I can't see it. Bagley has an elite scoring ability. He can score 20 PPG right now with no off-season, SL, nothing. Just out the box can score at a high level. On top of that, he can take pressure off of everyone, sets good screens, rebounds extremely well, has great stamina and can defend in space and on the perimeter. I don't see anything from Jaren that's elite offensively. As for defense, I am impressed by his ability to make reads and play in space. Especially his making reads, almost no freshman I've evaluated as bigs were good at this. It comes with experience and BBIQ. That's a good sign to me.

Bamba isn't the player that JJJ is yet in terms of polish but he's miles more impactful, miles more talented, and miles higher ceiling. I don't even like making the comparison.

Of course, I like the Bridges more. Both have the ability to impact day 1 as well as potential within our system.

Want to make that bet that Bagley will average less than 20 ppg lol. JJJ is a 40% 3pt shooter and 80% from the line and per 40 averaged 5 bpg which is ridiculous your comparison to Williams is lazy.

They just don't want him man. A guy who turned 18 a month before the season isn't raw. As evidenced by his high foul rate :banghead:

To play devils advocate Collins averaged over 7 fpg per 40 as a freshman at Wake Forrest and Bud and co managed to fix that.

JJJ form will not translate. He is lucky he's a big man. He will have more open looks than guards but it will make his mid-range non-existent. That's a major problem and will force teams to force him to shoot knowing they can recover to his shot on PnP. This is a severe limitation. We saw how Al having a good but slow release hurt him unless he was open and even then, Al ability and awareness as a rookie was night and day higher than JJJ or any rookie in this upcoming class. Only a short-sided man would take JJJ over Bamba. You will quickly regret it more than Detroit fans regret passing on Donovan Mitchell for Luke Kennard and Luke is actually a decent rookie but he will likely never be anywhere near as good as Mitchell.

how can you say that when he is nearly an 80% ft shooter and Bamba is below 70%. I'm not sure I see it the same way but I think Bamba has a lower floor than JJJ and thats why I'm taking him.

So you do not have NOTHING to combat what i am saying other than posting videos from internet scouts who might as well be RealGM posters? Man, stop it! STOP IT! Please stop acting like you know this shit man! You don't. You wasting my time.

I agree with KB if Bamba and JJJ are there JJJ would be my pick. JJJ is a way better shooter at the college level than anyone you have compared him to and statistically compares to quality NBA bigs. You can help teach not to foul Collins was worse as a freshman.

  5. Lmao at least it is the magic at 3. I could still see them going Young or Sexton if they go need based in the pick. If the draft falls to where JJJ is there at 4 lets grab him and hope we land 1a next year if we can land Reddish or Barrett. JJJ is by far the safest pick of the prospects hypothetically possibly avaliable imo followed by Bamba. Porter jr is an x factor I'll be interested in definitely a low floor high ceiling pick.

Collins isn't someone you built a franchise around. Neither is JJJ. Both are players who will have us in Detriot land in five years.

I rather take Mikal Bridges but trade back to do it. DAMNIT!

Love Mikal. JJJ is a better shooter than either big in Detroit I don't see the comparison he will be around Myles Turner level an NBA player + but never a star.

Whatever you want to think.  It doesn't change the fact that Boston in fact did not tank their team out, and they also didn't try to "build through the draft".

They won 25 games that’s tanking

Definitely hope you are right.  I think there is a good chance we could end up with JJJ.

This is the best fit imo if we draft 3+ Bagley isn't a good fit next to Collins and Bamba isn't the shooter JJJ is and a good 3pt shooting big creates that spacing Bud likes and Porter jr is risky. I really hope JJJ can handle a higher workload and cut down on fouls.

From the video, here is his rebuilding plan.

    2018 offseason:

    • Draft - 1st pick ( Doncic  - 4th overall ) - 2nd pick ( was a PF, nearest projected PF is Robert Williams from Texas A&M ) - 3rd pick ( a PG - nearest projected PG is Jalen Brunson from Villanova )
    • Traded Plumlee to Utah for a 2022 2nd round pick . . . hell of a move if Utah would agree to that.
    • Traded Baze + #29 pick ( last Hawks pick in the 1st rd  in 2018 ) for Malik Monk and Cody Zeller . . . . Good luck with that.  Only reason would be if Charlotte was truly in WIN NOW mode with Dwight with just 1 yr left on his deal.  Cody's contract is even more ridiculous than Miles Plumlee's, so they may be willing to give up Zeller and a somewhat disappointing Malik Monk, in exchange for Baze.
    • Traded Muscala, Cavanaugh, and Tyler Dorsey . . . for a 2021 1st rd pick from the Knicks ( top 3 protected ) . . . LOL, 2K is ridiculous.  No way in hell that happens.
    • Offseason signings
      • Resigned Dedmon
      • signed Shabazz Napier
      • signed Mike James ( lol . . how old is he now? )
      • signed Mario Hezonja
      • signed Royce O'Neale

Starters:  Schröder - Doncic - Prince - Collins - Dedmon

    Bench:  ( C ) Zellar - ( G ) Hezonja - ( PG ) Napier - ( PF ) R. Williams  . . . Bembry isn't in the rotation, but on the team

    End of Season:

    • Hawks record:  33 - 49 . . . . I think that would be acceptable for the tank crowd, especially since that was still LAST in the East and 6th worst overall ( almost impossible, but OK . . . . top seed was Milwaukee, with only 50 wins )
    • Doncic wins ROY:  17.4 ppg - 5.6 rebs - 5.5 asst
    • All Rookie 1st team:  Young - Doncic - Miles Bridges - Bagley - Ayton
    • NBA Finals:  Golden St ( 1 ) vs Orlando ( 8 ) . . . Warriors Sweep.   LOL @ the 8th seed in the East making the Finals.

I guess this would be acceptable to the tank crew after Year 2 of the rebuild.

    It's 2k it's far from realistic.
