  1. That was painful seeing him one on one with freaking Hollins and not being able to abuse him. The shot wasn't close. Thank goodness we actually moved the ball down the stretch and didn't go into iso-Joe except for a few unsuccessful times.

    Painful to me as well, he needs to restructure his game severely in the offseason, or else he is going to get amnestied soon.
  2. So voice of reason... is this a weak attempt to change the freakin subject? VOR.. Nobody gives two squirrel covers about your freakin agenda right now. The true Hawks fans need to vent and you're sounding more and more like a freakin Infidel. We don't have time for your infidelity. Put your Boston Celtics #1 finger back in the closet and keep it moving.

    Dude you are my fukin idol
  3. Horf's freethrow....Josh's shot was stupid as fuk but Horford had a chance to tie the game. I don't see how people can think Josh's shot is worse considering the fact that Horford was given a FREE, WIDE OPEN shot. Granted there is a lot more pressure in Horf's situation, it was still worse for me as a fan when Horf missed the shot.

  4. Remember how you were always told that "life isn't fair", well this is the situation with the Hawks.People don't pay to watch the Hawks, People pay to watch Boston, Miami, OKC, Lakers, etc...We will never win a championship until Stern believes that we can make him a decent profit come playoff time. No matter how balanced of a team we have, until we have that one IT factor that casual fans will pay to see we will never win a championship. The NBA is rigged, it has always been. Teams like the Hawks won't win unless we have a superstar ala Dirk, Durant, Bryant, Lebron, Wade, PP, KG etc...

  5. Funny thing is, I'm okay with criticism - factual criticism. The board in general tends to lean toward hyperbole and exaggeration.

    So then tell me...which criticism is a hyperbole: josh should not be shooting jumpers, he should not be camped out of the paint considering that he is our best finisher and rebounder, he should not be running fast breaks, he should not be jawing at refs, etc...All of those criticisms seem fair to me, and the amount of hate he gets should be no surprise considering that he's our " best player "
  6. Pretty hard to say we won because JJ got more touches. Leading the team in FGA while tying for 3rd in points is rarely a good thing. The guy he tied with took only 9 shots compared to his 17. JJ has significant room to improve this series. I just keep waiting for it to happen.

    Getting more touches doesnt necessarily mean more shot attempts. Giving jj the ball forces Boston to collapse on him and as a result more people are open.
  7. I don't know but surely I'm not the only one who heard that as it was from a week or two ago during a national broadcast. Josh's faults lie in the fact that he tries to prove people wrong too often and believes he can do things that he shouldn't do and while those are annoying I don't think they prove that he has a low basketball IQ.

    Putting yourself before the team seems like low basketball iq to me. "believes he can do things he shouldn't do" .....need I say more
  8. He played a great game but....Horford really needs to relax with all the fake tough guy stuff. C'mon... you won the game so there was no need for such sophomoric behavior. All he has done is given the Celtics a reason to play harder. Good win, but dumb move. This is the NBA, and he's a playoff vet, so he should act as if he has been here before.

    He's a playoff vet: so are pierce and KG and that doesn't stop them from acting like d-bags. Horf is an emotional guy and I love it, I'm tired of Joe's laid back demeanor, or Josh's scrunchy faces when things don't go his way, I want a leader that isn't afraid of having a bullseye on his back!
  9. I think that you're right. What MC fails to appreciate is that those other guys don't get open shots if Boston doesn't present their "Wall" and double-teaming against Joe if we had Teague in Joe's position.

    I'm ok with MC stating that Joe played poorly because you don't want anybody on the team dribbling the air out of the basketball and bogging the offense down. But at the same time he has to be more professional in his approach when writing about the Hawks. Sure as a fan he is free to not like Joe, but as a writer for the AJC you have to be more unbiased in your tone when writing in general. MC might not like JJ but he doesn't have to seperate the fan base by specifically going in on Joe. He had an entire blog on Joe Johnson quotes, and I've noticed that throughout the year he has been giving more favoritism towards guys like Josh.
  10. Here was the comment on Josh's bad possessions;

    Compare those quotes with MC's view of JJ's play...1. Sure, because otherwise the Hawks lose this game and the story might be about how Joe managed just four points on six shots in the second half and bogged down the offense by constantly being indecisive until help came and he dribbled away from the basket.2. I supposed he made Joe happy by helping him get 17 shots for his 15 points while Teague made due with six fewer shots for his 16.There is a difference in the tone when he talks about Josh's play and Joe's play
  11. You need to open your eyes, Teague is part of the reason we WON yesterday. The guy is a legit top 10 pg in today's game. Today's point guards aren't passers, they are playmakers and scorers, Teague is getting better in both aspects. The dude is only 23 years old and he is already better than Mayo and always will be. Hold the Mayo doesn't have the athletacism that Teague possesses and is better as a sixth man coming off the bench. Teague will be the better player currently and for the years to come.

  12. It's no secret that MC is more towards the Josh Smith style of basketbal than the JJ system. Ugh, MC's blog is starting to become like Hoopinion's pessimistic Bret Lagree. Both these guys obviously feel that Josh doesn't do wrong on the court and that JJ is the killer of the team....pathetic.
