  1. I heard that the third guy is totally innocent - apparently he went in the convenience store to go to the bathroom when the other two decided to hold someone up - he aparently had no idea what was going on.
  2. Agreed. It's a shame we let Chavis get away.
  3. It's not a real practice without Steve the Baptist (Esteban Batista).
  4. It suddenly strikes me that maybe the owners wanted to can Woody like BK demanded, but Belkin balked to put the heat on Knight. Maybe Belk is the only thing standing between Woody and the door.
  5. I don't know the details of the insurance contract, but I doubt they will pay after they hear he is now able to play. Pretty timely article for this discussion: AJC article
  6. We don't really know if Speedy is injured at this point or is simply in Woody's black hole, like that other vet guard we ended up cutting loose a couple years ago.
  7. Thanks, AHF. Priceless. Maybe if he's convicted of perjury his punishment could be frying his nads in an iron skillet for a couple minutes. He'd like that though. AND he'd come back out of retirement and take the mound immediately. In the first inning of that game, it would be a BIG MISTAKE to shower any bat fragments near the mound.
  8. And Wainwright. He was mortgaging the future hoping to add one more trophy to his mantel, knowing he would quit soon.
  9. Atlien, how did you get the squiggle over the "n" in "senor?"
  10. Very tough - back to back, in Boston where we haven't played too well in the past. No Josh. On the other hand, adrenaline has got to be at an alltime high. We have a score to settle with the green guys. I will definitely be watching.
  11. I was wrong also. Anyone know how Dorsey is doing?
  12. I remember we were trying to trade up, but I didn't know the specifics. I would have done the trade for JT and the picks in a heartbeat. I have never been a JT fan. He was good as a role player in a disciplined system in Dallas a couple of years ago, but I didn't like him in ATL where he had to be "the man." He just wasn't consistent enough to do that. In hindsight, the only thing that gives me a millisecond's pause is parting with Josh, who could be a true stud. I would have no problem trading Chill, Deng or AI Jr. for Howard. However, the pause was only for a millisecond - I pull the trigger. Howard is fantastic. Best 5 in the league.
  13. Thanks, Buck. the Hawks exec that did the summer league blog (I can almost remember his name) was impressed by him, so I want to see him. I really want to see R. Morris. Last game would have been a great opportunity - on the same floor with Josh and Dwight. Josh is going to make Morris get up and down the court, play defense, dive on the floor, I'm thinking. Morris supposedly has good offensive skills down low - something no one else is strong with on this team. Seems like his problem has always been effort, at Ky and in NY. But Josh would let him hear it if he didn't bust it on the court for us. We know what Speedy can do. For those in the other thread that said a healthy Speedy no longer exists, I'm not so sure. Hamp seemed like the Braves' most effective starter the last month of the season, which is a heck of a lot more surprising than if Speedy has returned to form.
