  1. Okay bring it so you really think I think it is 100% guarntee that tanking is going to work this time around? Obviously I cant predict that but what avanue would you have gone to ensure the future is bright? So Jeff Green decides I'm gunna help this team MAYBE compete for a playoff spot rather than go to the cavs? None of those guys play defense so Bud isn't playing them and what do we do in 3 years when all those guys are 35 with no assets? BTW how in hell is this a 50 win team.
  2. So sign a bunch of 28 year old free agents and we will be golden state bet! BTW we tried to trade anyone not named John Collins at the deadline and nobody wanted our crappy roster of bad contracts.
  3. They did that by pulling off a trade for James Harden because OKC fell in love with Jeremy Lamb(who was a lottery pick by the rockets). What guy on the hawks roster was worth a lottery first rounder last year we reached on Tauren anyway so don't give me that.
  4. Okay I said I'm in for a rebuild because I didn't see a path to sustainable success down the road. What do we do hypothetically when Paul is 35 after fighting for the 8 seed after spending our draft capital fighting with aging vets because you have said trade Tuaren and our picks. Fall off with no draft picks?
  5. Where were the 2 best players in the NBA drafted (1 & 2) thank you.
  6. What all-Star caliber player Paul didn't make an all star appearance. Maybe he makes the all star team in the east but you think that Millsap alone at 33 is making this team a truly competitive team? Yes If I'm an NBA owner I'm not paying extra to be mediocre if I don't see a future if thats the question. Kemba is an all star they are trying to win and look at them.
  7. You have no answer to what you would have done to improve the team from last year with letting THJ walk. Owners aren't going to pay a dude 30 million to mentor someone especially when the team lost money the year before.
  8. Not when the MAYBE 8 seed looses the city money. We came out negative after making the playoffs last year with less money on books. so why keep that core together when clearly no one wanted to see Paul decline.
  9. You just realize there was no way to get this team to a top 6 seed in the east this year even spending crazy amounts of money. The Hawks LOST money last year.
  10. yes 107 million on 11 players even if we sign vets on minimums would put us around 115 million 26 million over the cap. Even with our roster last year and making the playoffs the hawks lost money so why pay 26 million over the cap when the team even lost money last season. http://www.businessinsider.com/nba-teams-losing-money-revenue-sharing-2017-9 and if you want to compete you needed Hardaway Jr back so at that 115 number maybe we are the 8th seed but more likely around 10th
  11. So what would you have done to make us a playoff team this year because we bring everyone back in the east we are about 10th way over the cap imo.
  12. I really didn't mind resigning Muscala if we are trying to rebuild since he has been with the team so long simmilar to Nick Collison in OKC. Only issue I had with Illyasova is you had the bird no trade clause so we were unable to deal him at the deadline.
  13. Lmao maybe the visual will help him realize we would have had one of the most expensive payrolls in the NBA had we brought everyone back.
  14. Um that doesn't help our cap situation contracts got to still match. And what exact veterans would push this team to top 2 in the east.
  15. We had no cap space to sign anyone else.
  16. I agree about baze but I kinda think we may have bid against ourselves on Dwight.
  17. The hawks had a negative plus minus last year why would we be significantly better this year had we kept what we had last year?
  18. Sap should have been traded 2 years ago. Schlenk had the option to sign him for 90 million or let him walk. He made the right choice.
  19. So the Bulls tank that netted them Michael Jordan was a failure because they were bad for a few years while he grew up.
  20. What NBA owner would want to pay that to maybe make the playoffs as a mediocre team?
  21. I'd agree but Deandre Jordan and Whiteside didn't shoot above 60% from the line and college and never took shots out of the paint. I'm not saying I want Bamba if we land a top 2 pick or even top 3 but 4- I'd be happy.
  22. You still don't understand Paul was never even offered a contract because the hawks would go over the cap even matching Denver's deal.
  23. I'd take whiteside If he could shoot 31% from 3 in big 12 play on 2 attempts per game. I think that shows he has the ability to shoot from the midrange with more polishing. EDIT I didn't want him at all until I saw him play a couple games in conference play and saw how much he improved this season.
  24. I just see him as a high floor guy without much upside to drive your team to a championship.
  25. 1000% disagree about Bamba. You don't think he can be Hassan Whiteside? Everyone I know that says that about Bamba is looking for flash. He maybe not have the upside Ayton has but he can be a very good Center in the nba that shoots 70+% from the line. He is shooting 68% on 4 attempts per game so shows competence there. May not have the superstar trait but he can be very valuable.
