  1. I’m aware his contract WAAAYY overpays him and that he has MAJOR flaws in his game (defensively and as a high volume/low efficiency scorer) but would anyone else be interested in trading for Andrew Wiggins? I think his size and slashing game would be a nice contrast/complement to Trae Young’s and maybe Pierce can work on his defense. Again: Not a perfect player but perhaps worth the risk? Anyone else feel similarly?
  2. I’m not saying it’s likely or even that I myself would do it, but with the recent drama between Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs I’m curious if you all would attempt to trade for him. (This scenario assumes we get a pick in the the #3-#6 range and miss out on Ayton and Doncic; if we DID get a top 2 pick we definitely keep it IMO). Would you all be willing to trade Bazemore, our lottery pick, the Wolves pick, and the Rockets pick for Kawhi? Would San Antonio scoff at such an offer? I have to admit I hate to give up a pick we tanked all season for but I think Leonard is the type of cornerstone player you do it for. He’s easily one of the best two way players in the league and he and Bud were pretty close from what I recall reading. By himself Kawhi doesn’t make us a contender but in another year once Plumlee’s contract comes off the books...make an offer to Klay Thompson...we might have something. Any thoughts?
  3. I don't watch a lot of college hoops so I have a question for those that do: Is there a former or current player that is comparable to Collins? Just from what I saw in the videos you all posted is Amare Stoudamire a fair comparison?
  4. I got this email too but I didn't see any mention of an actual draft party. Am I missing it in the message?
  5. Does anyone know if they're doing a draft party this year? They usually do one at Phillips but with the renovations going on I wasn't sure if it's still happening. Just wondering; my buddies and I always have a blast at them every year.
  6. If we had Carmelo starting in the Bazemore spot would it move the needle for us? IMO Dennis, Hardaway, Melo, Sap, and Dwight matches up VERY WELL with Cleveland and honestly they're the only legitimate contender in the east. I believe Carmelo has a no trade clause so everything is moot if he's happy in New York but if he's NOT would Bazemore, Splitter (filler) and a protected 1st be too much too little or just right? (I'm honestly curious) So 1) Would you? 2) Would NY ? and 3)What would it take?
  7. Someone mentioned this in the Dwight thread but I thought it merited its own trade forum post. If we resign Al and pick up Dwight would you all be open to trading Milsap to the Celtics for Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder? (works on the ESPN Trade Machine for what it's worth) PG Dennis SG Bradley SF Crowder PF Al C Dwight is an INSANELY gifted defensive team that's also pretty darn balanced. I think that five would REALLY give the Cavs all they could handle. Hate to lose Paul but I think I'd still do it. Thoughts?
  8. How about Joakim Noah? Only one year left on his contract so Chicago might give him up for the right deal I've always LOVED his game, passion, and synergy with Al Solves our rim protection and rebounding problems too
  9. Don't know if anyone mentioned it earlier in the thread but did you all read the part about mock ups for new uniforms? I love that kind of stuff and I think it's past time we moved on from our inoffensive but kind of boring current ones
  10. I know, I know we have the best record in the east and fantastic chemistry... Still, the playoffs are gonna be a war, we need all the help we can get, and there's no margin of error (we need to plan for series against some combination of Chicago, Washington, Toronto, and Cleveland) How about David West off the bench filling the minutes Pero and Mike Scott currently play? He seems like a Bud type player; a team first vet who can shoot, pass, and has a high BBIQ He's also tough as nails, a great rebounder, and a playoff gamer (remember: he's the one who saved the Pacers in our series last year) Wouldn't you feel more confident with him out there in crunch time instead of Pero or Scott? I would offer Indy those two and our Brooklyn pick with some sort of protections on it Obviously a large contingent of the Squawk do not want to make ANY trade (and I respect that) but those of you who ARE willing to make a move do you think West would put us over the top?
  11. While that Teague pic is blasphemous... I do love those Sonics jerseys; they remind me a lot of our classics Anyone else feel like NBA logos and jerseys reached their apex in the 80s?
  12. I asked in a previous Homecourt thread what we needed to put us over the top and the consensus was that we lacked rebounding and shot blocking (I agree) Would Larry Sanders fix these issues for us? I don't know a ton about him (except he had some off the court issues last year) but he seems to be in that sweet spot for trades in that he fills a glaring need and would appear to be somewhat available. Like most of you I would like to ADD to our core rather than swap out a key piece. Do you think he could be had for some sort of draft pick and supplementary player combination?
  13. Opening cavet: Super impressed with our team thus far; LOVE these Hawks and how they play together under Bud That being said... Do any of us see this teaming winning the East? Possible yes; probable no So my question to you all is this: What do we need to put us over the top? (For reference think Sheed with the 04 Pistons) Not necessarily WHO we should trade for but what attributes we lack Any ideas?
  14. Wow the PAC/ color scheme is LEGIT!! Any idea if that is the plan in real life or is this just something you created on the game? Awesome!
  15. I 100% agree with the last poster If the Cavs are serious about enticing LeBron back a veteran like Al looks a lot better than a rookie wing who plays the same position (Wiggins or Parker; Embiid is O-U-T) For us: Parker is a Dukie (like Ferry), is a lights out shooter (for Bud), and is probably the safest pick at #1 (for Hawksquawk :) That's three for three in my book :)
  16. Forgive me for continuing to bring this up but I'm surprised there's not more talk about Pau If he came here at a Milsap like salary he would check so many boxes for this team: -Great passer -Great shooter -Great teammate -High BBIQ -Championship experience -Moves Al to PF What am I missing? Why all the talk about guys like Asik and Hawes and not Pau?
  17. To me the best uniforms are ones you could wear out in the street or at a party (our old ones, the celtics, lakers, etc.) I don't hate our current ones but they don't have that "classic" look As far as color scheme goes: all I can say is how AMAZING did Philips look in Game 6 when it was a sea of red? The red made the Highlight Factory an intimidating place to play; "Hotlanta"
  18. I'm still super hyped about the return of the PAC-man but I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything about new unis in the pipeline? Any chance we'll go back to red/yellow? Thanks!
  19. It's probably not a popular idea but would you all consider Horford to PHX for Alex Len and whatever the Suns highest pick is? I know we all love Al but we're not 1 or 2 pieces away from a title and our window with Al is probably 2 years and closing Maybe we get a lotto center from last year and another draft pick to go with our own and start laying a foundation?
  20. I've said before in other threads but if he has anything left in the tank and if he's willing to take a Milsap like contract... Pau Gasol and Bud's system would be a perfect match for one another A frontline of Gasol, Horford, and Milsap would be an absolute joy to watch. All of those guys are fantastic passers, good shooters, and really high character players Get a steal shooting guard at #15 to pair with Teague and we might have something special
  21. Some are saying we're giving up to much and others are saying Utah is; I'll take that to mean its a pretty balanced trade :)
  22. Yeah I did think of thatMaybe they're at the point we were when we traded the Gasol pick for Shariff (not that that was a good strategy in retrospect):)
  23. I know we can't actually trade until the offseason but this place was gathering cobwebs so I decided to break one out...If Utah struck out in the lottery and ended up with a pick in the 5-10 range do you think they'd be open to dealing it with Enes Kanter for Horford?I think Kanter plus 2 lottery picks plus who ever else we sign in free agency would be an AMAZING offseason and something to really build onWould the Jazz need something more to bite?
  24. Some of you mentioned bringing Korver of the bench...Anyone else get the feeling we're going to make a run at Gordon Hayward this offseason? Seems like a Ferry type guy (High BB IQ, good shooter, modest contract, former Jazz player :)How would you all feel about his signing?
  25. I actually like it but I'm still disappointed; I had hoped we were reaching the end of the blue/white/red color-scheme and this logo would indicate otherwiseI just always felt the red/yellow Hawks better represented Hotlanta (plus like 20 teams have red/white/blue; only us and the Rockets ever had the red/yellow)But the modern pacman is nice though...
