I'm deflated.  Was holding out hope that with a few extra days he'd be ready for Games 3 and 4.  I really hope the team isn't deflated from this news.  They still have a chance to get past Philly, but dang it's going to be hard.

I'd start Tony but give him limited minutes and get Huerter in quickly. Something like this...

    Trae - 40 min

    Lou - 10 min

    Bogie - 40 min

    Kev - 40 min

    Tony - 14 min

I'm sure the team was disappointed but I think Nate and Trae will remind them how well they played when they had to roll without Deandre all those games after Nate took on the Head Coach role. It was the regular season and definitely having Dre would help here in the postseason as it did for sure against the NYK but they only need to see that they won Game 1 and fought hard in Game 2 on the road with the final score of that game not indicative of how a large part of the game went, and quite a few mistakes made that weren't previously.

All tear sizes and locations aren't the smae.  This is Hunter's 2nd tear....and yeah, I don't believe Joel 'Faker' Embiid

I have a really good feeling if the Hawks keep playing their style, playing the right way, not letting referees get in their heads. Embiid and the 6ers staff for that matter are tempting fate. I doubt he is injured so it seems likely the team is trying to play a mental game with the Hawks.  Even if it was a flap type meniscus tear, if they're letting him play they are literally playing the lottery with their aspirations, his knee could lock up on him.  Just keep doing your thing Hawks.

We got the one we needed on the road. Ya, 2/2 would have been nice. No excuses shots didn’t fall today both Trae and Bogi 6-16 fg apiece for 12/32=37.5%  That should happen again at home.

We were being rushed. Nothing taken away from Sixers, we lost.

@Jody23 what do we do now? :indifferent:

It will be interesting to see if Embiid gets those calls in ATL he got in PHI. Arguably he should have been ejected from tonight's game when he got into it with Gallo. At least 3 things he did that warranted a technical, including one which should have been an automatic T where he waved off the referee after getting a T.

I’m starting to buy into the idea ain’t nothing wrong with Joel’s knee.

1-1 in Philly without our best perimeter defender. Get healthy. Regroup. Get ready for Friday. long series ahead of us.

Agreed, I don't think the Hawks bought into Joel's Willis Reed impression either.

Safe for work topic, I know it sounds bad I’m sorry.

@Gray Mule had to bring up the corn dog topic. Hadn’t seen it discussed this postseason. 🌭

Personally, I’m gonna have trouble starting the tradition in the middle of a series. But the squawk unity concept was fun...that and...well I like to eat I’m not gonna lie.

Spud, Anytime the Hawks had a game and I happened to be at a gas station and they had corn dogs I got one, ever since. lol. its the only time I ever eat corn dogs! back to smoothies on off days 😉

    On the Hawks side:

    • Gallo needs to find his flame thrower, he was horrible 3-11 (1-7 from 3), 1 reb, 1 assist ...he did have a steal and a block though.
    • Do a better job on our defensive boards, they had 13 O-Rebs, we had 7.
    • Our rim protection is nil when Capela sits
    • Get a handle on Quickley
    • Taj Gibson - we need to push back, he is straight assaulting us - toughen up
    • I think the 'ALL 2nd unit' needs a closer look, not sure it's effective
    • The Huerter, Collins, Gallo defensive lineup.....do not like much.

Need to do a much better job on keeping Rose out of the paint

Bogi splits before Nate, after Nate.

    Pre Nate - 9.4 PPG and 34ish % from 3.

    Post Nate 18.7 ppg. April-May 22 ppg shooting 50% and 49+% from 3.

I'd say thats a difference. Suffice it to say Bogi wasn't too pleased with the offensive sets run under LP for good reason as it turned out.

If Deandre Hunter can revert to the form he showed at the beginning of this season that is more than just an X factor vs the Knicks, joining Bogi whose playing out of his mind, of course Trae, Collins and Capela, then you still got Snell, Heurter, Lou, OO (improving all year and learning lots from CC) - on paper its not even close we win with those guys. No question in my mind, key words, on paper. Correctly said the main question is have had they enough time together to have the right chemistry. Excited to find out.

I even left out Gallo. This team is scary deep, fully healthy should be able to play very well in 4th Quarter OT due to having all the fresh bodies. rare luxury to have the ability to go more than 8 or 9 deep in playoff rotation.

Projected Hawks starters have played 16 minutes together total across 5 games. There's just no way to scout that.  Now the big question is whether that group is a good as we all think it is and whether they will show it in the playoffs.  I'll admit it's an unknown.  We all just assume they will play as well as they can despite having such little time together.

Figured the media would jump hard on knicks but gotta admit I wasn't expecting THAT lopsided.  A lotta folks in for a rude awakening I think.  And again I'll just say, I don't think people are actually stopping to think about the Hawks being healthy for the first time all season. We've seen all of our guys individually for stretches throughout the season but really never seen them all together.  This could be a fun ride.

They are also not thinking about the Hawks team while Coached by McMillan vs Pierce, 2 different teams.  The only way I see Knicks winning this series is if they AVERAGE as a team around 40% from 3FG overall, tall task in playoffs.

Gallo is the real x-factor in my opinion. Bogi has been so consistent, if Gallo is on we are pretty much unbeatable.

It will be interesting to have Snell available as well, he's not the greatest defender but hes no slouch either due to his 'linth' and moves better than Solo vs quicker wing guys. More importantly than that, his ability to stretch the floor to complement what Hawks already have in this department could REALLY open things up for Trae.

Oh wow, wait Collins or Bogi? Both kind of been lights out I don’t look at stats much. Well that’s a lie I do in fantasy but that ended a minute ago... I digress

Collins is probably pretty close too! Both those guys are efficient as all get out on in this offense. Luxury to have.

It didn't come out so great but this is Bogi's stats since the AS break he's 48.9%/46.2%/90.9%  FG % / 3FG%/ FT%

    image.png

Here is John's since AS break he's 58.5%/41.0%/80.2%
