  1. Does anybody have a clip or link of the DJ/Quin spat that they mind sharing?
  2. Agreed. Makes no sense why Quin is practicing one thing, but implementing another during the games. I would really like to hear DJ give more detail on what he was talking about there, although I'm not sure if that will ever be shared in public.
  3. Way too much of an oversimplification. Snyder wants his players to take open threes when the opportunity presents itself. The rationale being is that an open three should be a high value shot... analytics have shown that. It's not worth passing up an open three for a potentially "better" shot, since so many things could change the calculus and ruin the possession... bad pass/dribble for a turnover... allowing the defense to collapse on a drive to the basket for a tough contested two, etc. I don't think Quin would advocate taking a contested three when there's a wide open two available, however. I agree with the philosophy, but I've noticed that sometimes the players will still chuck up a bad three even if they're technically open, because they're either off balanced or not set. Bogi can be real guilty of this. With how pretty his stroke is, there's no way he should ever be under 40%. It's certainly a responsibility of the player to be ready to take an open shot, but there will be times when your momentum will make you off-balance, or you don't quite catch the ball cleanly, etc... in those instances, I think it's a poor choice to chuck up the shot even if you're open for that moment in time. I don't know if Quin is yelling at players if/when this occurs, but I would disagree with him if he is. I would be surprised if that's the case though.
  4. Internal sabotage by Prunty so that he can build that head coaching resume one game at a time. - Outsiders apprentice
  5. I'm with ya on this one, Red. That's my greatest fear about a BB hiring as well. I think TF has done a great job so far, and am really excited to see what another coach can do with the roster he has assembled. I don't mind having BB as coach if that means TF stays and can still do his job, but I'm really worried that Blank is gonna give BB whatever he wants in order to lure him to the team. I have no doubt we'll end up in the mud like the current iteration of the Patriots if BB assumes personnel control. But a BB-coached team with TF as the true GM could end up being really damn strong. **fingers crossed**
  6. My god, send Bey to the G-League already... sheesh
  7. It happened so quick, but it looked to me that Bogi was the only one that had a chance to get between Okoro and the basket, but didn't even make an attempt to do so.... and turning it over on the very next play didn't exactly help either.
  8. Looks like the 2026 pick is top 4 protected.
  9. That's crazy value for an expiring Siakam if that's the case, and looks like Masai was right to hold onto him for as long as he did. Also glad the Hawks didn't end up with him... that's a way heftier price than I would be willing to pay.
  10. Protections on the two Indy picks will determine what the actual value is. But if they're unprotected, then I would agree with you... I would be extremely surprised if that's the case though.
  11. Is the current iteration of the trade at least better than the initial one you guys were hearing? If they made a big stink about so many teams being interested and then end dealing DM for junk, I'm going to be extremely irritated at this FO.
  12. For reals. I'm a much bigger fan of the way AA does business. Feels like the Hawks' FO is all bark and no bite.
  13. I stick up for Quin as much as anybody, but for the life of me I can't understand why he didn't play OO more to close out the 4th or in OT. If the opposing team has a center with size that OO cannot handle, then I get it, but that was not the case with Orlando. OO was playing great, and I agree, could have made life much more difficult on Paolo than JJ having to play soft due to foul trouble.
  14. I can't tell if having a message board villain is annoying or entertaining...
  15. Because it's not about personal stats, but about trying to win the game? There's zero downside of trying to chuck up a shot before the buzzer sounds. To be fair, as KG stated, a lot of players choose not to put that shot up... not just Trae. It's a minor point, but one that annoys the hell out of me.
  16. Anybody know why Trae NEVER throws up the long range shot before the halftime buzzer? I realize it's a super low percentage chance it'll go in, but it's better than the 0% chance of just holding onto the ball and chucking it after the buzzer.
  17. @Sothron did mention talks with NOP not too long ago that were centered around DJ and T.Murphy/H.Jones. Soth, can you blink twice for us is this is the backbone of the deal being discussed now?
  18. A T-wolves fan with intimate knowledge of the 'Squawk? What was his user name? Rothson?
  19. This is damn near unwatchable
  20. I'd rather him land on his face than stick out those hands, lol
  21. The ball needs to touch JJ's hands on every offensive possession, especially when Trae isn't out there... good things happen
  22. JJ better be a Hawk for the next 12 years
  23. I'm gonna trust these numbers a lot more than a 7 game sample size this year. It's fine to defend your favorite players... I think we all do that. The part that really irks me and I believe with many on this board is that you constantly berate Dre's critics even when they show you that he has not contributed to winning basketball by virtually every conceivable metric out there. I appreciate the insider information that you bring and your unique perspective on a lot of topics, but the "you won't ever understand because I'm smarter than you" attitude on a lot of these debates (particularly Dre debates) is really off-putting.
