teams, and eventually on fans who decide who’s an all star. Cam has all the tools to make it big. He just needed to have the right coaching and people around him and belief in his skills which his aggressive approach suggests he has now. I want to see Cam make things tougher from here on out and I believe he can do that.

Woo! Really nothing to complain about great game except the fans in Atlanta really are embarrassing. For a nationally televised game after we were 2 games from the finals with a super star going against Luka and we all know plus we have the ~deepest team in the league championship contenders and the stands were covered in free tee shirts for the entire first half. Living in Atlanta my whole life I should’ve expected this but it really is disappointing to see. I promise you if this game was in Dallas we would’ve kicked their ass in front of thousands of crazy fans from start to finish. Atlanta fans have to do better but I’ve lived here my whole life NBA fans exist but Hawks fans? The only way to change it is to get the word out the Hawks are for real and fans need to show up show out and do it early. Other than that wow great game!

The Nets are still above the Luxury Tax threshold by at least $30 million and they are also repeat offenders. They have reduced their bill but they still have to pay the tax.
They should pay more. Or if I’m this Pistons or any other team give me something of value way above 4 second round picks! You’re odds on favorite to win a championship and you wouldn’t sign so and so if not for the tax bill… first round picks please!

Which other trades did they stop for 'competitive balance'
They've vetoed trades/deals for trying to circumvent the salary cap rules like Joe Smith in Minny and Juwan Howard to the Heat.
Well that’s probably one I’m thinking of.. Idk. I said I’ll have to do some research but I think it’s obvious in the end what this trade essentially is NJ gets to upgrade without giving up anything on the court or financially and any team in the league who’s going for it would love to add Aldridge and Millsap and still pay no tax. I promise you Milwaukee or any team outside NY or LA is ever sniffing these kinds of deals.

No it wasn't. It was killed because the owner thought it was a bad trade.
I’m going to figure out how to post articles at some point but anyone can look up Chris Paul LA competitive balance on google and figure it out. The … NBA has stepped in and stopped multiple trades on the bias of competitive balance. Financials are competitive also and at some point you’re as a league allowing some people to skirt the rules financially to a detriment to the league. To where yeah it’s NJ winning the title or something went wrong with NJ and they had to many injuries.

Yeah I get that part I guess what I’m saying is why are people so afraid of it. There seems to be ways to finagle the cap and it worked out pretty well for these two teams last year.
