  1. Dedmon basically was too. Save us a million, I guess? Nothing more than a 5th wing at this point.
  2. Well, that was anti-climatic.
  3. He's going to wear 17 for this brother.
  4. I think it's possible because it's a player option. Hayward would have to Opt-in to his deal (and extend) with the C becoming their piece again, whereas Bogdonovic is just a RFA. If he opts-out, we sign him out right if he's coming here when FA opens.
  5. Yes, I knew today but didn't know if it was still 5pm. Thanks @JayBirdHawk
  6. Was the time of Hayward and Celtics' Opt-In/Out extended deadline today ever announced?
  7. Supes said it was. Third team backed out. Apparently they were all in on 2021 Giannis and got cold feet following the Bucks moves.
  8. It seems like every poor grade are based on the misunderstanding that the draft is how we are still getting better. Draft talent and fill needs with FA and Trade, especially at Wing and Guard where we have the talent upside but need stability (vets).
  9. I'll take Hayward, DJJ (cheaper 3/4 of the group), and trade for George Hill. Guards: Trae, Hill, Goodwin Wings: Reddish, Hayward, Hunter, Huerter, DJJ Bigs: Collins, Capela, Okongwu, Fernando (traded Dedmon in deal for Hill)
  10. Good teams have multiple, quality Bigs. Collins/Capela/Okongwu can be that for the Hawks. We aren't trading Collins. The most we would do is not re-sign Skal and trade Dedmon. If he's not used in a S&T for Hayward, Dedmon + OKC pick to NOLA, who now has Lonzo, Bledsoe, Lewis Jr, and Hill makes a lot of sense for both teams.
  11. I really like George Hill as a vet back up next to Trae. Small school guy who's had to work for everything he's gotten and a true pro.
  12. I was doing the same earlier, since most of our wings play multiple positions, it looks more "empty" than it really is. Guards: Trae, Goodwin (Sign 1) Wings: Cam, Hunter, Huerter, Mays (CP), (Sign 2) Bigs: Collins, Capela, Dedmon, Onkongwu, Bruno Hopefully, Hayward is one of the wings. Then the second one should be a guy that's more of a 3/4 tweener like Hunter.
  13. We were either going Fit or BPA in this seen as weaker draft. I've been saying (elsewhere since I'm new here) that Haliburton was the best fit, but Okongwu has the highest ceiling. Schlenk went BPA (and pretty decent fit), let's roll! From day 1, he could be a defensive spark plug and hustle guy off the bench playing primarily minutes at the 5. If he can extend his range, FT% being the indicator he can, he'll be able to play plenty of minutes at the 4 one day too.
  14. A veteran big on what's really an expiring contract. He's an attractive piece.
  15. Yes, he's all over the place he doesn't love basketball, and I've never liked him to begin with (I'll admit there's bias). He's not someone I would want to invest millions into, and I just see Andrew Wiggins 2.0.
  16. Definitely not after that latest interview.
  17. Has anyone that wasn't supposed to be better than us for sure (1-4) made a move? It was always going to be tough, but adding a healthy Kevin, not suspended John, replacing our G-League Center with Capela/Dedmon, and internal growth alone make us competitive with 5-9, and that's without making moves. It was always going to be tough, but not impossible, and that's without even getting through the Draft and FAcy, especially depending on this potential Hayward deal.
  18. If it makes the Hawks better at the end of the day, why not? Hawks fans have a natural bias and hate for Boston (it's well-deserved, F them), but can't let that get in the way of making our team the best it can be. Getting Hayward and a draft asset instead of just Hayward is better for us at the end of the day.
  19. Of the teams that can offer money, we're the best situation for him too.
  20. Hypothetically, all these talks around Mega Trade and Extra Assets from Boston could fall through... if Hayward wants to be here, he can still opt out and sign with Atlanta outright.
  21. Exactly. Drake is from Toronto and some of his exes go to Georgia State, who plays basketball 0.7mi from State Farm. Siakam to Atlanta confirmed.
  22. IF this were to fall through, are you going to share what this potential deal was supposed to be?
  23. Checks out and sounds like a typical Hawks' off-season
  24. Wasn't "this player is a current All-Star" a clue about the mystery "mega" trade player? If it's not Spicy P, it's gotta be Simmons.
  25. That's who I'd take at 13. All in on Maxey.
