  1. My receipt: I ain't giving up any of AJ, JJ, or OO for Siakam... I don't think he's worth it. OO is ready for the starting role right now and I think he'll be one of the top 10 centers in the league by the end of the year. JJ will be a very important role player for us by the end of the year, either as the starting 4 or as one of the top bench guys, and will be huge for us in the playoffs. AJ may need a full year to develop, but I think he at least has a 50/50 chance of being a regular rotation player for us this year. I know I'm in the minority, but even if we don't make any additional moves and assuming no catastrophic injuries, I think we'll be making some noise by the end of the year... maybe not as a top 3 seed, but nobody is gonna wanna play us, that's for sure.
  2. Zack knew what the hell he was doing
  3. Think I'm in agreement with Jaybird and Hawkish, and would keep the same 10. To me, there's a clear top 11 worthy of keeping (Capela being the other). I'd really, really hate to expose Capela, but I don't think I could bring myself to exposing any of the other 10. I think Capela would have like a 95% chance of getting selected in the expansion draft, but so would the 10 we're keeping, I think. I was considering keeping Capela and exposing Gueye, just because he has a chance to survive since he did last into the 2nd round of this year's draft and he hasn't had much exposure yet. MAYBE an expansion team would overlook him due to the sheer volume of similar type of players that would be available to them. But I really like his skillset and think he's the perfect developmental big for the Hawks, so ultimately I don't think I would risk exposing him. As others have said, Bogi is a possibility as well, but I think his shooting and overall offensive game is too important for a team trying to compete for a 'chip like the Hawks.
  4. To be fair, that applies to pretty much every skit comedy show.
  5. I believe I recall TyTy being mocked to us in a few drafts last year. Kentucky guards DO have a pretty good track record for panning out in the NBA. Certainly seems like we could do worse for a College Park stash and emergency PG. @NBASupes, do you think he has a better chance of sticking with us, compared to say Tyrese Martin or Trent Forrest?
  6. Lol. I went back and looked at the case against him... in my head, I thought he pleaded "not guilty" and it was still being decided in the courts. But I see now that he pleaded "no contest" a while back. I think everyone deserves a second chance, but man, he's gonna have to prove he's converted to a saint to have any hope of making up for those actions. So yeahhhhh..... neeeeeeevermind
  7. This is going to be a real unpopular pick for obvious reasons, but purely from a basketball standpoint, I've always wanted Miles Bridges. Has a good all-around skill-set and has that dog in him.
  8. I'm with you. I'm really rooting for Portland on this one. It just blows my mind how much power NBA players have in choosing their destination when they're under contract for VERY lucrative amounts. Especially when you see just how powerless NFL players are in comparison (well, outside the top 10-15 QB's at least).
  9. Yeah, that's why I put the "almost" in my statement. He definitely hasn't been nearly as meddlesome as most of us feared.
  10. Lars is a Rockets fan... he's not talking about us.
  11. You don't know how close that (almost) hits home with Hawks fans, lol
  12. Still available. Rumor had it the Rockets were looking to sign him at 2 years/$40M. Considering that's pretty much the exact same contract that Capela has, I'll ask everybody this... would you rather have Capela or Brook Lopez on the same 2 year/$43M contract?
  13. When did the NBA's currency switch to Monopoly money?
  14. They're one or two injuries away from being a complete dumpster fire.
  15. Sounds like a job for the analyst therapist
  16. Bulls signing Jevon and bringing Colby back... does this mean Caruso might be available perhaps? I'd love to see him or Delon on the Hawks
  17. Damn Bird, you called this earlier... myself and I think a few other squawkers thought you were nuts. Apologies!
  18. This is a bannable offense, right?
  19. I think this same picture was discussed in a Braves forum a while back. Turns out the dude is Daniel Lockhart, who is/was a minor league journeyman, including a stop with the Braves farm system. His dad is Keith Lockhart, who played for the Braves back in the 90's. But yeah, I thought he looked familiar too, although I definitely didn't know who Daniel Lockhart was.
  20. Obviously the JC trade had a lot to do with the money. But I really think the main reason he is gone is because we have a better fit waiting in the wings with JJ. If you have a player Y who can be more impactful on your roster making a fraction of the money as player X, then it only makes sense to reallocate funds to address a bigger weakness on your roster. And I know Diesel disagrees with me here, but I saw enough from JJ towards the end of the season that leads me to believe he'll have more of an impact on this team than JC. No, he's not gonna be a 20 ppg type of guy, but he's going to fill up the box score doing everything else... passing, rebounding, blocking shots, getting deflections, etc. Earlier in the season I saw too much nervousness/hesitation in his game to believe that he was ready for significant minutes. You can attribute that to his inexperience, Nate's influence, or both. But by the end of the season, he looked SOOO much more comfortable out there to me. Yes, he was still making some rookie-like mistakes, but most of those mistakes were aggressive in nature, which I can live with. Quin seems to like him too, and I really believe he's going to bring the best out of JJ. I would be willing to bet we'll forget all about Collins halfway through next season.
