I personally wished Dunn was in the rotation over Lou. Lou has more playmaking but his scoring fuels his playmaking.

I might’ve missed it but I didn’t see anything out of Dunn the few games he played. I think he missed to much time.  Lou was exactly what we needed. That being said he looked like and it’s hard for to say this, like straight garbage tonight. We needed Lou but I and anyone watching could tell he didn’t have it tonight so yeah I would’ve tried Dunn but I could understand Nates hesitation.

Seeing the second unit struggle and leaving them out there when Goodwin and Hill have been warriors for you all season doesn’t make sense to me. So it’s the playoffs and everyone shortens their bench is a bunch of non thinking BS to me.

If you notice, everytime we had a lob, the knicks were bodying Clint's knees.   I feel it's illegal to push your body into a man as soon as he goes up... It's more than just Bully Ball. The trip of Trae is not a basketball play either.

We’re ATL they’re NYC. We all know we have to beat the Knicks the refs and the media. It is what it is.

They were sealing the paint and collapsing on Trae.  They let us have wide open 3 after wide open 3.  We just have to make those shots and punish their scheme.

I’d like to see the stats but I don’t think we’ve thrown it down low to Clint or JC and let them post up this series. From what I understand and observed that’s reverting back to what we were doing before Nate. No post opportunities before Nate after it increased 20-30% now in the playoffs back to nothing. It would be more of indictment on Nate had JC just not gotten the opportunities but he literally deserved every call he got and took himself out of the game. Give it to the bigs let them attempt to score inside then open up the three. But Gallo isn’t going to continue shooting as poorly as he is and I expect a big game from Capela and JC in this series as we go on to win. I just think we blew this one.

He hasn't been paid yet. Do you think a game like this helps Collins in free agency? I don't get this logic. If Collins is the most selfish player ever, he wouldn't intentionally play this poorly because it will hurt his value in free agency. If Collins is a team first player, he still would be frustrated because he knows he is hurting the team. Collins was garbage tonight but this is not common for him. Let's move on and focus on Game 3 because like it or not, he's a big piece to how successful the Hawks have been this season. We are not a better team without him.

No we need him to show he deserves to get paid. Unfortunately tonight he showed why we shouldn’t pay him. We have a huge advantage with our bigs in this series which hasn’t been attacked. It’s not just him honestly couldn’t believe Clint didn’t get a lob until the forth period I think. And it’s not just Trea who usually gives it up to the bigs. It’s a team mentality to get those guys involved. But JC took himself out with playing out of control, leaving his feet and getting into foul trouble.

Why are y'all hating on Collins after one game? This is a 7 game series, and some of y'all are done with him already. He'll be better Friday (after tonight it would be hard for him not to be).

I’m hating on him because of the money he’s asking for. Plain and simple. It is what it is. Can’t play yourself outta a playoff game. Nate should’ve benched him as soon as he saw him looking to foul. Collins smacked the gator aid like it caused him to play totally outta control. SMH.

I was going by his RS season success and his defensive numbers looked great in the RS. In the playoffs, he looked like shit. You gotta admit, JC looking worse than Harrell did in the bubble so far

Harrell had a big game the other night. This is something I said during the offseason. Collins numbers are easier replaced than some people think. He’s not a bad player but when the guy is asking for and probably just might get max money from some desperate team(I’m looking at you NYC). You gotta think I can get a Morris or whoever probably something better I can’t think of right now for the mid level cap exemption and basically replace most of his stats and save 20 million? Come on. How many max players put up a goose egg in the playoffs?

  7. Nate miss managed this one. He’s an actual HC but there’s a reason he was our assistant. Oh and JC wanted outta this game. I’m sitting there telling my wife look JC going to foul again he’s  playing outta control. Boom fouls again. I’m like he’s not done he’s looking to foul out. Boom another foul. If you give that guy max money you’re hamstring this team for years. Could’ve and should’ve won this game.

Naw, year 2 isn't the you have to be at a clearly high level. I didn't even put that expectation on Hunter coming into this year and he was a lot more polished than Cam is. What I wanted to see Cam do was build on the end of year 1 offensively while improving on defense and being a top tier perimeter defender within the league. I've seen the improvement on defense but offensively, the regression to 1st half Cam has been obvious. I do see him playing with more energy on offense and making more plays off the ball than last year but when it comes to the most critical things that hurt him last year early on which is his shot and half court handles, we seen a regression back to that player which is very disappointing.

I am just as disappointed as anyone here but I am not interested in trading someone like Reddish unless the price is right, ie a Beal type but Cam has a ways to go to give be a key piece in a trade like that anyway and I am not interested in trading Cam who is an impact player on one end for anything less than a star at this time regardless if he deserve it or not.

I do think he's fixable, I just don't think he's easily fixable. While his growth spurt has really helped on defense. Its hurt him on offense. He has a lot of improvement areas. Shooting and dribbling is fixable. What he has to get better at is off ball play. Setting screens. Cutting. Off ball movement on a consistent basis.

At least the energy is there. Last year, that was also an issue.

    This is flat out dumb.

I agree I’ve been high on Cam and see his potential and think he’s fixable. But with Hunter out he’s had a prime opportunity to step up and instead he just looks out of control. Turning the ball over and taking bad shots. I would’ve benched him even though we need him. Because tonight he was a negative. He needs to sit and watch and needs a coach specifically for him. Sometimes we forget these guys are super young and the development of 2 3 4 years of college just isn’t there and at this point his trade value is a flyer for most any team.

  9. LP is the problem. Trea getting trapped and full court press basically all game never made any adjustment. Why not try Rondo running point with Trea at 2, DEFENSE I know, just to break the press a bit. Plus if Cam is playing like a scrub play Snell more who started I think 50 games last year for sorry Detroit but damn I don’t think he’d turn it over as much as Cam is currently. Rotations are trash with LP.

  10. Where there’s smoke there’s fire. And there’s been smoke for at least a year and a half. JC will be traded this year if Schlenk has been anything it’s aggressive with trades.
JC is a 6’8” center on his tip toes.
Watching the game against the Hornets I was realizing Hayward was bigger than JC. And as much as people hate on Trae’s D. JC had no chance guarding Gordon or any big. JC is a stat stuffer who can hit threes. But he doesn’t create his own shot.
IMO if you can’t create your own shot and want max money you better be a shut down defender. JC is neither of those.

  11. Knight’s numbers weren’t great tonight but I felt like he earned some minutes, what four games ago or so. Finally got some time. Not great tonight but he’s showing more than Bruno IMO in his 20 NBA minutes. I’m excited to see what Okonguw brings when he’s healthy because Bruno just isn’t really showing me he’s a rotation player in the NBA.

We've tough on Trae this week, he's been struggling mightily. But he was great tonight!. Looked relaxed, not forcing passes or shots. Natural flow to the offense.

Who would’ve guessed it? This team is better when Trae’s the focal point. I’m just messing with you...

-LP is a horrible coach that has no idea what he is doing. HE has no clue about Offense or Defense. His substitutions are just moronic. He has no idea how to draw up a play. He's just awful

-Dre is our best player. I'm loving what I'm seeing from Dre. He just seems like a mature player that doesn't need to be told what to do. I love that

-Trae is NOT A LEADER. I never thought I would say this but he is mentally weak and chicken hearted. Like I said in the thread. If that recent static with John has him plaing like this than that is just pathetic. Sit your behind on the bench if this is how you respond to adversity

Dre is our second best player. Trae is still our best player. Is he being dramatic about being called out, yeah. But we’ve seen other players play poorly out of their preferred roles intentionally in the past to prove points, Harden Lebron Kobe etc. guys who aren’t scared of having a few bad games because... what does anyone think Trae’s not going to average under 25 per at seasons end? Do I wish we had a Popavich to ride his ass on the bench, hell yeah. But the truth is Trae is our best chance at winning and he knows it.
Coaching is our biggest problem and at least we have Nate on the bench, so there’s a chance we could make a change in season, doubtful but possible. JC is all but already on another team. Dude is a fine player but literally he’s the size of most small forwards and can’t defend them or centers. I really think his numbers are replaceable on almost any team.

So he's intentionally playing bad to prove a point? Yes, we aren't as good when Trae plays bad, not exactly surprising. I've criticized his play but no way would Trae be so immature and unprofessional as to actually play bad on purpose. If he did he's not the guy to lead this team. But Trae is a competitor, he wants to win and to play well, your assertions are baseless.

Lebron and Kobe have done this before and it was immature. I said it was petty. But it proves a point. A 30 point a game scorer can become a 10 point a game scorer easy. The point is that doesn’t help win games as much as some other payers on the team might think so. It proves this team is at it’s best when he dominates the ball. Which he will in the near future. And JC will be traded this year but Shelnk will wait for the best offer. But I do think Trea is probably immature but he’s growing and is our future not JC.

A lot of these NBA players are super sensitive KD wanted out of a great situation in GS because the fans  liked Steph better. Which again was widely reported. These guys have egos.

  15. Everyone killing Trea. I honestly think  Trea is probably proving a point to LP and JC for calling him out in the film room. So he’s doing what they want him to do. He’s playing off the ball and letting other players handle the ball to prove a point. Now he is also just turning the ball over and not hitting any shots but I think he’s trying to let them know they’re better off letting him dominate the ball and everyone else around him play D, hit threes and cut to the rim. If they rather have him play off ball then he’s showing them what that looks like.
It might be a bit petty on his part but honestly if it helps getting LP out of here quicker and JC traded for something. It might actually be the best thing he could do.

We have to be worried about Cam. Duke Freshman year. Rookie year. Now second year. Take a look. He is wildly inconsistent. He can have absolute nightmarish games offensively.

I still believe Cam could be the second best player on this team. And I’m way higher on Dre than most. Hunter is the second best player on this team currently, he and you just don’t know yet.

He could be on the injury list instead. Honestly, he's playing through his injuries, unlike the others

Signing Bogi basically meant you definitely couldn’t sign both Huerter and Trea and Collins when the time came. And we wanted to be aggressive. Good job ownership on being aggressive but Collins is not a max player, Huerter is better than Bogi and you have to super max Trea? We need a new head coach quick to figure this out. And I don’t think that’s going to happen.

  18. 1 minute ago, NBASupes said:

Bogi is playing hurt. I am fine with him because at least he's out there

Bogi is a huge disappointment to this point. You can acknowledge that right? I don’t think he’s at all the reason why we’re losing but he’s certainly hasn’t helped except the second game vs Brooklyn.

You have to bench them if they're not making shots, not playing defense, and the deficit grows while they're in the game.

If Bogi was our #1 or #2 offensive player, I would agree with you.  But not in this instance.

Huerter's play has been great in these losses.  Huerter is the new Bogi.

I agree Hueter has stepped his game up. To the point where signing Bogi who has up to this point seemingly was a mistake. Because we’re definitely not going to be able to keep Huerter now probably next year.  That’s a risk I think the owners said they’d be good with to win now. I’ll respect that. The problem is they set up a win now team with a developmental coach: And I’ll respect that if Trea feels like a lot of fans feel they should have a real coach, one that’ll demand his respect. He should get that. And not stay in purgatory with a transitional coach.
