Doesn't it feel good to be correct?

I said previously if it’s my choice between the duke trio I take reddish because there is something special with him. He would make the hawks better. I also mentioned bol bol too for the shooting, rebounding, blocking.  Zion is nice but truthfully questions about him will not get answered this year because teams in college will have a hard time defending him.

Zion needs to prove that he can shoot from the perimeter before he goes #1 overall.  Only 7% of his shots are three point shots, and he hits those at just 33%.  Plus, he's a 60% free throw shooter.  This is a skill that he doesn't currently have.  Get excited about the dunks all you want, but his shooting skill is very far behind his athleticism.

Cam Reddish is the guy on that Duke team that Travis Schlenk is going to want.

For once we actually agree on something.

Would you if you could pull it off Take Zion or Barrett at 1 and if we get the Mavs pick at 6 trade 6 + Unprotected Hawks 1st in 2020 + Prince to go up and get the other one of the 2?

    You would then have

    Pg - Young / Vet
    SG - Barrett / Huerter/ 30+ mil to find a SG
    SF - Zion / Barrett /  30 + mil to find a SF
    PF - Collins / Zion / Spellman
    C - Len / Collins / 30+ mil to find a C

It's up to you how you would choose to spend the cap space and on what position depending where you would put Barrett, Zion, and Collins.

I would do it but it would prolly be reddish and Zion. Though I’m not sure Collins or Zion would ride the pine. If Zion can shoot I guess they could play together.

Cam's high school tape shows a lot of driving. I believe coach K wants him to be a spot up shooter and let RJ and Zion drive to the basket.  I believe if any of them will fall out of the top 5 it'll be cam.  Just because he will not show off his complete skill set on a nightly basis.   Cam is almost as big of an anomaly as Zion.  Not many 6-9 guys move like him with his vision and shooting.

For some reason I want Cam or Zion more than RJ.

I also believe one of the big 3 and a big (Bol Bol) would be great and it's the Hawks most likely scenario.

That’s where I’m at I’m high on reddish and think him an trae could be special.  Bol bol would be a project but if he hits my god you would actually realistically ment us the Celtics, Phili and Milwaukee in the same sentence with representing the eastern conference in the finals.  That’s how high I am on reddish.

I think you could take almost any year, and had the draft been held before the NCAA and European seasons actually begun, the top 5 of the draft would have been distinctly different than it ended up being the next June.

That's just the nature of things, of course.

I'm saying Doumbouya possesses some fundamentals at a very young age that make him tantalizing in the same ways that Antetokounmpo did back-when.

I agree with the first part. I just don’t see it yet. Admittly only have  caught like two of his games and some highlights this year that said not impressed. I think the duke trio, little and Johnson will be at the top of everyone’s draft boards now and at the end of the season. Not saying somebody can’t break through but I’d be hard press to find more talented guys.

Goes without saying that there is so much more to see before next June, but if Williamson sets aside the doubts about his shooting, he's an easy choice for #1. He is a Charles Barkley kind of talent.

Don't go to sleep on Doumbouya, though, folks. If we're swinging for the fences, he seems to me to bring one of the highest upsides.

Not inmpressed with doumbouya. If he’s available say we get the mavs pick at 6 then yeah swing for the fences with that pick. Our pick should be one of duke trio, little or Johnson. Though I’m higher on bol bol at the moment and I could make a solid case for him over doumbouya.  In fact  on this day I want reddish, bol bol. Add that to young, Collins,Huerter and spelman and that’s a nice team. And exciting style of play.

I think Minny should trade Butler for him. He's a no maintenance guy who'll play defense.

Have to think that Minnesota will want more. Plus wall, Beal , Dwight, Morris, rivers, and butler would be about as combustible as you can create for a team. It would be entertaining  from that what next moments though.???

Wall's contract next season and beyond is murderous.

I think Porter might be the one to be traded.

I doubt anybody trades for porter while talented his contract was an overpay the minute the nets gave him that offer sheet. Plus I think he gets a trade kicker that could push it to thirty million. I think wall because  and just speculating  Sarver has a problem with meddling and I wonder if he grows impatient and hijacks the front office as he already fired the gm.

They might trend up a tiny bit, they’ve had the toughest SOS in the league so far. But yeah, they’re not making the playoffs.

They can fight for a playoff spot too much talent.  I think brooks bites the dust though. Then I can see some type of move for them in moving one of wall or Beal.

Pierce has trotted out 122 different  lineups, next worst is LA with 93.  Is that bad?

Not really. Finding right combos and youth and injuries. Plus underwhelming veteran play will lead to this. When Anderson gets back I think we see him sort of settle on around 9 or ten guys. But he also has to play to the future and jplay the young guys who anybody with half a brain should know will have struggles and success but be wildly inconsistent. That said bring on reddish.

Thing is this isn’t that all surprising. That’s why I thought the talk of 8 seed this year was crazy. This just shows me they try but they are bad at d then throw the turnovers and you get what we have today. They will get better  but it’ll be a process. Trae has had ups and downs but I haven’t seen anything that truly has me worried yet. He will have to get stronger and learn when to force the issue and when to back off. Huerter has looked better than expected. Not gonna lie I thought he’d do better offensively than defensively. Spellman is decent. Len has been alright though he needs to work on his hands.  Prince is decent though he’s in a slump right now. Collins hasn’t played but long term health is important. Everybody else is what they are. My outlook has not changed. Bembry has surprised but I don’t know if I throw money at him longer if more than a certain number same with prince.

I'm worried.  On paper they seem like they should be fighting for the 8th seed.  This will kind of cement Love's legacy for me.  Is he empty numbers or can he really drive a team to success?

In fairness playing with  osman does insult the intelligence of many. That guy is not good. Hood needs to pick it up as well. I think a better line up would be hill, korver, hood, love and Thompson. Collin, korver and nance as reserves. But I think the narrative and the actual product are miss align as lue wanted to play the veterans over some of the youngins who management wants him to play

The Wizards aren't very inspiring, but they have too much talent and experience to miss out in the East. I'd give the Pacers and Pistons good odds, too.

Detroit if they can stay healthy I think can run with the east top dogs, Miami I like but they may nuke it and foolishly trade josh Richardson for butler. Indiana’s like also.  I think the bulls will be better once they get health.

The Ewing and Webber drafts did a lot to skew the odds towards the worst teams.  If the odds were equal, I think in a good draft year you see some tanking from borderline playoff teams which would be kind of crazy.  “We can lose in the first round or have an equal shot at draft LeBron, Wade and Bosh?  Sounds like an injury to our top two players to me.”

I get where your going never gonna be able to stop tanking. In this day yes that could happen most often though guys wanna win and play.

He gets a lot of hate around here, but he's one of my favorites Hawks players of all time. Yes he was ahead of his time. The same people who rode him over taking threes had no problem with Pero taking threes. Don't @me.

This josh was a flawed player but he still was one of my faves. Never could put it all in ogether but he didn’t exactly coast either.

I think the rebalancing is a bit overstated by some commentators.  It is still the same fundamental system with a good tweak to flatten the odds a bit.  Same dynamic of defaulting to record for draft slot if you don’t land one of the top spots.

I’m more so in a favor of putting all the lottery teams with equal odds but if you barely miss the playoffs you don’t get punished as you could gain the number 1 pick.then once the lottery is settled go by reverse order for the rest of the picks. March and April would be fun as teams would be forced to play as anybody not making the playoffs has the same shot as you.
