  1. Yeah you're right. The last thing the Hawks would want to do is pay alot for a defensive player of the year. I was growing fond of watching opposing teams drive the lane untouched last year anyway.
  2. You know you're amazing Diesel. You can fight relentlessly to defend your conspiracy theory about United 93 with very inconclusive evidence. Then you turn around and defend Barry (and OJ) when there actually is enough credible evidence to suggest he was a juiced-up athlete (and OJ was a murderer). Are you immune to logic? Oh well, like I expected the imperial nerd of Hawksquawk to have a different stance.
  3. Definitely looks kinda like a Charles Manson and Jack Black hybrid. And it is definitely all making sense now.
  4. ^^Nicely said gsuteke. While I wouldn't expect the players to dwell on a bad loss too long, it is bothersome to think that playing cards and laughing may have been the norm after the many buttkickings we received. You are indeed just realizing a bit of the culture of the NBA. A great game that I love is unfortunately being degraded by more and more immature young adults. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want the league to be dominated by flat-line personalities like Tim Duncan. It's quite normal when you have so many young men being thrown into the limelight to not understand the discipline needed to be a true professional. Still, with more and more really young guys coming into the league, oftentimes from broken homes and crime-ridden environments, it's depressing.

    United 93

When you argue with a fool, it's often difficult for bystanders to tell who the fool is. So enjoy your life as a conspiracy theorist. I'll try not to interrupt your disrespectful, sick delusions anymore with my disgust.

    United 93

    You are such a fool.
  7. I remember reading somewhere that money might not be as big of a deal to Noah because he comes from a rich family. If true, he might like to have as much fun in college as possible. Still, he isn't going to be a number one pick next year due to Oden. So if he wants to potentially be a number one pick(I don't know that he does), he should declare this year or wait another two years. I hope he decides to declare. It only strengthens this fairly weak draft and puts us in a better drafting situation.
  8. I couldn't agree more with you DJ. JT is definitely a very good player. But we knew that when he was here. However, we need a guy that does more than just shoot for a high percentage and handle the ball well. If we're going to pay alot for a pg, we need a guy who can run a team. I'm sorry but I don't think JT is a good point guard. He is a short shooting guard. A very good one but still not a pg. Anytime he has tried to run an offense like a true pg, he gets exposed for what he truly is...a shooting guard.
  9. First of all, I don't think Marvin will be an upgrade until another year or so. As for Al, I can't speak for all here but I think alot of his decline in popularity has to do with his defense. He seems to have lost any desire to really play hard for the entire game on D. Either that or he is just incapable of it. Offensively, he still has alot to offer which is why he'll be coveted by a few teams this offseason. Also the fact that he is another tweener doesn't help. I for one am ready for us to get some guys who fill a specific role. The whole versatile player mentality that BK is in love with has not worked for us.....yet.
  10. ^^You may be right. It might not matter that much anyway. I would still be a little happier though if we were able to atleast get Aldridge out of this draft.
  11. Yes, I'm pulling for the Bobcats. However, I'm pulling for them to pass us, not past us. Sorry, just had to point that out. I know some will say I'm not a true fan for saying that but wins at this point, actually for the past 2 or 3 weeks, don't mean much. Wins at this point are only cosmetic. Whether Hawks fans like it or not, we're better off losing the rest of our games and maybe moving up a spot to increase our chances of getting a better pick. It opens up more potential trade opportunities while obviously giving us a better pick.
  12. Is it even realistic to think New York could offer Al the money he is going to ask for without getting rid of one of their terrible contracts?
  13. I think we have a good chance at Aldridge if Thomas goes first. I could see it going like this: 1)Chicago(via Knicks) - Tyrus Thomas 2)Portland - Roy/Morrison 3)Charlotte - Morrison/Roy 4)Atlanta - oh yeah..Aldridge baby Seems like I read somewhere that daBulls really like Thomas. Plus, Harrington is probably going to wind up there. So they go with the pf in Thomas who has great upside. He and Chandler will block everything in sight. Al can handle some scoring down low. They already have plenty good guards. Portland, if Pryzbilla stays, will look for a shooter. Roy or Morrison can handle that. However if Pryzbilla bolts, they get Aldridge. Charlotte doesn't need anymore bigs. So they go with the best available guard/small forward. That leaves us with Aldridge. Ofcourse it all depends if Chicago goes with Thomas and what Pryz does in Portland. If so, I think we can get our guy. That's my best guess anyway.
  14. Ditto. If Aldridge is available and he passes him up for a sf..I don't even know how he would keep his job. He has to know that we need defense in the post more than anything. Leave Aldridge on the board, no way.
  15. Allright, I'm going to concede to you that I did not separate the two thoughts well. The subject of my response concerning the team was that I didn't think it applied to what was going on with Hodge as the other guy implied it might. Saying who raped that girl, if she was raped, should be punished was just a general statement. Again, you're right as far as my grammar leading to my statement being unclear and easily confused. Still it doesn't negate the fact that the University was not being cooperative from the beginning. Nor does the DNA evidence completely dismiss the allegation that this girl was raped by someone at that party. If she filed a false police report, she should be given the same sentence that could have been given the players. As for our little tat for tat, you give me no reason to believe you can handle yourself like a gentleman. From your first response, you have been condescending towards me. If I disagree strongly with someone, I engage them by asking them to defend their statement. I don't disagree and say their posts are arrogant and ignorant. Then I don't proceed to cuss at them and call them lazy. I also don't tell them they need to go finish high school. In other words, I keep my emotions in check until because I've learned you have to. So be smug if you will. Move to San Fran and you'll fit right in.
  16. Mann. Once again I keep my cool and you are calling me childish. Finish high school and the cussing. You apologize and then go on a tirade. I hope you are on meds to control your anger. Okay, one last attempt at getting through to you here. You can look at closely at my statement as you want. Nowhere did I say the lacrosse players raped her. I said generally that the the BASTARDS who raped her get what they deserve. Is the Duke lacrosse team called the Duke bastards? It's obvious I've struck a cord with you and you've taken some things I've said personally. Maybe you have roots with Duke or something. Either way you should really stop being so angry with those who disagree with you. Emotions always get in the way of rational thinking. Plus, you're taking years off your life if you let people get under your skin so easily. Stress kills. Oh yeah, finished high school and college over a decade ago. Working and taking care of my family now. I'm willing to bet you're in college now and think you know everything(like most college kids). If I'm wrong about that, then I'll admit it. I may be more confident in my convictions than you like but I'll admit when I'm wrong. Can you?
  17. Quote: Innocent until proven guilty. It looks like my suspicions will be confirmed and DNA evidence will clear the lacrosse players. Also, time-stamped photos of the girl already beaten up and wasted before she even arrived at the party will also bolster their defense. Once again Eddielives, you seem to compose your posts with equal parts arrogance and ignorance. You call yourself super and I'm arrogant. Well, I may come off as arrogant to you SUPER but you are the one who resorted to childish namecalling. Sounds like you just can't handle opposing viewpoints. I can handle you calling me childish names without attacking you. As for Duke, if evidence arises that this girl is lying, then she should be justly punished under the law. Honestly, I haven't been keeping a close eye on what is going on recently with that story. If I am behind on certain facts that have come out, you could be a grown up and simply point them out SUPER. Nowhere in my statements did I say that the lacrosse players did rape her. I simply said that if she was raped by 3 of them of as she claimed, then the people who did it should suffer greatly. How is that ignorant? Plus, why did the entire team collectivly snub investigative efforts to get to the bottom of this story sooner? Duke and this lacrosse team made it real hard in the beginning to believe they were not covering up something by being so uncooperative with investigators. So I was consistent with what I knew to be true. No ignorance and maybe some arrogance but hey, deal with it.
  18. Quote: Quote: Okay...I'll take my beating now for those who want to call me anything but a child of God. I don't know what religion has to do with any of this, and I'm not religious, but I hope you don't claim to be a follower of the "judge not lest ye be judged" religion otherwise you are a major hypocrite The "child of God" thing was just an expression. Not sure if you're trying to be serious or just reaching to take a cheap shot at me. As for judging, we all judge. Every day we judge. I have no religious inclination to stop doing so. If you say you never judge, it's just denial to make yourself feel better. As for the Duke lacrosse team. The only thing I have to say about that is I hope the 3 bastards who raped that girl get the same treatment every night they spend in jail. It's too different a situation to compare it to Hodge.
  19. I would expect that type of mindless response from someone who doesn't want to even entertain the point I was trying to make. What I was saying and it turns out to be true(I had no idea when I wrote my statement that he actually was clubbing) was that he was out later than he should have been for a guy supposed to be establishing a career as an athlete during the season. When these guys are out late and partying, it is not surprising when something like this happens. It is not surprising because it happens too often. I never said he caused himself to be shot but merely put himself into a situation that as history shows, often ends up in violence...that is a professional athlete(particularly an NBA athlete) being out late clubbing during the season. Since my first conjecture turned out to be true, I'll piss you off even more and say that there probably, again probably, was an incident at that club involving the guy or guys who shot him. Was it provoked by Hodge and his, uh-oh here we go, POSSE!! The chances are high that it was something just like that. A bunch of dudes trying to be the biggest and baddest on the scene and what do you know...someone gets the feeling they've been dissed and out come the guns. It's all too predictable is my point. I do realize that it is possible that Hodge and his buddies were behaving like adults. However, be in bed asleep where you should be during the season at 2:00am and none of this happens. It's really that simple. If you are trying to say I think he deserved to be shot you are wrong. If you are trying to say I don't care that he was shot, you are again wrong. I just don't feel quite as sympathetic as most here will because when you choose to be out late clubbing at 2:00am on a Saturday night during the season, bad things are more likely to happen. Hodge did make a choice to be at this club that late when he should have been long gone. But I guess deciding to keep a low-profile and get some sleep so that you'll be ready for work the next day wouldn't be keeping it real huh?
  20. Is it really surprising to hear about NBA players or any high profile athelete anymore being involved in drama like this when they are out at wee hours of the morning when they should be in a hotel or at home? What is he doing out that late? I know he's an adult and can thus do whatever he wants but come on. Everytime we hear about an athelete being in a situation like this, it's always late late late. It's also why the NBA is viewed by many as a league of thugs. How many NBA players have been involved just in the past two years in acts of violence (whether they're the victim or not)? He should have been in a room somewhere sleeping or getting ready for his next days work. I'm also willing to bet that it wasn't just random. Was he clubbing earlier and got into an altercation that led to this? It's too improper to say for sure right now but I'm quite certain it had something to do with being out that late and being around the wrong crowd. What's the old saying? Nothing good happens after midnight or something like that? Okay...I'll take my beating now for those who want to call me anything but a child of God.
  21. Hawks are making a game of it but then.........Smoove for 3 and clank!! He's keeping us in the game defensively and killing us offensively. Oh well, he's still young.
  22. Let me clarify that I'm not 100% sure that Smoovethefuture over here is the same guy who calls himself EddyCurryJoshSmith over at realgm. They just seem to be eerily similiar. And I agree totally about Eddy Curry. He has to be my least favorite NBA player. Him and now that James guy out of Toronto saying pit-bulls are the sweetest dogs in the world. What a freaking moron. Please don't sign him Hawks!
  23. Aren't you EddyCurryJoshSmith over at realgm dude? I'm not trying to start a fight with you but you are one of those guys who seems to always post about Josh Smith...and only when he has good games. If this is the first time you have said anything bad about Joe, then you have to understand that when you start a topic in all caps you are angry and yelling. While I do agree that we had to overpay to get Joe, he has done a pretty damn good job to help us this year. So why use your first negative comments about him so harshly. EVERYONE has bad nights. Furthermore, the guy has to be exhausted. And one more thing, did I miss something or aren't we playing for nothing more than pride and ping-pong balls right now? It's not like he didn't show up and it cost us a playoff berth or anything of significance? All y'all jumping on Joe for a single bad game are free to do so but don't be surprised when others call you out on it.
  24. I honestly don't know who made that comparison. I would never have said that about Yao. You just seem to be using that comparison to diss Smits a bit is all I'm saying. If you ever saw him play, he was a solid big man who helped his team win for many years. He doesn't deserve to be knocked on because somebody made a silly comparison.
  25. You will have a stronger argument when Yao retires with numbers like he is putting up this year. Their career averages thus far are not that far apart. Plus Yao plays more minutes and has not done much to help his team in the playoffs like Smits did.
