What makes Marvin untouchable to me is that I have faith, unlike you, that Marvin will be the star he was "hyped" up to be. I agree that Paul is the best player of that class and is definitely the most untouchable. But it's wrong to have expected Paul and MW to have produced the same last year when they're at different stages of their respective careers. The only thing they have in common is that they were rookies. Paul had more experience and a bigger role to fill than MW. Marvin is still very, very young and will prove many naysayers wrong this season with notable overall improvement. As for Garnett, he is still a very valuable player but is probably past his prime and will continue to decline, if ever so slightly, each passing season. That's why he is not untouchable. I'm not willing to give up on either Smoove or MW, who have yet to approach their prime, in any trade for an aging superstar.

Marvin is untouchable at the moment. I know that pains W and D but it's the truth. The only trade I would consider for Garnett would be something like Al, Zaza and a future 1st.

I'll add to your points and say that Zaza needs to improve a bit on his defense. Don't get me wrong. I love his heart and fire but damn! His defense blew most of last year and that cannot happen again if we have a prayer of making the playoffs.

No doubt about it. We need to be legitimate players in this coming draft. I know some say we need to get passed thinking about stock-piling young talent via the draft. I just can't see that logic. Anytime you can draft a good player, and supposedly this one is going to have it's fair share, I don't care how good you are...you do it!

I still remember how he was the only bright spot for us against the Knicks in the playoffs. He came in and lit it up from three!! Hate to see that his career has been so plagued with injury. But that's life and I'm sure he's made the most of the money he's made. Seems like an all around great guy. I would love to see him make another attempt to play. I would root for him no matter where he was playing.

YOu know, I stopped reading after the pig statement. I don't think any guy who frequents this site doubts the pig in him. I sure don't. It's kind of part of our nature. The last thing a 10 year old needs is hype that he's going to be a basketball star. Why not just give him a hummer now and let his ego grow out of control. We wonder why the NBA has such a problem with off the court issues. It's because of this. This kid probably already thinks he's the baddest ass in the world. Wonder how his trash talking is? While more kids should be learning the reality of their chances to make the NBA and studying more, kids like this get exposure and continue to perpetuate the very unrealistic chances that any kid with b-ball skills is going to be a millionaire NBA player. Sorry, but I just see this kids life being potentially ruined by "hype" at such a young age.

I would have to strongly consider the Bosh trade. Mainly because drafting a guy that has JJ-like skills is not that hard to come by. Finding a proven big like Bosh is rare.

Try Team America World Police. Anything by Trey Parker and Matt Stone is worth viewing. I'm a hard guy to make laugh but those guys, with South Park and that movie have solidified themselves as legends in my mind.

I think a whole lot is going to depend on how Smoove can actualy hold down the 4 spot. If he continues to develop his game, then he will be fine at the 4. He just needs to get more of a low post game down first. If he does that, then just damn! His only problem then will be size and how he can keep from getting pushed around by some bigger 4's. We all know that he can block but can he play tougher defense. Marvin and Smoove have to get to the point where they deserve solid 30+minute roles at one position on this team. I don't like that statement by Bernie that they will split time at the 3. That's confusing to me but I'm no expert so what do I know?

Could it really be that the Hawks are going to try and trade for Dalembert? It is known that BK loves Dally's athleticism. Since it seems Mags is gone to Portland, the only other C I can think of is Mihm, which makes sense with a Lue for Mihm deal. I just wish this whole Al and mystery big pursuit would come to fruition. Damn the waiting!

If this is true, what a bunch of clowns. How could that have been the only route to get Belkin removed from the ownership. Sounds like they just used Belkin and his wealth to get the team and were looking for a way to get him out as soon as possible. Well, things didn't turn out the way they planned. Pardon my not being totally clear on this but is Lazy Lo Lorenzen Wright? If he is then I can't believe we gave up two 1st's for him!! Holy crap that's terrible! I hadn't been a Hawks fan for too long at the time but I do remember acquiring him. How could we have given up that much for him?

When you consider how close Al and J O'Neal are, the fact that Granger could learn alot from Al and the possible fan backlash from not having more to show for the Artest/Peja situation, I think it makes sense. Plus, he knows their system and would help them be playoff contenders much moreso than just saying Granger could fill the role of what Al could do. I do love Granger though.

I hear you. But it's not Bush's job to approach getting paid with sympathy for a situation he has no control over like what has happened in NO or the fact that he was taken number 2 behind a lower-profile position and player. If owners are going to issue insane amounts of money to players, then the player should fight for as much as he can possibly get. I hate how contracts just keep getting more bloated as time goes by. I do, however, think this is an issue that is going to have to be addressed somehow in sports as a whole or we're going to have more and more strikes. It's a big mess.

Why shouldn't he hold out? He is the most high profile player to come out of the draft with the most potential for immediate impact. He deserves as much or more as Young is getting right??

Marvin and Josh are gonna get 15, 7 and 4 this year respectively. SMOOVE, not SmooTH, will throw in his perfunctory 2 blocks as well. Mark it down as my prediction. Call me out if it doesn't happen. It WILL happen as sure as the sun rises in the east!!
