Jay Mohr is entitled to his opinion, but to people who say that the WNBA must go ... i think there are more sports out there that are more unwatchable: fishing, outdoor games, bowling, etc. I'm not a fan of X-Games, but you don't see me saying that it needs to be off the air. And to say the WNBA players have less skills than D-league players is absurd. Mohr is getting confused between skills and athleticism. Skills are shooting, dribbling, playing defense, etc. Athletic ability is running, jumping, etc. I'd take Sue Bird over any D-league player in terms of skills. I actually payed attention to the whole women's basketball thing since the beginning because my sister is a baller and a fan. The quality of play in the WNBA has gotten much much better. For those who think it is unwatchable now, it was worse back in the day. Womens' basketball in the US has come a long way and i think they are on closer to their male counterparts in terms of skill more then the public thinks.

I don't think they'll take that big a step back as many people think they will. Defensively they are way better than last year. Diaw, Bell provide perimeter defense while Thomas will help with the boards. They will take a small step back on offense, but the boosts on the defensive end will compensate for the losses of Q and JJ. Why they won't suffer offensively lossing Q and JJ: 1. Nash could even make my grandma average 16 points a game. Bell is underrated offensively and Nash will make him look even better. 2. Amare. So instead of beating teams 125-115, they'll be beating them 115-100.

Al, proven scorer, yes. But if your gonna lose, go all the way. I don't think Darko is a complete stiff, but I'm sure he can be a dependable front court presence. And dependable front court presences are hard to find. Much harder to find than a wing player who averages 17 ppg. I say do it. Do it.

I agree with everyone that says to offer the max and see what Philly does. I thought Dalembert showed he can play in the second half of the 03-04 season. I think he's more proven than any of the other FA big men out there. It's time to make Philly sweat. How often do you have a chance at getting a young, mobile, athletic, shot blocking big man?

I wouldn't say Dalembert is completely a potential guy. He fell out of favor with Jim O'Brien and I think he wasted Dalembert's talents last year. The year before he proved he can block shots, rebound and run up and down the floor. It seems like the Dalembert's talking with the Hawks now that talks with the Sixers are going nowhere. If it's a ploy or not on Dalembert's part to extract some money from the Sixers, I don't know. But I really like this guy and if the Hawks get him, it would be way better than Curry. Is he a max type player? Probably not. But I would rather pour money into him than Curry. And how many overpaid centers are out there? I think Dalembert could be one of the better big men in the League.

First off, Damp only averaged 12 rebounds a game (not 15) in a year which totally came out of the blue. I would compare the Knicks signing of Jerome James to Speedy Claxton. Speedy has a career game or two in the finals for the Spurs and he lands himself a big contract (of course from the Warriors). If he comes close to 10 and 8, then I think the Knicks got a good deal. But I seriously doubt that he could do that for a full season.

What happened to my post? Oh well, I'll say it again ... I agree that Redd isn't a max contract player, but I don't think the Bucks are going to get a player of Redd's caliber via free agency and trying to get one through the draft takes too long (ask the Warriors about both). Free agents of Redd's caliber (just a notch below superstar) aren't exactly calamouring to come to Milwaukee. There isn't a major attraction to play for Milwaukee besides money. The Bucks' main competition was the Cavs, who have the lure of being Redd's home state and some guy named James. The Bucks had Bogut. So how do you retain Redd if your the Bucks? You have no choice but to give him the max. Giving Redd the max isn't a huge mistake; there have been worse player with the max (cough, Jamison). If you see what happened to the Wizards, you see why they had to give Redd the max. The Wiz and Cavs offer Hughes nearly the same contract (six years $70 mill) and what happens? Hughes goes off and agrees to terms with the Cavs. This happened and the Wizards were a playoff team. Sure the Bucks might regret giving Redd a max contract later on, but the odds of them landing someone like Redd if he left is pretty slim.

With my personal experience with Muss ... I think he's a really good coach. He does things the "right way" instead of catering to his players. That was his downfall. If Foyle, one of the nicest guys in the NBA, lose some faith in Muss, then that says a lot. I agree, I hope he learns from his experience with GS and some how finds a middle ground.

With the 40th Pick of the 2005 Draft the Golden State Warriors select Ryan Gomes 6-8 248 SF Providence Sr. Gomes is a proven player in college and and though he lacks the NBA type size needed to play the inside game, his improving shooting range shows us he can make the adjustment to a NBA small forward.

GS loves Biedrins, and we hate Tim Thomas. We need to win now, and need a solid big man. Diesel, I like Magloire so how about this. GS offers #9, Derek Fisher, Dunleavy for NO Jamal Magloire. Dunno if that matches up money wise, but what do you think? Also for everyone, still offering up Dunleavy. Don't know if we can sign him after this year. Plus with Troy Murphy adding some 3pt range, a good defensive SG/SF would be a better compliment. So Dunleavy for future picks, anyone?

I second what Wretch said. We shouldn't just float the word "great" around and slap it on any team. The Pistons are really good and it is a real accomplishment to make it to the Finals 2 years in a row, regardless of conference. I wouldn't even slap "great" on the Spurs. If they win a couple more championships, maybe. It usually takes two parties for greatness. Magic had Bird. And even Jordan had to go through Isiah and the Bad Boys. So who knows? Maybe the Pistons will turn the Spurs into their rivals the next couple of years and then down the road, maybe we'll see that in fact these Pistons are really great. Until then, I call it like I see it and they are just a really good team.

I like the team the Warriors have now, but I need to move Dunleavy. Anyone wanna work a deal for a mid first round pick? Or maybe a vet big man? Lemme know. And serious offers please. I'm not Saint Jean.

If this thing does go down, give me the Warriors. I think I could be a better GM than Saint.
