    Update:

Hawks are trying to move targeting Cam Whitmore.

Clint is likely to be moved for a mid 1st. Dallas been trying to get him but their refusal to trade 10 without asking for 15 is killing the trade.

Brooklyn is watching Portland to see what's next for them.

They have DFS on the block and believe they can get a 1st for him.

I can confirm Atlanta targets at 15

Cason Wallace, Bilal Coulibaly, Lively, Brandin Podziemski, Kobe Bufkin, and Nick Smith Jr.

Players they are high on: Walker and d*ck

Players they are very high on: Whitmore, Wemby, Scoot, and Miller.

Thanks for the info, interesting stuff.

Question though for mods or anyone who knows, do we have to scrub Gradey's name every time? Is there a rule against bad language/a bot that blocks it?

pacers and hawks are talking about Hunter again. both teams are trying to get the most value out of rosters/picks.

For those doubting the Hawks want to move up and get another pick, that is real. Feeling is we got some young guys ready to step up and we can move contracts to (sigh) save money for Ressler as well as get more guys on rookie scale contracts.

So save money while also being ok with going into the tax? Feels like an odd dichotomy

This is who you're quoting, as-if someone with insight.

But oh yeah... I forgot... you're the one here who voted a big Bugs Bunny "NO!" on discernment.

    ... hehe...

    never mind then.

But for the record, there's about a dozen people here, I imagine, who deserve at least  as much of your attention when they post something on Twitter or otherwise. Just sayin.

As to the UGA grad's logic... huh???... if you're wanting #10 with Lively as the target, theoretically, why wouldn't you be willing to part with your current starting center.

But Grant said he got the info from Fischer so what's the issue?

Do you all think that Korver might have a thing for D!ck? I bet he would mentor the heck out of D!ck.

d*ck dropped in the latest CBS mock to 18, the furthest I’ve seen him in any mock. The lowest is seen him was 12 in other mocks.

All you D!ck lovers out there holla and hoot about it.

I’m just gonna put this out there..

If we get the 🦄 and D!ck.. half the board will lose their minds!

D!ck n Staps! It’s catchy even Staps ⬆️ likes it!

This dude is too skilled to not make it in the NBA, his shots look easy and he plays smart. I'm a d*ck believer for sure

    What about the sun??

Not to mention Doomsday and Brainiac?

I feel you on Spiderman though.   Not my favorite but much respect.

I'll be honest, all i know about superman is from this video I watched like 10 years ago lol -

In the vid though, IIRC, Supes got energy from the sun, and if there was a star around he was pretty much invincible so under most circumstances no one can kill him.

Unless you're batman with prep time - then you beat everyone 😛

If you had to pick one?

Greg Swartz from Bleacher Report has listed Jevon Carter, Patrick Beverley, and Reggie Jackson as potential targets for the Atlanta Hawks backup PG role. “Atlanta has quietly become one of the deepest teams in the NBA, with two potential All-Stars at guard, a load of wings after the trade for Saddiq Bey and a frontcourt that somehow still features John Collins. The Hawks can't afford to be big spenders in free agency but could use a veteran point guard behind Trae Young and Dejounte Murray.”

out of these players I'd take Jevon Carter. Played nearly every game, shoots efficiently, and is fine on defense.

Would probably also be a good vet presence?

there's a huge drop off of talent in this draft once you get around #10 or #11.

Last year had a lot more depth in the teens than this draft.

So odd, I feel like for years this draft has been talked about as THE one that's super deep and people want picks for - saying things like the top few players in this draft would all go #1 in years prior, and you can find good talent all over the first round.

Wonder why the hype has died down, and if there really isn't an immediate impact player available, I hope we trade it away.

Or draft a long boi with potential, that's always fun.

Those are probably not the options.  At least option B isn't available because we would be capped out.  I think it's either pay him or trade him.  He may end up like Joe Johnson, or any other player that you knowingly overpay to retain.  Trade often comes a year or two later.

A DJM on a max trade a year after signing him is gonna be a sad sight, hope we don't get there lol.

Thanks for bringing up we're capped out, totally forgot. We've cornered ourselves into a tough position team building-wise, it'll be interesting to see what the top minds at Hawks hq do about it.

  9. Based on this season, I wouldn't wanna pay DJM a max - a bit more than Jordan Poole money probably?

Is there a minimum standard yall need to see from Murray before feeling comfy paying him a max?

    My criteria for max

    - All star/all NBA season

    - Put on muscle and actually become the defensive POA stopper we were hoping for consistently every night

    - Trae goes down and Murray replaces that production 1-1 for 20+ games while Trae is out

    - 50/40/90 szn on decent volume

From my quick spitballin, feels like Murray isn't gonna hit the things needed to be given a comfy max. Worried he's gonna play just well enough we won't be able to shed him with no recourse given we gave up those picks, but also maxing him would limit our team tremendously.

If there was a world where it was

    a) max DJM

    or

    b) use the DJM max money on 2-3 high level role players

    I'd go with B

Which means, Murray trade during trade deadline if some playoff hopeful team realizes they need a pg (Boston?)

In any case, next season should be fun, full of drama, and hopefully good ball 🤑
