Quote: Quote: Quote: To whomever said this isn't Woodson's fault... really please clue me on how it is [censored] possible to let a team come back and likely win a game in which you held them to 5 points in a whole quarter? This type of [censored] happens all the time with Woodson no matter who the players are. We saw this [censored] with Al and Anotine and we have seen it with Joe and Co. Woody has no clue and it shows when this type of [censored] happens so frequently. Does Mike Woodson miss layups from point blank? Does Mike Woodson pass the ball to the invisible Hawk on the sideline? Does Mike Woodson leave his man wide open for a 3? As much as I dislike Woody, you can't blame him for games like this, especially when they turn the ball over 20+ times a game. That being said, if they play their cards right, the Hawks might actually have a chance at winning this. I doubt they will, but they've got a punchers chance. no, but isn't the head coach supposed to install a scheme and coach his players so they don't throw passes to invisible players and give guys wide open looks? you would think so
  2. Does Mike Woodson know how to motivate his team to perform? Does Mike Woodson know how to run a half court offense? Does Mike Woodson know how any good set plays? Does Mike Woodson know how to make subs? Does Mike Woodson know how to make adjustments? The answers are all clearly NO and they lead to the player's performing badly. I would think they also are basic qualifications to be a coach...
  3. Guess he forgot about him again.... brilliant!

  5. Great now we can see one of Woodson's patented out of timeout turnover/forced shot plays! Woodson= Worst coach in the history basketball An official petition to fire Woodson thread is coming soon, stay tuned folks!
  6. Quote: Over Horf? No thanks... pass me the kool-aid. I want Zaza off this team he is the biggest piece of [censored] ever. This retard really thinks he is good. You would think after getting his shot beat or turnover the ball over every time he touches it, he would give it up, but no he does it again. Go back to Europe you big p*ssy!
  7. Quote: I know this sounds crazy but seeing how bad our bench play is wouldn't it be wise to start Pachulia at Center and bring Horford off the bench to help with Bench play. I would give Horford the bulk of the minutes but at least we give Al some shine vs. 2nd teamers and also give us a fighting chance when our starters are on the bench. Also Pachulia's mistakes might be overshadowed by the strong play of our starting 5. Your thoughts I'm speechless. I do not know of a single player in the NBA can have such a negative impact on a team's play than Zaza has this season.
  8. Quote: No, Woody is not a good coach, and no, we will not win anything of signifcance with him as the coach of THIS team, because these guys are so schizophrenic as shooters and with their decision making. ( I'm assuming this means at least getting to the Eastern Conference Finals ) Ok I agree. What I do not understand is why you go out of your way to defend a coach who you will admit is not good.
  9. Quote: Quote: Honestly, I missed that part of the game due to family obligations. I've never seen Woody substitute 5 players before like that, so what made him do it then? Was it a combination of foul trouble, injuries and player exhaustion or did he just decide to try something new that didn't work? If he simply decided to sub in 5 players without extenuating circumstances, I'd agree that he exercised questionable judgment. Considering that we still were in the game at the end, I wouldn't say it was a total failure, but it would not be what I would have done in similar circumstances. Objectively speaking and laying aside any anti-Woody sentiment, why do you think he chose to substitute that way? Was there any reasonable explanation for it? LOL @ why did he do it. Hmmmmm . . let's see: - Hawks had scored a TOTAL of 11 points at the mandatory timeout at 2 minutes to go. - Jazz were on a 10 - 0 run, when Salim came into the game at that point. - They had also missed 8 of their last 10 shots, and had committed 5 turnovers during that 10 - 0 run. - Jeremy Richardson enters the game with less than a minute left in the quarter, for the sole purpose of trying to give JJ a little breather. - Woody starts the lineup of Salim, J-Rich, Chill, Solo, and Zaza to begin the 2nd quarter . . Utah has Brewer, Price, Harpring, Milsap, and Okur on the floor. They get outscored 2 - 0. - Marvin comes in for J-Rich, and you now have a Salim, Chill, Marvin, Solo, and Zaza group on the floor. They promptly get outscored 4 - 0 in a 45 second span. - Woody then puts Smoove and Bibby back in the game, in place of Salim and Solo. If you ask me, the only thing that Woody was trying to do, is see if the Bench could provide a spark, seeing that the starters were playing like ish themselves. But since Woody can do nothing right, even when he DOES do something right, it will always be looked upon as a negative. LOL . . the same guys complaining about our bench last night, are the same ones that suggested that J-Rich get more PT ahead of Marvin, and that Salim should play a lot of minutes each night. They're also the same guys complaining about seeing Solo. If these guys can't play together as a group, the ONLY way they can see the floor, is if you have a SET point in which you want them to enter the game, while on the floor with the majority of the starters. In other words . . . a TIMED SUBSTITUTION PATTERN. When Dolfan correctly points out that Sloan has a set substitution pattern, they go off the deep end, and says that Woody is no Sloan. Ish . . lol . . we already know that. Dolfan was just making the point that even a great coach like Jerry Sloan has a SET substitution pattern. Matter of fact, ALL COACHES have a set substitution pattern. But the people on this board believe that Woody is the creator of timed subs for some strange reason. The starters played inconsistent last night, and were turning the ball over left and right, but the bench played like absolute crap. As a bench/role player, the only thing you're asked to do, is to do what you're in the game for. If J-Rich and Salim are the shooters, make some damn shots. If Solo is a rebounder and defender, then grab a damn rebound and alter some shots. If Zaza is our banger, then do that on both ends of the floor. If we win, Woody gets no credit ( as evident with the G-State win ). If we lose, he gets all the blame. LOL . . it's damned if he does . . damned if he doesn't. Simple question for you, that requires a simple yes/no answer, not 5 paragraphs of blabber. Do you think Woody is a good coach, and a coach that we can ever win anything significant with?
  10. Quote: Salim finally decided to drive the ball instead of taking so many outside shots when he gets the ball in his hand. I think that is why he had a good game tonight unlike most nights. I think he had a good game tonight because unlike all other nights this season, he actually got to play and wasn't yanked after two minutes.
  11. Quote: Quote: I hope Zaza breaks both his legs and arms I hate Zaza as much as the next guy... but WTF? I was quite tame with that response believe it or not. I was pretty close to going more further.
  12. Quote: The big downside to the Bibby trade for me is that Zaza will be playing more. Bibby will have to play very well to make up for Zaza's ineptitude. I hope Zaza breaks both his legs and arms so we can get the money back we wasted on this clown. Then maybe Woodson will play Solo.
  13. Quote: I knew I left something out of my post. I paused before submitting and was like "what other point was I going to make?" EXACTLY though. Even if Bibby is a complete failure, we could potentially make another Blockbuster next season with his expiring next season. You have to think BK sees Acie as possibly the PG of the future at this point. Acie has looked great lately, but it is always nice to have two good PG's.
  14. Quote: Quote: Yes the person in charge of the Hawks is in no way to blame. I mean how could you possibly blame the person in charge? It certainly is the water boys fault, or maybe it is the towel boy? Yes, because another coach would've put in Salim sooner so that he could have increased the turnovers. Brilliant. The Hawks were WAY TOO energetic early on, and it cost them on the road. If Woodson fails to get his team adjusted vs. the Kings, then you have a problem. But is Bibby expected to learn the offense in one day? Are his teammates expected to know how he plays in one day? CHILL OUT. People like you amaze me. You act like I made this post because of this one game. NO you freaking moron. This is been four years coming and this just highlights the joke that Woodson is and makes me laugh when I see people defend him as if he is their daddy. When has Woodson ever made an adjustment? When has he ever made a decent substitution? When was the last time a play out of a timeout didn't result in a turnover? How many times do I have to watch us barely score 30 points in a half because WE HAVE NO HALF COURT OFFENSE? HOW MANY TIMES WILL OUR TEAM COME OUT LIKE THIS BECAUSE WOODSON CANT MOTIVATE THEM? Oh but wait... since we got Bibby it is all good now? What a joke.. go check your vision cuz your clearly blind.
  15. Quote: Who do you blame for the fact that in year 4 we have absolutely ZERO offensive strategy to maximize our strengths and minimize our weaknesses? Hell we have zero offensive strategy period. Meanwhile on D we are frequently confused on what's supposed to happen on picks, who's supposed to rotate etc... It is absolute insanity that an NBA coach in year 4 has an offensive system that is not visibly any better than letting the guys run wild with absolutely no coaching. INSANITY. He is not head coach caliber. Quoted for the damn truth.
  16. Quote: The Hawks are down by 40 and you blame the coach? Another person that needs to go to bed. HAHA. Idiot. Yes the person in charge of the Hawks is in no way to blame. I mean how could you possibly blame the person in charge? It certainly is the water boys fault, or maybe it is the towel boy?
  17. I don't even know where to begin... it is an insult to the coaching profession that he still has a job. Same [censored],different day with this clueless joke as our coach.
  18. Bottom line is Woodson is a useless piece of [censored] and needs to be fired for our team to ever maximize its potential!
  19. Quote: Yep, and that's not all that difficult to achieve as your history has proven. LMAO is that the best you could do? Anyway go back to being a mindless sheep and follow the heard while making 100 posts a day. I will continue reading your posts and laughing my ass off at your lack of basketball intelligence and homerism.
  20. Quote: Woodson has been asked to captain a cruise liner with an anchor and a rudder from a tiny boat and people seem to be surprised that we aren't going anywhere. Probably the 2 most important positions for a team to fill with quality players are center and point guard and here we are more than 3 years into his term and he has a group of backup PGs and a rookie running the team and a rookie PF anchoring it at C. How in the world he is expected to consistently get wins with such a poorly constructed team is beyond me. Woody may very well get fired and everybody here screaming for his head will be jumping all over firing the next guy because he can't win with this lineup either. I hope that I am very wrong in that estimation if Woody is fired and I will be the first to say I was wrong if I am proven wrong but I think you all are going to realize that Woody is the least of the problems with this team as constructed today. LMAO, I knew this was coming. You amaze me.
  21. Quote: Gray, we have had two blockbuster deals made so far, but hardly any "roster tweaking" type deals. I think what you see going on in this league, are teams trying to either make the perfect deal, or teams reluctant to make a deal that gives up young talent or picks. There are some important questions and/or points that the fans need to know, to gague what the hell this management group has planned: - Has the ASG specifically told BK to NOT go over the salary cap for next year? I say that because if this ownership group is committed to keep Josh Smith no matter what, they may be crunching those types of numbers right now. I think that's the #1 question we need to know. And this question will affect any type of decision that will be made in the next few weeks. - While our expiring contracts are definitely attractive to teams, it really depends on how much and how long a contract we're receiving in return . . and if the team we're trading with wants cap relief AND possibly a good developing player or 1st round pick. For example, I think Eddy Curry could help us. But he's still owed over 30 million for the next 3 years. Teams usually don't trade expiring contracts in exchange for expiring contracts. So if in a deal involving Curry or Andre Miller, do we give up some of our expirings, Marvin Williams and our 2010 1st round pick, just to get Miller for the next 1.5 years or Curry for the next 3 at 10+ million per year? - If the coach thinks that Acie isn't ready to run the team, can we afford to trade either AJ and/or Lue, for a player that isn't a PG? I think the first part of the question is obvious, Woody doesn't trust Law to take over the PG duties. If that's the case, do you still trade AJ, Lue and Wright for a Mike Miller type player? I would. But that means that Acie HAS to be ready to lead immeadiately. If not, we'd have no choice but to play JJ at the point, with Acie resuming his backup PG role. - Are the Hawks looking at going after a guy in free agency, and would rather make a move for a player then, instead of now? Here's a scenario. Say the Hawks are willing to go a little over the cap next, taking the issue of money out of the equation. They let the expiring contracts fall off the books, and plan on not matching any offer regarding Childress. Smoove is matched no matter what. But the two guys the Hawks have targeted are Emeka Okafor and Jose Calderon. And they're willing to give either guy a big money deal ( Okafor 11 - 12 mill a year . . Calderon 8 - 10 mill a year ). Do you wait for them, or do you tweak the lineup now? What if teams don't want Childress as "potential talent" in a deal? A lot of us include Chill in most of our trade deals, because he's the most expendible. But what if the teams we're trying to deal with, don't want him? What if they'll only deal with us, if we're willing to give up Smoove or Marvin? If that's the case, that poses a problem. I think the untouchables right now on this team are JJ, Smoove, Al, and Marvin. None of those guys will be dealt just to balance out the roster. If they are dealt, they will be dealt for a stay type player. * * * * * * * * * * * * I personally think that whatever we do, is going to be a minor one that won't affect our starters at all. It'll be a rookie swap deal, like a Shelden for JJ Redick. Or a deal that brings in a Flip Murray or some other player that might be a little decent, but is buried on someone's bench. Or we trade our 2nd round pick for someone who doesn't play much. It'll be a deal that might get people talking, but it probably won't be significant. I just think that teams, especially in the East, aren't willing to deal with each other, because everybody except Miami is still within striking distance to get in the playoffs. And the West teams are so tight, they're probably looking for talent in a trade, and not cap relief. Even a team like the Clips are probably looking to add talent right now, even though they're out of the playoff picture. I think our only chance, is to find a team out West that can immeadiately use a guy like Chill, and give us a player we can immeadiately use in return. I'll be surprised if the East deals with us.. I agree with you on this, specifically on teams looking to make the perfect deal instead of a small deal. However, if Woodson would get his head out his ass, we could improve without making any trades, although I do think we need one in the long run. How do we improve with our current roster? Simple. Give Lue's minutes to Acie, and give Zaza's minutes to Solomon. Lue and Zaza are terrible defenders and seem to think they are the star of the offense. Acie and Solomon not only are good defenders and do not take terrible shots on offense, but they also have significant room to improve while the aforementioned player's do not. It baffles me how we play the worse player who has little to no room to improve over the better player with upside. Now I would get into how we could improve by implementing some sort of half court offensive system that actually works on the NBA level, but I have given up hope of Woodson ever being competent enough to do that.
  22. Quote: If he feels that he only has 6-8 guys that are capable of performing for him (and the facts seem to back that up) should he play the guys who aren't performing and in all likelihood lose the games or should he stick with that short rotation and try and win games? Why do you continually defend Woodson no matter what? You would defend him if caught red handed for murder. How can you argue Woodson plays the guys that will not hurt the team's chances to win, yet he plays ZaZa and Lue nightly?
  23. Quote: Our performance on the road has been by far the biggest problem for this team all year... Unless we start playing better, than even the eight spot, is not a certainty. +1 There are really some big time idiots/homers on this board. People who just assume we are going to make the playoffs. The fact is, we have had some terrible losses that normally come from terrible coaching decisions and terrible play by a certain few players. We need to correct these problems to keep getting better as a team. Some idiots on here would not care if we still have unacceptable flaws as a team just because we would be the 7th seed in the eastern conference if the playoffs started today. People like Northcyde and Dolfan ride certain members of our team's nuts like none other. Apparently to them, basketball decisions are based off of making assumptions. They defend Woodson taking out Horford and Smith while they were not in foul trouble because "they could have gotten into foul trouble if left in."Not to mention we were losing at the time and our bench for the 4/5 spots are the worst I have ever seen. If we had quality reserves it would be a different story.
  24. dolfan and northcyde, when either of you want to base your position on facts rather than assumptions get back to me.
