  1. Thanks to ATL_Baller for organizing and finding the place to play and everything. I had a good time and managed to get some garbage buckets and rebounds. Exodus tore me up in the 3 on 3 game we played, he's a quick, strong dude, and he was making all his shots. Baller and TroyMclure had nice outside games and made some nice passes. Hopefully we'll have another one of these sometime with some more people!
  2. Wow, that's an awesome collection. I know nothing about card collecting but that is pretty cool. I hope Smoove becomes a Hall of Famer and you get your money's worth out of those.
  3. Quote: Lets not forget the Hawks are beating mostly below 500 teams which makes a difference why there winning. Now if you can come out and beat teams like Phoenix,San Antonio,Miami then I would believe. Until the Hawks beat 500+ teams consistenlty then we are just another below average team. That's true, on this run we are mostly beating bad teams, but I don't mind one bit. If the Hawks beat every team they played that had a below 500 record, that'd be a big step up from where they were earlier in the season. You have to start somewhere, and beating teams you are supposed to beat is a really important step. You'll never be great if you let bad teams beat you consistently.
  4. I assume this was posted because of this quote? "The way they are playing now, it doesn't matter who comes back," said Lakers Coach Phil Jackson, obviously upset. "Jesus Christ could come back and we still wouldn't have a chance because we've ruined the mix by not playing together."
  5. Randoph Morris if we don't get a decent big man in the draft. He is a free agent.
  6. Regardless of who our point guard is, they need to push the ball up the court more, in my opinion. Josh Smith is the only one who does this right now. It seems like our regular PG's and JJ are content to dribble the ball up slowly and set up a half court game, but I think our gameplan should be to push it up. I don't know if this has more to do with Woody or to do with the players bringing the ball up the court.
  7. It's always fun when you're winning!
  8. Yeah, I'm happy to see Salim get some PT and make good on it. It is nice to see our guys upbeat too. I hope that after this stretch, Woody (or our new coach next year, maybe?) see that we have a team with or without JJ. Having a player like JJ should just make us that much better. It would be nice to have JJ know that other guys can make a play when given the chance and to actually make that a point in our offensive plan. The way JJ gets double and triple teamed, there should be guys open every play down the stretch of a game.
  9. Quote: That's not to say JC is useless - but you cannot extrapolate his shooting percentage as if he could shoot at will. He can't. This is the key. There is no way anyone is going to get 25-30 open looks and layups a night, at least on the Hawks. Also, once you start giving him 25 shots a night, teams are going to focus on keeping him on lockdown, rather than letting him get those jumpers in the corners and easy layups on the baseline. I agree he's a good piece and could be a nice Shawn Marion type player, but just isn't agressive enough and doesn't have the ability or instinct to create his own shot and take over a game like a superstar.
  10. Quote: With these things, would Noah end up a happy Hawk if drafted by the good guys? I'm a Gator fan too and I have thought of the same sort of thing. I've come to the conclusion that I would probably rather have him be drafted by a team that he fits in with well. I agree with a lot of your points. He is an energy guy and that is one of his biggest assets. On the Hawks, his energy would be great to have, but I would hate to see him in a losing situation, for him and his team. He doesn't create too many of his own shots, he gets by on offense with energy, good post position, good entry passes, garbage and fast break opportunities. I know he would be an asset for the Hawks on defense and rebounding, but I'm still not sure how he would match up with bigger NBA centers. I think he could put on some more weight and scrap with the big guys, but I'm not sure that is ideal. I think it sort of depends on what the rest of the Hawks situation is. If the Hawks get a new coach who picks up the tempo a bit, and if they can get a good PG who can create shots for other people, I think he could be a good fit.
  11. Quote: Quote: I'd pay the change in my glove compartment to watch these epic word warriors battle it out on the court. I think Walter is still recovering from surgery. I don't think Diesel plays, at least i have never seen him claim to play. If we have enough people, they could be coaches Or GM's! Let them make the teams and coach. Then we can decide if they really could do a better job than BK and Woody.
  12. I'm in, I live near Briarcliff so that would be perfect.
  13. If Solomon and Shelden don't get at least 15 minutes of playing time tonight, I'm going to be mad. I think they should use this lineup and get everyone a bunch of PT: AJ/Lue/Chillz/Salim Chillz/AJ/Salim JSmith/Chillz Shelden/Solomon Zaza/Wright/Batista

Wow, Joe might have twisted his ankle, and Marvin has a busted butt. Things are looking good.

Quote: it was 17 to 11. jesus. I remember something like this against the Bulls the other week. We are playing pretty horribly.

Looks like the Hawks might be tanking, Shelden and Batman are getting playing time in the first quarter. Or they are just working a game long "hack-a-shaq" gameplan.
  17. Quote: What are you talking about? No one comes now. Our home game support is an embarrassment. I went to some earlier in the year but I got tired of seeing them lose and having to pay money for it.
  18. That was a good job by Josh Smith of altering Marbury's shot on that last drive, without fouling.
  19. It's interesting listening to the Knicks announcers talk about how the Hawks should play a more fast paced game and push the ball up the floor instead of walking it up.
  20. Quote: If Marvin is hot, Woody will pull him.. Are the yellow uni's becoming our new aways? I heard something on the radio about the league rules saying they have to wear them 6 times a year. This is #3.
  21. I love the puppy bowl, I watch it every year. Kitten halftime show is generally better than the actual super bowl halftime show.
  22. Hawks need to put a body on someone when the shot goes up. They are giving up all kinds of offensive rebounds.
  23. I'm up for a game on the weekend sometime here in Atlanta or anywhere pretty close by (marietta, roswell, gwinett maybe, etc). I usually play pick-up games at the YMCA once or twice a week. This would be fun. Also, does anyone know of any public basketball leagues in Atlanta? The only ones I have ever heard people talk about are church leagues. I'd love to play competitive ball but I don't know how to find a league.
  24. Quote: The losing is being caused by the impeccably dressed man sitting on the Hawks bench. You'll spot him. You're blaming it all on Speedy?
