I would prefer Derozan since he would be a free agent and hopefully sign for a cheaper deal, or we SnT him for assets, or we just let him walk and use the money in free agency. Levine seems like he will be a headache. He wouldn't be a willing #2 option, in my opinion.

That is more media magic. The Hawks only get talked about when mentioning what other teams have offered for our players. The teams they like get their wants posted as the asking price. We don't actually know what LF is asking for for DJM.

This is what I see when people mention trading Trae and trying to draft the next star. We already went to the ECF with Trae as our star, let's stop acting like he can't get us there again.

So let's get in front of it and trade that special player away. That will be sure to convince other star players that Atlanta is the right place for them. Not attacking you personally, @JTB. But this line of thinking is what is going to set us back in eternal draft watch and I hated that. Let's not intentionally go backward.

Being serious, I wouldn't mind Wiggins if we were trading one of our other pieces. But DJM feels a bit too expensive to get Wiggins back. I'm trying not to be one of those fans who say nothing is good enough for our players, but Wiggins just hasn't been good.

It doesn't fit the direction our coach has said either. Length, more weight, and toughness. None of that describes Reeves, so those talks never really got going in my opinion.

We all know what happened. Whatever label you want to give DJM, nobody can deny that Austin Reeves is not on that level. Any return package that has Reeves as the centerpiece is a major loss of talent.

I see your argument about saving money. I never discuss the cap because it isn't my money being spent. Let's discuss the on-court fit of this trade scenario. Bringing Reeves here, he presumably takes over for DJM as the #2 or #3? Now that he is permanently a part of the opposing team's game plan, does he still average that 18 ppg on 48%? I'm legit worried about him being able to step in and not have us be worse on the court, let alone improving our win/lose record. He's a good player, but I couldn't have him being the centerpiece in return for trading DJM.

21, 5, & 5 on 47% shooting is star caliber to me. He has single-handedly won us multiple games since we traded for him. The fit has not worked out like we thought it would, but his level of play didn't take a nosedive. There is a reason all of these teams are bidding for him. He isn't the #1 guy. But a good #2 and unfair #3. Austin Reeves is nowhere close in terms of talent.

I'd rather keep Murray and try to make it work. Nobody would trade us their second star for Hunter and filler—no reason we should do a similar deal.
