I think Pierce is proving he will let the players play. Meaning: if we lose it will not be for lack of effort on the coaching staff or players. We obviously have a lot of growing up to do and young players have to learn how to close out games.

But isn’t he a lame duck coach hired to absorb loses or something. Sorry couldn’t resist. But on another note cedi Oman is bad I mean like terrible for the tank.

Sexton needs to be starting, and move Hill to the 2.   Sexton and Clarkson in the same backcourt is too redundant.

I still like his game but his shot is what he has to work on and what everybody knew he has to work on. I think he’d look better kicking and driving with dare I say it JR and korver. He had no space to operate and Len and co where there to challenge him. I do agree that I thought the Cavs would look hard to move clarkson though.

Except that Boston did not tank.  Brad Stevens made it very clear to them before he was hired that he would not take the job if they were tanking.

I have no respect for anyone who supports tanking.  Bottom line.

Hmm lucky we don’t care. Also Boston sold off any player they could for assets. They tank dude. They just didn’t have to totally suck as they got a sucker to do it for them.

I disagree, and it is based on this simple fact.  No credible coach is going to take a job in an intentional tanking situation where he knows he is going to lose.  No credible coach was going to touch this job with a 10 foot pole this off season.  The Hawks couldn't even get to the table with Etorre Messina, who would have been by far the best choice to replace Mike Budenholzer.

Lol. Stevens too the Boston job even though they jettisoned all talent. They were tanking but had to tank less hard cause they found an idiot to do it for them. This is facts. Your infatuated with bud we get it but no need to say pierce will fail. If Trae becomes passable on defense which is the biggest concern with him then pierce will get credit.

  5. The hawks by designed will not win many games.  I love the optimism but you simply can Rush this. This is only year two. Hawks had season success and some breakthroughs with the same result in the playoffs let this thing grown organically. I’d hate to be Minnesota right now. They will lose any deal for butler yet they can keep him cause of his wish to be elsewhere and his effect on kat and Wiggins who are younger and have been invested in heavily. In honesty they should reach out to Portland to see  kick the tires on McCollum. This would be a win for both teams in my opinion. And the wolves can placate the fan base into a Wiggins, McCollum, KAT future while, butler would be a better fit with Portland.

I like Kawhi and Butler’s games a lot but their decisions are straight pissing me off. If a team gives up a Lauri Markk for you then you can’t have this type of attitude. Man...these kids with their entourage decision makers and their teaming up for championships???? Wtf...

What happened to playing out ur contract like a fcking man (or woman) and playing hard and having some pride in winning it on ur own...

Heres looking at you KD! Cupcake scrub... he will always have an * next to his name in my records. Smh..

    Sorry for the rant. ✌️

KD didn’t force his way out though. But by in at large I agree with the overall premise. In fact he and Lennon get kudos from me cause they haven’t forced there way off teams.

So many fans are sure the Birds will be an automatic win for each and every opponent.  Why?  Have we sold the idea of another tank season so well that there is no hope?  There are some good teams in the east and some more in the west.  But, just remember, Hawk fans, some of these teams aren't that much better than Atlanta!

    :approved:

We are hoarding cap space for AD that is all. The deal is to get young and co ready for his arrival hence we won’t sniff the playoffs. And who are we better than in the east Orlando, Knicks nets. That’s about it.

  8. While I want baze gone for other reasons, I would not entertain taking on Anderson. Let Houston find a third team maybe we take something off them but a future 1st and not taking Anderson have to be on the table.

  9. We aren’t actively tanking but we’re are not avoiding it either. Lin was bought in to mentor and be a backup to trey anybody thinking he is the long term answer is delusional. he may start some games but the team should want him taking his lumps so to speak. This will be Young’s show going forward. Len has been brought in to play the Dedmon role once Dedmon is moved as he’s a serviceable rotation player on a decent contract. We will lose games simply because of youth but Lin and carter can be voices of calm to help the youth on this team ride what will be a roller coaster season for them there will be lows and highs for this team. I don’t think they approach thirty wins but I don’t think we’ll lose 70 plus either.  Also I doubt Schlenk hit on all three picks he prolly hit on one or two a(although hitting on all three would be impressive) so it’s still a work in progress. Also this team is not thinking about playoffs this season. It’s a long play but like someone mentioned earlier if the youth is carrying the team to victories then great ( prolly not likely though) but there development won’t take a backseat to  chasing victories if that makes sense.

Yep.  Schlenk is proving to be an excellent director of scouting.  There is more involved with being a GM than scouting though, and right now, he's beyond terrible at every other aspect of being a GM.

Yeah he should prolly let someone else handle that for a while I have a course in negotiating jthat I offer for 49.95 he can take.

Lin is officially the most expensive 3rd string PG in the NBA. Right next our expensive 3rd string center in Plumlee

Luckily it’s only one year.  The plumlee deal was dumb when it was made.

There is no way he will be on the roster this season.  Just be glad that we won't have to watch another minute of him after this summer league.

And yes no reason he should be invited to camp

Who the hell cares? This is a thread about summer league and you’re the only one in here talking about Dennis. Pages and pages done went by and you pop up like “since we’re talking about Dennis...” Made a whole account around another man that doesn’t even know you exist. Probably have Dennis Schröder bed sheets equipped with the blond patch.

I was born and raised in Atlanta. we can trade everyone from the team and go 0-82, I’ll still be here. I couldn’t care less about what you have to say about my squad. **** riding is not a valid form of transportation

I get the comparison but Biyombo has some of the worse hands......EVER.

Biyombo parlayed one monster other wordly rebounding effort in the playoffs 2 years ago for Charlotte and of course the Magic overpaid him.

That said not interested in the Hawks overpaying for him. It's easy to look good on a team with CP and Harden along with a defined role. Ask him to do a little more on a team with less talent we'll be wondering by he's making so much money next year.

    This.

15 points and 14 rebounds from our guard. His play has been solid in Utah and continuing in Vegas.  Guess if you have to bash a player, pick on those roster fillers that are just taking up space and can’t throw it in the ocean.

So far I only see three players contributing in summer league play and they are Collins, Dorsey and Trae. The others should all go straight to the G league.

Adams when he gets some burn, Spellman and Cleveland would like a word. Now yes the rest you could get rid of but those six have been hooping.
