  1. Wow..I was just driving home and listening to NY Sports Radio and they were talking about Curry and Collier and the way they were talking I thought we traded JC to NY then come home to find this out? Scary...my thoughts & prayers are with his family.
  2. Very cool to see an owner take time out of his schedule to talk to the fans. Although I live in Connecticut & cannot attend the game, I bought 4 tickets which are being sent to my cousin who lives in Atlanta & works with under-privileged children so she can take 3 of the kids to a game. Thanks again!
  3. The way I became a Hawks fan was b/c my cousin was a cheerleader for them in the early to mid 80's and I thought I was cool b/c of that and the rest was history lol. Not too many of us in New England.
  4. "Right Now you can't see my hands but I am flipping off Bernie Mullin"
  5. Good job mrH. Interesting to read that & I agree about them resigning JJ then moving Marion in the future.
  6. Per Hoopshype it says that rumors began to circulate that Boston is looking to deal him. There is also mentioning of Boston doing a 3 team deal so they can get rid of Walker with Atlanta, Charlotte & N.O. being a partner since we have cap space w/ Walker going to a contender. The links to the articles seem to be dead so I couldn't read any further. Rumors Marcus Banks bio from nbadraft.net Strengths: Defensively he has NBA skills as he is blessed with quick hands and solid lateral quickness ... Has a unique NBA ready body that is both strong and sturdy ... Can seemingly drive to the lane at will thanks to his great hesitation crossover move that gives him good separation from his defender ... Once in the lane he has the uncanny ability to hang in the air and wait for the defense to commit before making his move ... Excellent rebounder for his size ... After he gets the ball he really looks to initiate the fast break ... Once he penetrates into the lane he is a hard player to stop as he is able to rely on his biggest asset which is the drive and dish ... Has developed solid leadership skills often he is a steady influence over his teammates ...Thanks to his wonderful court vision and creativity he has the ability to make difficult passes with pinpoint precision ... Weakness: Height will become a big question for him come draft day. Although listed at 6-2, upon appearance he looks to be closer to 6-0 to 6-1 ... At this point Banks is not a very efficient shooter from the perimeter as he struggles with consistency ... Due to his height he is a post-up target for bigger guards who usually can get position on him ... Can get frustrated on offense if his shot isn't failing which usually leads to him taking questionable shots ... Still needs to work on developing into a better shooter off the dribble ... Decision making when the ball is in his hands has been vastly improved since last year but turnovers still can plague him at times ... Still learning as a point guard how to control the tempo of a game better ... Still learning how to make players around him better but to his credit he is steadily improving in this aspect of the game ...
  7. Does anyone play this? I cannot wait to play this game. I have it reserved at my local gamestop and they open at 10am tomorrow so I am gonna swing by on my way to work to pick it up. I have to work from 11am-8pm tomorrow so I wont even be able to check it out until late which is gonna suck but atleast its out!
  8. Thanks for posting that. Its a debatable list but the task at hand is not an easy one. Two names the immediately popped out to me were Gibson ( who I admit, I know nothing about ) and Clemens. I really wasn't expecting to see the Rocket on there.
  9. Did anyone read this article on espn insider? The headline read Willie Mays makes team over Mickey Mantle. If someone has it can you post it here? If not no biggie. Thanks
  10. per nbadraft.net Link NBA Comparison: Reggie Miller Strengths: A study in fluidity. Childress, although skinny possesses great athletic ability with super long arms and great intangibles. Josh is one of those players who can play multiple positions…He can handle the ball and shoot the 3 like few can. He also has an excellent mid range game and a developing post up game. Josh is very unselfish and is great at moving without the ball…His long arms and quick feet make him a super shotblocker, rebounder and defender for his position. They additionally give him the ability to cause havoc in the passing lanes for opposing teams. All in all Josh is a super prospect with the athletic ability teams drool over and the defensive skills teams die for. Weaknesses: Even with all his physical gifts, Josh never seemed to dominate games at the college level. He doesn’t always seem to have the intensity/aggressiveness on the offensive end that other dominating college players have had. That being said, he was asked to be a team player at Stanford…A tad on the skinny side, Childress would definitely benefit with some added weight…There are also concerns about his foot, which sidelined him for the early parts of this season. Notes: A finesse type player with a very bright future. A definite first rounder, his defensive talents separate him from the pack…. A starter from his first day on the Stanford campus….A McDonald’s All American out of high school…
  11. I am so sick of seeing posts that have us dealing Childress. Why do some of you want to get rid of him??? Especially for Marbury?!? I wouldn't deal Childress straight up for Marbury & Sweetney.
  12. Actually that is my mom's name! Instead though its spelled "Irma".
