  1. Quote: I thought Acie was clucth??? Good job Smooove He is still a rookie. Taking last second shots at Texas A&M is a bit different than hitting shots in a tense NBA game.
  2. Huge put back by Smoove. He and Marvin are carrying us.
  3. Quote: Quote: Who does Woody go with, when the clock hits 5 minutes left? a) stick with Salim b) put Law back in c) put Lue back in Hopefully not C. I have been a big Lue supporter but i think his time is up. I never thought i would ever say i would rather see Salim than Lue but i feel that way now. The devil is iceskating in hell right now.
  4. The refs are starting to pull the whole "This is PHX, they aren't supposed to be losing to ATL" act and calling ticky tack fouls. First on Horford's illegal screen and then on Smoove's poke away of the ball. I can't wait for a day when we get some respect referee-wise.
  5. Great kick by Salim to Chillz. Salim has to play more.
  6. My point exactly. I have no problem with Smoove taking "under control" shots within 15 feet. It's the crazy out of control, off balance drives and long shots that kill me.
  7. Joe does not look comfortable at all. Smoove is killing me with these shots.
  8. The worst part is the doubles down low have happened at least three times and we keep leaving Nash. If we leave him on a double team even once in the second half, then Woodson has failed as a coach.
  9. A source tells the Pioneer Press that the reason the Wolves couldn't make a deal with Phoenix for Kevin Garnett is that the Suns were unwilling to give up the first-round unprotected 2008 draft pick they have coming from Atlanta. That pick could end up being No. 1 overall. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...rom_getting_kg/
  10. Um...when you haven't made the playoffs in a long time, that breeds doubt and pessimism for the future. When you hold the league's longest standing string of non-playoff years, why would that not breed pessimism for the future? I don't blame people for being pessimistic. The Hawks have to prove their fans wrong. Until then, deal with the criticism.

  12. It would be so awesome if Yi refused to sign. That would be classic.
  13. They have seen our success and are just trying to replicate it.
  14. We're in the lottery every year as it is now.
  15. I would counter that the worst thing you can do as a franchise/GM is to not make the playoffs for seven years running, have cap space to play with, and promise your fans every year that it's going to get better at some point. I would take a 5 seed in a heartbeat at this point.
  16. I don't know where you guys are getting that Crittenton will not be a good pro. I don't think he would jump right into the league and be great, but he's an athletic freak for a PG. He's also got what we need from players - some freaking fire. If Tech was struggling on offense, he would put the team on his back to win ballgames. Yes, sometimes this hurt his decision making since he would try and do too much, but I'd MUCH rather draft a PG that is going to be a leader and a player that HATES losing, than to gamble on another player with no fire. I would love to take Critt at #11.

I will do my best not to buy tickets or watch games if they are back. I know I will, but I will try not to. Of course, if we end up with picks #2 and #12 and wind up with Durant and Conley, I will watch no matter what.
  18. Can someone with access please post these new articles about the "25 most underpaid" and "25 worst contracts"? Thanks.
  19. Johnson Over Deng, Gordon Raises Eyebrows 16th February, 2007 - 7:05 am Toronto Star - There were more than a few eyebrows raised when the league chose Atlanta's Joe Johnson to replace Jason Kidd instead of taking either Luol Deng or Ben Gordon of the Chicago Bulls , the Toronto Star is reporting. Johnson may be a good choice but there are those who think that a team's record needs to be taken into consideration. Plus, the fact there are no Bulls going doesn't quite seem right. "I don't think anybody on a below-.500 team should be involved in the all-star game," said Chicago coach Scott Skiles. "Having never been (an all-star), I'm probably not in a position to judge," he added. "They don't call me and ask me those things. "But I think that would add some nice incentive to playing in that game for players that may lack some incentive." [READ]
  20. What is your problem? There will be bitching until actual progress is seen. An 18-29 record is not progress. [censored] away people.
  21. Great post. Especially the stuff on JJ in PHX and the insight on his leadership ability (or lackthereof). I hope his time in Atlanta eventually turns into a winning scenario.
