  1. This is what I was expecting when I said a hot start to the season!
  2. @Sothron and @Diesel Please let this argument go. The Hawks have won two in a row, everyone is excited and you two are arguing about Nate, who isn't even the coach anymore. Let's focus on the present and future of Hawks basketball.
  3. DJ probably sits for a bit now. Hopefully we will keep playing tough defense.
  4. Dejounte you good to play the whole 2nd half?
  5. Jalen Johnson in the open court is a monster
  6. Jalen Johnson is our third star, and Quin needs to realize that.
  7. Just keep giving it to Jalen. He's the only one who looks to be playing with passion.
  8. I'll reserve judgment, but we ran offensive sets in the preseason. I know it's there, so if we don't see it in the regular season, then it's intentional.
  9. Just sitting down and we're leading at half by 1 despite Rozier looking like he wants another monster game and the Hawks are shooting 8.3% from 3. Are they at least running the offense or is it right back to normal Trae ball?
  10. Enjoy the time in Vegas Shakes. The highlight videos on Youtube will show a lot of the games anyway.
  11. I agree with @NBASupes. I expect our team to be on fire in the regular season. Our offseason moves started at the All-Star break last year. The unnecessary bits were moved, and everyone has had a half NBA season and full injury-free offseason to gel in Quinn's new philosophy. A slow start to the season should be considered a failure.
  12. I think it's more than "We like our young guys." Management spoke loud and clear last season; they feel they have the top-end piece to win a championship in Trae Young. The other pieces (GM, Coach, and other players) need to jump on board and fill their roles. Those who could not were let go and traded. The last time we had effective coaching, and all players filled their assigned roles without complaint, we went to the ECF.
  13. There is no way we trade for the reigning MVP of the league and keep our best player. I don't see a trade for Embiid actually making us better. The amount that we have to give up would keep us right in the Play-In lane that we are in now. We have our #1 for the forseeable future, let's focus back on trades for our new #2 or #3.
  14. Yeah I don't think Mills comes in and cracks the 9 man rotation. I'm not sure how much he actually has left in the tank. May just be a locker room vet voice if we do end up keeping him.
  15. https://hoopshype.com/lists/nba-most-underpaid-players-history-lebron-giannis-luka/ Don't think this is quite the research article you were talking about. But Trae does make the list here as #8 underpaid all time. Seasons overpaid vs. underpaid: 0-4 Real Value: $102,941,899 Career earnings: $26,534,551 Difference: $76,407,348 (287.95 percent) Similar to Doncic, Trae Young has been an All-Star, borderline All-NBA-level guy from his second season on, which, unfortunately for him was during his time on a rookie-scale contract. Young was most underpaid in 2020-21 when he put up 25.3 points and 9.4 assists while making $6.6 million, $24.4 million less than the $31.0 million Real Value believes he was worth that season. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Hawks were able to reach the Eastern Conference Finals that year, with Young on such a value contract. Also KAT makes the list at #25. Siakam doesn't make the cut. Seasons overpaid vs. underpaid: 3-4 Real Value: $156,743,801 Career earnings: $114,123,435 Difference: $42,620,366 (37.35 percent) One of the best floor-spacing, high-level scoring big men of his era, Karl-Anthony Towns was excellent right away as an NBA player, greatly outplaying his contract right off the bat. In 2016-17, Towns’ second season in the league, the Kentucky Wildcat averaged 25.1 points and 12.3 rebounds while shooting 54.2 percent from the floor. He made $6.0 million that season while his Real Value was $24.1 million, closer to a max contract at the time and a difference of $18.1 million.
  16. KAT to the Hawks is better than Siakam to the Hawks. Don't come to me about money, it isn't coming out of either of our accounts, and that's for Landry to figure out. KAT is the needle mover, Siakam is a treadmill player
  17. We've lost our minds. This tradewatch madness has infected us all. I almost gave grumpycat my avatar for the whole year.
  18. Guys, come on, get with the program. The sports leagues do not keep up with every other aspect of our economy. The players and owners get more money when the leagues have larger profits. The percentages all generally stay the same. This isn't going to cripple Boston. Let's not overreact.
