Coaches who are not interested in leaving do not interview for other jobs.  It's not hard to see that Bud wants to leave.  He was never on board with the tank, which I told you that when the decision to tank was made.

While I like bud. He caused this mess. I would have more respect if he some how stayed to turn it around. But regardless. Schlenk is betting his future so prolly has a vision of the guy he wants leading the sideline. No need to drag it on get a future first and maybe a pick swap for this year.

I think the fact they won 61% of the games Paul started suggests otherwise.  With a healthy Paul, Denver wins 50 and are the #3 seed in the West.

They will be one and done in the playoffs.  The playoffs aren't kind to young players who don't know how to properly play the game.

Ptretty sure Minnesota can make that claim before butler injury they were third or fourth.

Jokic is the most underrated player in the NBA. He is an absolute beast.

He’s a guy I would not be mad if we threw money at this summer, even in our current state. I think he’s a RFA but I’m not sure. However throw something at him it might stick.

They just need to draft the most talented guy on the board.  If he is ready to go, great.  If it takes a year or so ala Embiid or Dirk that is fine too.  Just don't draft a "ready" Shelden Williams or Josh Childress.

That’s more so what I was getting at.

Id lock up KAT/Butler..Wiggins? Meh. Whatever..

Or we could get a player to stash and never see again like the good ole days.lol

Please no more draft and stash that hasn’t exactly worked for us.  They need to focus on guys that they feel can come in right now.

    Under contract for next year

    - Schröder

    - Baze

    - Prince

    - Collins

    - Plumlee

    - Bembry

    - Taylor

    - Dorsey

    - 1st round 2018

    - 1st round 2018

    - 1st round 2018

    That's 11.

    So 4 roster spots left.

Do they keep the 2-way deals?

    - Magette

    - Cavanaugh

    That would be 13.

Too bad they didn't properly assess Quinn Cook's talent.

Him and stone should have been given a fair shake. If nothing else they would ensure we  accomplish the goal that was set upon once other moves were executed. But hopefully Schlenk swings for the fences. A pg, sg or sf and a big.

It is what we TWolves fans have been saying all season. Minnesota has a decent bench. He just won't play them. Tyus Jones only getting 6 minutes was mind boggling to me esp. when you could see the starters really get tired in the 4th.

Thibs notoriously runs with his guys. Run em down. While I can’t say roses, deng, Noah all above average guys that he wrecked. Sad really.

The Nuggets have really sucked since Sap got back. They're probably gonna miss the playoffs. I like the Nuggets too. Like Will the Thrill, Murray, Harris, Jokic and Juancho (and Sap too ofc).

They've gotta be kicking themselves for that Plumlee extension.

They are approaching cap hell. Jokic will enter restricted free agency and if I got cash. I might shoot for the moon with him.

Their trajectory is this.  If they  don’t add veterans that know how to win in the off season, they still aren’t a playoff team in 2019.  This is their 5th year in this rebuild.

Nome of the players they have drafted with these lottery picks are special.

The only thing you are right on is that they will target some veterans.  Who cares if is year 2 or five they are on a better path than that middle build crap.  Currently 31-36  that’s a lot of hopelessness. They got money  they will be fine as long as they don’t do something foolish. And technically this is only Magic’s 1st -2nd year at the helm can’t really throw that other mess on him as that was a totally different regime.

If you recall.  Right after our 60 win year, we were cap tight and we had to make a decision on Paul Millsap and DMC.   Then Millsap got an offer from Orlando.   Then DMC got an offer from Toronto.   We talked Millsap into coming back and he did.

So if you want to talk about our big free agent acquisition, it was Paul Millsap.   Because Ferry messed up on the contracts, we didn't have a way to keep that team in tact... Not to mention enough money to go after other free agents.   The other thing is that we signed Tiago Splitter.   Also after we lost DMC.. all we had was the MLE but Wesley Johnson was interested in being a Hawk at the time.   However, the Clipps put up a better deal than us.

So by being a maxed out team how would you have improved. And if Wesley Johnson is our savior good lord. Deng was run down plus didn’t deng already forgo the hawks to go to Miami. The ferry comments didn’t come up till after. But my point stands you weren’t winning nothing with either one of those guys.

LA Lakers - Four straight lottery appearances, three straight #2 overall picks, 0 playoffs.

Lakers trajectory is ever so higher than ours whether they strike in free agency or not. Plus anybody would be lying if they said that there would not be a slump. Kobe was that franchise and with him getting his money and not being exactly a great teammate there was nobody to carry the torch when his body finally broke down. That said. They could be in the hunt next year if they sell off the assets the end collected. The Lakers were trying your middle build idea giving albatross contracts to guys like deng and mozgov hoping to compete. It back fired big time on them because of simply suck or age and injuries.

Kyrie wasn't there this past offseason (when Gordon signed) or the offseason before that or the offseason before that when they got Horf.

What Boston did was build a team (much like we used to have) and because of that players want to  play for them.   The truth is that players want to go to teams that win... not necessarily to teams with a star.   After the fallout of Shaq and Kobe, not a lot of players wanted to play with Kobe.   But they didn't have to tank to get rings either.

Well for one they went to those teams because they had money and picks to get better. Answer me this legimetly. The hawks won sixty games and didn’t get so much as a sniff from guys in FA. You are right that the Lakers couldn’t sign anybody but they tanked and anybody says otherwise is lying. They then shipped that talent to acquire guys like kuzma and Lopez for Russell. There problem is going to be patience it’ll prolly cost them chasing the big names when they should more so focus on  internal growth from the guys they have and add in guys that more so fit that timeline. Only time will tell. Actually I’ll correct myself the Celtics didn’t have space this year they shipped out guys the acquired in trades to fit Hayward. Schlenk tried to do that but no by bit on bellineli, Dedmon or illysova.not that I could blame them.

Who is the star in Boston?

If you build the team right, players will come.

Kyrie is obviously there star. But what did they accumulate to get kyrie.  And better yet who is coming up big for them two lotto picks in Tatum and brown.  Although not a lotto pick Rozier ( he was acquired in ther short tank season. Marcus smart a lotto pick as well.

How often does a superstar move?   Have you been watching the NBA?  Superstars only move to where other superstars are.  George and Anthony moved to be with Westbrook.   CP3 moved to be with Harden.

So... with that in mind.  Maybe it's not about getting a superstar, maybe it's about using your stars to attract star players.

Like Hayward going to Boston .

    Like Butler going to Minnesota.

Like Cousins going to New Orleans.

However, in none of those cases, do you see tanking playing a major role.  The tankers are the teams that lose those players... like Utah, Chicago, and SacTown.

For one you would have to have a star to attract something not over paid role players.

He's definitely not good, but I knew that would be the case before he was drafted.  Phoenix isn't going to win anything, because they have no winning players on their roster.  Booker is good, not great (too poor defensively to be great, but he's better than Wiggins, who sucks), but they have nothing else around him.  If Booker is your best player, you aren't going to be winning many games.

Lol at least you are consistent. But any ways guess who’s been come along granted he had a rough start to the season. That would be mr Jackson. I would take him now on the hawks over many of our g league additions and some of our vets. Wiggins and booker the previous administration would do back flips over if they were on the hawks.  I’m not worried about either because they are young and have time to figure out the game. Kobe Bryant and others must have really been a buzzkill for you huh.

Phoenix doesn't even have a system.

They have a system. It’s call accumulatingas much talent around booker. It wouldn’t surprise me if they are 10 games better next year when not actively tanking.  Next you’ll go on about Jackson being a bust when the kid is really coming along this year.

Closing the book on Fultz after one season, since there was a problem with his shooting being tinkered with after summer league is absolutely comical. One year never tells your tale on anything.

I'll stand by my thought on Ayton too. Downside is he's a rotational big where his defense keeps him from ever starting on better teams but he's a real asset because of his inside scoring and rebounding as a 6th/7th man, upside is he gets with a team that has a good developmental system and a coach that can really push him and he really becomes something. I fear for him if he goes to especially a Phoenix...

Wins are 3rd in how important they truly are, coaching and development matter more.

Actually Phoenix would be ideal. Chandler while a shell of his former self would be a great defensive mentor for him. For some reason Len never looked like much At all of a future nba player but I contend he shouldn’t have been draft anyways especially as high as he went.

Being one of the better center prospects to come out in a while would put him up there with Karl Anthony Towns, Joel Embiid, and Anthony Davis, and he's not nearly at the level those guys were defensively when they came into the league.  You can hide a bad perimeter defender.  You can't hide a bad post defender.

He may very well end up being Karl Anthony Towns on offense, but he's closer to Jahlil Okafor on defense.

Despite the turmoil that is Arizona’s season kid has lead them to ship in dominat fashion might I add. He will be fine. Maybe the problem is taking suspect players like wings and pgs that offer no d.
