  1. Can't give a grade without contracts, but if Deng is our top FA signing I woould have to say C. The draft was OK, pretty much BPA. We should hope for better than Deng. If you give the OP senario a B+, what would you give if we got a top FA?
  2. I think most here want Ferry to make a good deal...for the Hawks
  3. That's exactly what I've been talking about. Got to get bigger and taller.
  4. I guess at this point Ferry has chosen HIS #1 guy. A player he knows he can get and will make his offer. If he doesn't make an early offer, I guess he'll wait it out and try to get guys on the cheap. Win/win but we would all like to at least get one of the top, young second tier guys.
  5. Trading Bebe is a no win for Ferry. He didn't get value for him. If he sucks, then he shouldn't have drafted him. If he's NBA worthy, he shouldn't have traded him.
  6. So we trade away last years mid first for a chance to move up a couple spots next draft....not lol. Ferry better be able to pull in someone very big to off-set this
  7. Don't worry, Ferry understands this. That's why he's building through the draft.
  8. Maybe we should try signing someone that other teams actually want. Deng is dung at this point
  9. Sign Deng; move team to Canada. Welcome expansion Hawks. Always nice to see the bright side in everything
  10. Is he a Hawks fan? It is a step backward trade. If you have to trade ASSETS to create space, then you have mis-managed. What did he do with all that cap space from last season? Millsap and Carroll. Sap is pretty good. Won't put anyone over the top unless they're already there though and Carroll who doesn't start for 90% of NBA teams. Oh and our 6th man Korver who would be coming off the bench for 95% of NBA teams.
  11. The good GM's create cap space without giving away valuable assets. Could have traded Lou for nothing and cleared his space. As of right now, this team is a mess. This after last season's team that featured three NBA starters, two of which were severely under-sized at size positons. I wish he would have just tanked last season.
  12. Why did Ferry pick Bebe again? Oh yeah, to use as a throw in in a bad Lou Will for Salmons trade
  13. Trading last years first and a productive expiring for nothing has already happened
  14. There's only one if in this; if we trade one of our starting PF's for a C in a fair trade, we will have NBA heighth. Some ifs put Paris in a bottle, some simply balance a roster
  15. I guess what you mean is that the 3 or four inches and extra lbs of Sap playing C at 7'0" would be much more valuable than our true Sap. So a true C with maybe slightly less skills than Sap would be equal. So the question is: are we a better team with Horf C / Sap PF or Horf PF and a C had in a fair value trade for Sap
  16. Yeah....it's hypothetical. Say you make a fair trade: Sap for a C with equal value.
  17. Say you could stretch out Sap to a 7'0" C and move Horf to PF. Would the Hawks better off as a team? I guess you can see where I'm going with this; put a 7'0" C with comparable talent level as Sap next to Horf and we are a better team than with Horf at C and Sap at PF. With our present Horf/Sap front-court we are giving up between 4-7 inches avg a night and about 50 lbs. at those two BIG men positions.
  18. Draftnet gave us a C or C-. They didn't like that we drafted a PF when we have about 6 of em
  19. All this is screaming trade. Horf Sap is Horf Smith part II. I think Ferry knows we need to be bigger with the starting line up, that's why we've been hearing rumors of Horf moving. I'd rather kepp Horf and send out Milsap. Or keep both and trade some of our youth for a definate upgrade in the starting line up. or invest in the youth...
  20. After more research on our 3 picks. I gave a nine. Nice looking group. If Tavares develops a shot/post game and remains as athletic as he is...oh my gawd...
  21. Thanks for the link. Win shares makes him look real good. The win share stat can be influenced by factors other than just the player though, right?
  22. If we can't get the top FA's, then Ferry should continue to sign lesser FA's to Hawks friendly deals. I don't think he should give Chandler the offer it would take to guarantee getting him. He would have to become a very good SF to make it a good deal for us. I say throw a out a 4 year $33M offer. If Houston matches, move on. If not, we get a nice player, and maybe more, on a team friendly deal.
