You guys just don't get it.

This was a salary DUMP.  That is all.   They are not going to use all of the TPE and put them back in the LT...

If anything more salaries will be dropped.

How are we supposed to extend OO and DJM and Bey?

Maybe we get some relief with the timing of Bogi's contract.   But with JJ and AJ to come the long game says that we will be moving more salary either this year or next.

I expect we will trade for a cheap contract.  If not a Rookie or First Year, then somebody who has 1 more year on their deal making under 7.3 Million.

Orlando traded for Jarace Walker.  You ought to hope that a first and 2 2nds can get us Franz M.

    Indy got Walker

I'm asking who would you like as a candidate for it's use?

The candidates with a 23/24 salary in this range and who might reasonably be available looks pretty grim.  Maybe Vuc or BLopez in a SnT?  Hard to see Milwaukee being motivated to do that though.

Maybe the best option is to hold until until the trade deadline in case we need reinforcements at that time.

Yeah ditto please everyone stop with the Gobert thing.

We need a starting 5 that can shoot 3’s protect the rim and has a good FT. Oh wait we have one… I want to see OO get that full time minutes.. let the man go to work. He is ready.

As for the TPE we need to find some defensive vets that teams are willing to shed.. DELON WRIGHT COME ON OVER!!!

I'd love to have Delon back.  I thought he was great for us.  Not sure we have the minutes for him though, and don't think he was real pleased with his limited minutes during his stay here either.

Heads already rolled. Schlenk is gone. Lol.

Wasn't Soth saying that it was Ressler that vetoed the past JC trades, though?  If that Lauri trade was legit, I don't think anybody's head would roll if it was the boss man himself making the call.

  5. And while I'm in agreement with most on here that I am disappointed in the return for JC, the fact is that I'll miss the person a lot more than the player.  I'm admittedly much more bullish on JJ than most, but I'm extremely excited to see the impact he'll have with increased minutes (assuming we don't sign/trade for another starting caliber PF).  I personally felt like JJ was outplaying JC during the second half of the year, so this may even be more of an addition by subtraction type of move.  Not because JC was a bad player, but because we may have an even better player ready to take his spot.  It's the same reason why I wouldn't mind seeing Capela moved (to give OO more minutes), or to a lesser extent, to see Hunter moved (to give AJ more minutes).  The added financial flexibility to make additional moves is icing on the cake.

    3+6=9  9/82= .101   3/.101 = 29....you're both wrong.

Yay now I got to make people feel dumb....okay all better now.

FYI 29 is still 12 less than 41.  But since Trae was out 9 games and we were 38/35 when he played that means if he's played every game we would have been 42.7 and 40.3.....so technically a 13.7 game difference between Trae/noTrae....however the sample size is too small to draw any real conclusions.

Check your 9/82 math again, Camp 😆  Akay was right.

Blazers willing to offer Jerami Grant $150 million, 5 years contract?

Speaking of veterans, Blazers forward Jerami Grant is expected to command $30-plus million annually in free agency, according to several NBA executives who spoke to HoopsHype. Multiple teams with cap space are expected to have interest in Grant, including the Detroit Pistons most notably, and could make a run at Grant, one of the top free agents on the market. Multiple executives around the league believe Grant could command a five-year, $150 million contract from Portland to remain long-term.

Sheesh! And people complain about Collins' contract?

Capela and Hunter, not Collins, are now the most likely hawks to be traded. There are two players in the draft the team really wants to get and a third guy is the well known fall back option.

OKC has inquired about taking Collins for basically nothing but first rounders but the FO is more interested in moving Capela and Hunter.

Do you know which two are their primary targets? I understand if you can't share that info before the draft, but it would be interesting to know whether or not we got our guys once the draft is over.

If we have to take back Bertans contract then it seems fair to me.

I think Capela/#46 for Bertains/#10 is fair, but Dallas fans at RealGM want Capela/#15 instead.  They seem to ignore the fact that Bertans is a significantly negative value contract for a one-trick pony, even if that last year is only partially guaranteed.  Then again, shame on me for even sniffing around that site.

I never understood why people cancel workouts just cause they got a promise from a team.  Unless it's a team that they absolutely are dying to play for, what is the harm in continuing to work out and potentially having a team want you even more than the team that made a promise?  What if that team decides to trade up ahead of the team that promised you?  Now you are getting drafted in a higher slot and making more money.

Seems like common sense to me.

I guess there's always the potential of getting hurt in one of those workouts and risking your draft stock plummeting, but I agree with you.  I wonder if that's why Cason decided to come work out for the Hawks after all... because there are rumblings that we might trade up.

Doing a quick update to this mock because I'm bored today based on the rumors I've seen on here lately. I also don't want to post this trade in the Insider thread to avoid cluttering it even further.

Not sure if Washington goes for this, but if they're hitting the reset button it could make sense. And with it looking like KP is going to opt-in, he's a 1 year rental at this point. Get a FRP for him and start the rebuild.

    PG - Trae / Jevon Carter / Forrest (2-way)
    SG - DJM / Bogi / Mathews
    SF - Hunter / Bey / Griffin
    PF - Porzingis / J. Johnson / 2-way
    C - OO17 / Lively II / Bruno

    Players on my radar:

    • Jalen Brown
    • OG Anunoby
    • Mikal Bridges

Would not hesitate to trade a combo of DJM + Hunter for any one of these players. Just don't necessarily think these 3 guys are on the block...just yet.

I'd jump on that trade, personally.  Grab Lively at #10 and our front court is reconstructed in one fell swoop.  The value for Dallas and Houston seems about right, but I'm not sure if Washington would go for it either.  Maybe tossing our 2nd round pick to the Wizards evens it out a little more.
