  1. Florida has been solid in basketball for most of Donovan's tenure, even before the championship run. Texas has always been pretty good in both, but I can't recall any championships in hoops. Those are two that stand out in my mind.
  2. Crawford's not a role player. He's averaging over 20 ppg and has gone for 50 at least once in his career. He's streaky, but he can go off for huge games at times. I agree with your point though.
  3. There's only 4 number 1's to go around though, and the 4 who got them all won their conference tourneys. Who would you drop? I think Butler got hosed by getting a 7 seed personally.
  4. I don't think NBA teams have curfews, except for the Kings with Theus. I seem to recall that being a big deal that he was going to implement a curfew.
  5. "Bibby's a great point guard. And Acie can learn a lot from him. Bibby's a proven scorer and a proven winner in this league. If you could trade me and AJ for Bibby, you've definitely upgraded the point-guard position." - TLue in AJC article I agree with him, just thought it was kind of funny that he said Bibby is an upgrade over him.
  6. Particularly Zaza for me. At least Lue has hit a few big shots for us and we wouldn't have to worry about Woody playing Lue over Bibby for the most part (at least I hope not).
  7. I don't think the Heat would be capable of playing up-tempo with Wade shooting 20-25 free throws a game (or is that just against us?). That style just lulls you to sleep. It's not conducive to playing up-tempo.
  8. I just checked nbadraft.net and they don't have Lofton going in either the '08 or '09 draft. I'm not sure what year he is, but I would assume that means they don't expect him to be drafted. One other interesting note, 6 of the top 7 in the '08 draft are freshman and none are named OJ Mayo.
  9. I agree, Andre Miller is not worth a future first rounder to me.
  10. My initial thought was that it's BS, but after further consideration I think it could be a great opportunity to pick up two games in the standings late in the season in one night. That's the bright side I guess.
  11. Yeah, Vick should be on there. From that list though, I picked Speedy because I don't think Petrino was a good fit anyway, even though I don't like how he left. So I think it's a blessing in disguise on that one.
  12. Woodson needs to do his best Belicek impersonation to keep them grounded and focused on the next game and only the next game. He seems to be doing well thus far though, because JJ seemed pretty grounded in his postgame interview last night.
  13. I was surprised when Ryan Cameron announced it was the 6th because the scoreboard said 5 too. I think the basketball gods gave him an extra foul though for that no call when Marvin was attacked at the end of regulation.
  14. Sly has been caught in Australia, but the Owens brothers? How did they make your list?
  15. "When asked what the three NBA cities he was most concerned about bringing his team to the night before a game, Rivers said: "Miami, Miami, and Miami. Probably, Miami, L.A., and Atlanta. I always thought we had a home-court advantage when I played for the Hawks. Of course, no one came." -- Boston Globe If we continue to improve and stay in the playoff chase, I would think Philips will start to get some big crowds and we can exploit this natural home court advantage.
