  1. The difference between Josh and Milsap is 5-6 million a year. The difference between a good player and a very good player. Josh led the Hawks last year. Without him we would have ping-pong balls in the draft.

I know one thing that will come out of this offseason, we will see how Josh affected this team as we compare to Millsap. Will there be a difference because we will not have the empty trips form Josh's 22 1/2 footers, passes in the front row or his lack of a box out. Or will we miss his energy and defensive presence, I think we are set up to get a true grasp on how bad/good Josh was here.

  2. I posted this in another thread but I'll say it here again for those of you that are hard of thinking.

Detroit posted a 17 million dollar cap hit last year for Richard Hamilton (not with the team) and Corey Maggette (5 ppg) and replace them with Josh Smith and Kentavius Caldwell-Pope for 16 million. They basically added these 2 players for a negative 1 million dollars.

Detroit was 29-53 last year but lost a ton of games by less than 7 points in the last few minutes. Their point differential was only - 3.9 average.

Atlanta on the other hand lost Smith, Pachulia, Harris and replaced them Demarre Carroll, Paul Milsap and rookies who will be stashed overseas. We'll be the ones winning 29 games this year.

Our average point differential last year was a positive .5. A half a point a game. We are in trouble people and have no business making fun of Detroit.

If Teague returns or we get Jennings, and Lou is healthy, the Detroit Pistons, will not be better than the Atlanta Hawks.

  3. Not true. Atlanta is a super star town. There were no Falcons fans before Michael Vick. Now the Dome has some of the best tailgating in the country. Miami never supported the Heat until they became championship contenders. We not only have to win, but we have to be the "cool" team. If we would have landed CP3 and Dwight we would have become that team. With Bynum we'd have become the light version of that team. Ferry doesn't care about winning the press conference, but that is exactly what he HAS to do.

I'm not from Atlanta, nor do I live there, curious...fans didn't support the 2 legit to quit dirty birds?

  4. It would be no surprise if Demarcus Cousins demands the Kings sign and trade him or let him walk in free agency.I think we will have the cap space to sign him or the assets to sign & trade for him.Hoping the Kings suck this year and Cousins demands to leave.

I rather take my chances with the 2015 center FAs, if you truly want to move Al to PF.

  5. I like Ivan but not at C.Is Mozgov really available ? I would prefer him too.

Ivan can play backup center against most teams in todays NBA. What is wrong with everybody, suddenly theres a notion that stud centers are winning championships is the NBA. Al is a top 5 center. What we really need is a very good backup with size that can defend bigger centers, like Daly.

  6. Honestly, Detroit has a potential superstar at center, a potentially All Star level PF and a PG who has massive effort and is still growing and could become a good PG in the future. Detroit is in a much better spot than the Hawks right now.

Damn, that sounds just like the Hawks right now.

  7. I think we're a worse team than we were this past year so tanking is still in play IMHO. I still think Horford's gonna ask to be traded actually. I wouldn't blame him either.

You don't even know who will on the team yet. lol

My bad, I am in the pessimistic thread.

  8. Was hoping someone knew something about Muscala other than he is a Center --- Because with ZaZa gone, Bynum signing elsewhere, Pekovic and Asik being low odds to acquire --- we may be entering the year with Muscala

That dude can't start, he is more finesse than we need in a starting center. Time to get a vet in here quickly, hopefully Daly.

I did joke earlier today that Cavs would sign Bynum and the Mavs would get Daly...I hope we can get Daly. If we don't, probably would have to resign Petro.

  9. Agreed. Who'd want a starting C who had PER36 numbers of 15 points, 13 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and shot 54% last year. Scrub!

Dalembert would fit nicely for 2 years, the 2015 Center Free Agent class is very deep, if BeBe does not pan out. Dalembert can still play.

  10. The way some of you guys sh*t on Teague is disgusting and probably one of the reasons nobody wants to play here.

You ain't lying,..I get that one may think that Teague is not great or won't become great, but he clearly has improved in the 2 years of playing time.
