And doing it with a stretch where he really struggled after returning from injury.  Playing like he is now makes him a prohibitive favorite for an All-Star selection if he can keep it up next year.  Really, I think Trae, Clint and Bogi all should have very strong cases if they play like this next season.  JC isn't far off either.  It was only our lack of team success (both this season and track record from the prior years) that kept us out this year.

I haven't looked up the stats but if you exclude the couple weeks after the injury from his stats, you could be looking at 50% / 40% / 90% easily.

Agree can’t take anyone light these guys are in the NBA for a reason, having said that Beal is a huge part of what they do as far as their recent success. At least half of it.

I'm amazed how well we played without Trae, though thats coaching.  We are like night and day coaching wise.  No way we win most those game with Lloyd missing Trae.

For the most part, we do need the Knicks to lose a couple more, maybe to the Lakers and another one. Go AD! Get it!

I blame the Clippers not helping us out on Lue! cmon man, sit Kawhi don't let him hurt the team like that trying to adjust his shot to compensate for a hand injury. He goes 9 for 27 SMDH

I seem to recall IND was missing at least one key player the other night. Just sayin.

Would like to think that loss had more to do with the physical implications of the back-to-back than any mental letdown, of course.

The focus is always on the team that loses having a let down - I think often ignored is the "next man up" factor giving the winning team an edge in such a situation. The Hawks have played that way on occasion this season when missing key guys.

... oh and another thing ...

One of my extreme gripes previously was that we, at times, played as if we were looking for excuses to lose.  Coincidentally, the 'process' 6ers played like that as well (see a connection?).  This attitude that, "oh well, we're supposed to lose tonight so I guess we're gonna lose".

Other teams, good teams, play with a true 'next man up' mentality.  They don't just say it.  I feel like we've been saying it but didn't really believe it.

Starter out?  So, let's go out and (try to) win.  2 starters out?  So, let's go out and (try to) win.  It's Tuesday in Salt Lake?  So, let's go out and (try to) win.

Of course, you don't always win but that's how culture is set.

So I say, again, Management what more do you need to see?  I'm sure there's some new guy out there that looks cute in a warm-up but maybe the guy with a beer belly is a better choice.

Folks thinking this, and other wins, suggests we're better without certain players?  Well, maybe think a little deeper.

The fact that play doesn't tapper off when certain guys are out isn't an indication that the team is better off without.  It's an indication that the team is actually trying (cul-cha).

Or are you suggesting you prefer the team lay their a** down just because so-and-so is out?

This. How many times have we seen a decent Hawks team fully healthy lose to a team missing a star or two? This accusation could be made of Bud's teams outside of the 60 win team.

Knicks got lucky he went down but something is telling me it’s going to be knicks vs hawks rd 1

Very possible its going to be interesting down the stretch because the 6ers twice, Wiz twice isn't going to be easy. The Knicks have a tough 6 game road trip coming up against the West.  Can't have a letdown against Detroit tomorrow on b2b.

9-3 prediction was right on! 🥳 4 of us had this prediction, well 5 if you count @RedDawg#8 but he didn’t officially vote 🗳 @Spud2nique @LucastheThird @turnermx @h4wkfan,  The latter two voted for Trae as the MVP during this stretch, unfortunately he wasn’t the one during this stretch, @LucastheThird had Bogi and @Spud2nique had Capela.

    Who gets it?

Who had the better numbers for the tiebreaker, Bogi or Capela?

    WE WIN!!!!!!

Bogi and Capela should share the honor, co-MVPs!   if Capela hadn't bruised his tailbone we're probably 10-2.

    Amen.

Also helps that we match up well against them with Clint and JC together  on our front line. The way Gwu has come on strong lately I think we outmatch them in the paint for 48 minutes. Not so much against Knicks or Heat. Hornets will be tough for us if Hayward is back.

Louis gave less than nothing if you’re going by his ridiculous +/- of -27.

Can’t really fault Trae too much, he didn’t force his offense just missed a lot of ridiculous bunnies.  Can’t follow this narrative that he should have sat out either.  This board has been railing against the training staff to the point of wanting them completely replaced because of guys missing games and worrying that the missing players won’t have enough time to gel but then Trae comes back and it’s “he should sit until he’s 100%”

I think Trae wasn't at 100% but healthy enough to play just was rusty and couldn't get in a rhythm. He'll be fine and hopefully he learned a valuable lesson... he might just be pressing on national TV too. I couldn't watch because I have LP no TNT. so thatswhat I got listening to Steve Holman.

This is def true, but this team has been without its best perimeter defenders for most of the season.  If you have a Cam, Hunter, and Dunn on the perimeter, the defense won't suck as much when Capela isn't on the floor.

So true, though i'm sure it is nice for any of our wings to know Capela is back there just in case.   I'm sure yall are thinking about the Grizz game, they have a top 10 rebounding center, that was the worst game for Ah Capella to miss (had to steal it Spud, lol).

Okongwu is going to be fine defensively, he's just raw right now but I've seen great improvement in him since Nate became HC.

No need to be bashful.  Just tell us what you think!

That would be grand.  If we split, 4-4, we stay above .500.  With all our help coming back, I see no reason for us to lose more than 2 or 3.  6-2 is my guess.  Make them wonder why we didn't make their old all star list.

    :smug:

I'm really hoping we go 5-3 because if we do we come back over .500 against WC and on the road. That would be sweet.
