  1. This team is garbage, and I think it should be blown up. So, how about this offseason, the Hawks build a team of nothing but foreigners. Make a trade with SAR like Memphis did and get Milicic. Trade anybody other teams will take and get young foreigners. Guys like Anderson Varejao, Sofoklis Schortsianitis, Mikael Pietrus, Carlos Delfino, and Zarko Cabarkapa. Do whatever you have to to get Jiri Welsch from Golden State. Hire the first foreign coach in NBA history. [censored], import the whole [censored] Yugoslavian National team. How much worse could it be? At least they would be known for something other than losing. Lineup: C Milicic F Varejao F Schortsianitis SG Pietrus PG Welsch 6th man: Delfino, Cabarkapa Now that's a basketball team! My signature line was a joke.
  2. The Thrashers have a much brighter future, a better coach and a better front office. And they want to win.
  3. If I had the money, I would buy this team, because the price won't get any lower. You have a new arena and an area of the country where many pro athletes are comfortable living. All you need is the right leadership to make this team successful. You could get this team at a bargain price and turn it into a riduculous profit.
  4. I am so tired about hearing about the low turnout for Hawks games. Why should the people of Atlanta pay to see that team? [censored], New JErsey went to the Finals, and they can't draw anybody. Every city has teams that don't draw well, and the reason is that those teams do not win. This city will support a quality product. The Falcons sold out every game this year. Just another example of sportswriters who never have to pay for tickets taking shots at people who actually work for a living. I sure wish I could get free tickets, food, and parking.

    from insider

I really like the Chicago deal the most. Crawford is young and really just needs playing time, plus you could keep JT. As we saw Monday, Fizer has a lot of talent. Does anyone know anything about Radmonovic? I remember him being a lottery pick, but has he been a bust? Contrary to what some other people think, I don't feel trading SAR would be a huge loss. Also, does anyone know if Keon Clark signed a 1 or 2 year deal? I would love to have him as a replacement for Theo next year.

    Stotts?

Three things: 1. SAR should have been on the bench the entire second half. He was garbage, just like almost everyone else on the team. 2. It's not Stotts' fault that GRob has no idea what the word pass means. He shoots the ball every time he touches it. Stotts can sit him down, but he'll do it again as soon as he is put back into the game. He needs to be traded, but there is no market for him. 3. Stotts can preach defense all he wants, but if the guys don't want to do it, they won't. Defense is all about desire, and these guys have none.
  7. I would love for Paul Silas to be the coach of this team. I just hope he wouldn't be sucked down to the abysmal level this organization and it's players seem comfortable residing at.
  8. Is it just his personality, or is there more to it? I'm just curious, because I think he's a pretty good player.
  9. Mike Fratello: I think he would be good for the team. He is the exact opposite of Kruger, and he will demand defense and hard work, just like- Jeff Van Gundy: I think he's probably a younger Fratello, and he's a proven winner who has shown he can handle big egos. Another defensive guy, which is what this team needs. Michael Cooper: A defensive specialist as a player, and he did win a WNBA title. Like SAR said, the Hawks do play like a WNBA team. Rick Mahorn: Tough, won in the CBA, will chew a guy out and instill discipline. We know the players listen to him. That's why he was fired. Alex English: He's an assistant with the team now, so he's familiar with the players. I don't know if anyone watched him on the ESPN show last year, but he seemed to do a pretty good job with his NBDL team. I think he would certainly demand respect. The bottom line to all of this is that Lon Kruger has to go, because the Hawks are still in the play-off picture despite their bad play. A change has got to be made now to save this season.
  10. where we root for the Hawks to lose so that Kruger and Babcock will be fired? I think that I am there, because I also think that if the Hawks are lucky enough to get the top lottery pick, Lebron may do for them what Michael Vick has done for the Falcons. But there has to be a completely new regime for that to happen.
  11. I have also become a devotee of the Ming Dynasty. I honestly thought he would be a bust, but he is much more athletic than I ever imagined. And he will be an All-Star this year, because for the first time China will be able to vote over the internet. He'll get every vote from his homeland, and he'll get plenty from the USA as well. It's Yao's world, we're all just paying rent.
  12. My first choice would be Dunleavy, but I might consider giving Alex English a shot. I would have loved to see Eric Musselman as the coach, but the Hawks lost their chance with him.
  13. I'm with you, Jay. Brown is the last announcer I would expect to return to coaching. I'm not saying these guys are better, but I would have expected John Thompson or Fratello before Hubie Brown. I thought West was waiting for a chance to bring Dunleavy in to coach.
  14. I am really getting tired of watching Lon Kruger coach this team. I don't like his sub. patterns, and I don't think he makes quality halftime adjustments. He just isn't a good NBA coach. He was good as a college coach, and maybe he should go back there. My question is this: How much money will Mike Dunleavy want to coach this team?
  15. First off, no team has ever gone undefeated. They lost a game they probably should have won, but they will learn from this game. It is not their fault that Penny Hardaway decided to wake up after 2 years of lousy basketball. They do need to work on the turnovers, but again, JT will learn as the season goes on. As for the top PFs, SAR is in the top 8, but he would be even higer if he would develop a nasty streak. He needs to get the attitude of, I will run over you and there is nothing you can do to stop me. Basically, he needs to play angry.
  16. I know you guys are upset about the Heat game, but try to remember- IT'S THE PRE-SEASON! Would you rather them look bad now or in April?
  17. That's a good idea. I think this is as talented a team as there is in the east, and my prediction is based on the hope of a healthy Theo. Unlike the national media, I have no questions about JT at the point.
  18. If Jordan thinks these guys will come close to winning a title, he should be fired by the Wiz ASAP. Oakley is done, Russell never was much, Hughes can't play the point, and Stackhouse will pout if he doesn't get his way. Jordan will not finish the season. They need to play the young guys.
  19. That's why I don't listen to that station. They really don't know what they are talking about. Especially Kincade.
  20. David Stern will not allow the Hawks to be moved to another city. Atlanta is a growing area, it is a major media market, and there is too much money to be made here with the right ownership. The teams that have recently moved were moved from bad markets (Vancouver) and from a place that hated the ownership and did everything to spite them (Charlotte). There is a beautiful new arena and a populus that will support a winner. Five years ago, who thought Dallas would be where they are now? All we need is the right owner. BY the way, there was talk of the Falcons being moved to L.A. before they were bought by Arthur Blank.
  21. The most ridiculous part of this "Insider" is that the guy guaranteed the Wiz a playoff spot. Byron Russell? He was done 4 years ago. Christian Laettner? He was done 5 years ago when Alan Henderson forced him to the bench. Stackhouse is not a team player, and he will never win any kind of championship. Who's the PG? Larry Hughes? That experiment failed last year. And Doug Collins? He had MJ 13 years ago, and he couldn't win a title then. What's changed?
  22. In his chat, Ford said that he's not sure if JT is a SG or PG, and so he's not sure what his place in the league is. I would think that there is a place somewhere for a good jump shooter who averages close to 20ppg.
