False. They didn't get rid of either one... both those players left of their own volition when they hit free agency. When those two left, the Braves turned right around and spent that freed up money by trading for Matt Olsen and Sean Murphy and locking them up to long term deals. And both Riley and Acuna are also locked up to long term deals on team friendly contracts, so neither will be leaving anytime soon. The Braves have one of the best front offices in all of sports.

Lol! I knew that was coming!

With the #15 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, the Hawks select.....

Wait, size matters? Are you saying my girl lied to me? -

I think Capela/#46 for Bertains/#10 is fair, but Dallas fans at RealGM want Capela/#15 instead. They seem to ignore the fact that Bertans is a significantly negative value contract for a one-trick pony, even if that last year is only partially guaranteed. Then again, shame on me for even sniffing around that site. -

I guess there's always the potential of getting hurt in one of those workouts and risking your draft stock plummeting, but I agree with you. I wonder if that's why Cason decided to come work out for the Hawks after all... because there are rumblings that we might trade up. -
I'd jump on that trade, personally. Grab Lively at #10 and our front court is reconstructed in one fell swoop. The value for Dallas and Houston seems about right, but I'm not sure if Washington would go for it either. Maybe tossing our 2nd round pick to the Wizards evens it out a little more.

The dude torched my Jackets for 31 points and 20 boards. Not sure if I hate him because of that, or I want him on the Hawks because of that. -
I agree. If we made a trade with Washington, I figure it might be something along the lines of Collins/Hunter for Porzingis/Wright. In a sense, we'd be mitigating the injury risk for Porzingis by sending out guys who also have injury risk. And I agree with others' assessments... I'd mostly only be willing to make a trade like this if KP signs an extension with us... unless the cost is really cheap. And before people get up in arms about trading Hunter, I'll point out that KP is only 2 years older than Hunter, and has accomplished a helluva lot more than Hunter at this stage in their careers.

I really wish I could find Quin's press conference after this game, because I remember him heaping praise onto Porzingis about how he's impossible to guard. Granted, it may be confirmation bias kicking in because I've wanted KP ever since the 2015 draft, but I remember getting excited that Quin really seemed to love the guy which hopefully means we'll make a run at him. And as JTB alluded to, there's probably no front office outside of Atlanta that loves Hawks players as much as Washington with the infusion of Schlenk. I think there's a real possibility a deal could get done here.

Anybody got receipts on the Joker haters saying he ain't that great because he hasn't won anything? That dude is clearly the best player in the league, and has been for a while now.

Early (but not too early) 2023 off-season wishlist

I wonder if there's any chance we could get Sengun or Eason as the headliner in the deal. At any rate, there are several intriguing young, inexpensive options on the Rockets. I think they certainly make for a good trade partner if they do indeed wind up with Harden. -

Good lord, what an idiot. Thank god we don't have this headache to deal with.
