  1. Suppose I should be relieved that he's not out already. But I'm not.
  2. I may have missed something, so I'm asking you... is there any report from any reporter of any regard who has made this "reportedly frustrated" claim? Or is this pure and simple click bait?
  3. Important point. Our GM is a proven draft talent evaluator, in the opinion of most on this board. Gets an A-minus at worst. Pretty confident of that statement. Outside of that? There's a whole lot more room of worthy debate regarding his trades and free agent signings. Grades out probably more in the B-minus or C-plus range. Conclusion. The more our GM is accumulating talent through the draft, the better; the more he's accumulating talent through other means, it's much more of a toss-up. I don't like toss-ups. Especially in big trades. Especially in the season following a season when we put it all together and came within a misplaced referee's foot of possibly if not likely being in the Finals.
  4. Me? You talkin to meeeee? I don't do Medusa Simmons straight up for a 2nd round draft pick... from Philly. Morey to Schlenk... "Sure there are snakes, sure those eyes could be the death of you... but damn... just look at that face and that body!" Schlenk to Morey...
  5. Routinely, the question is a matter of "improves our team" now... or next year. No one ever makes a deal, self-evidently, without one of those two as the premise. Some of us believe you make deals posited on the likelihood of it improving this season's success. Others think this group is already a lost cause, and so, it makes sense to be more open to deals regardless of their possible effect on chemistry and this season's results. Sooooooooooooooo... to the point... your record kinda points you to one of those premises... that's why you bother to look at record.
  6. Not what most are thinking about when the term "big move" is discussed. But this is a critical, dire need.
  7. It was the best of times... https://prosportsoutlook.com/bogdan-bogdanovic-has-been-atlantas-x-factor-all-season-and-in-game-1/ It was the worst... well, not worst, but let's just say frustrating... of times. https://soaringdownsouth.com/2021/06/20/atlanta-hawks-bogdanovic-knee-reddish-chance/
  8. Ahhhh... well, there's this... And the HS search doohickeythingee continues to be contrary on this side of the internet, but if it's ever made to be a kinder gentler engine, I might dig up where I proposed preseason that the GM might be wise to have some conversation with Delon's agent about what an extension might cost. To the howls and scowls of Hawksquawkers every where, as I recall... hehe.
  9. BogBog has a lot of pride. The good kind of pride where he really believes he's the best guy on the court, but he's not the only best guy on the court... and where he's genuinely bothered when he's not out there performing at his best, because he does feel he owes it to his team and its fans that they expect that out of him. I distinctly remember watching the interviews with him last postseason when he said as much, recalling the torture it was for him to be a new guy with a big salary, but wasting away on the bench for so much of the start of the season. Think you're smart to hold on to a guy like that for as long as you possibly can because you know he's capable of high-end performance, a reputation that he's built even before arriving in ATL, or even before arriving in the US.
  10. Reminds me of this after Stanley finds out that Ryan's been flirting with his daughter...
  11. Only player who is going to get any significant PT (assuming we're healthy, of course... knocks... nay... BEATS ON... nay PUMMELS... wood) is Kenrich Williams. That's the hole in the roster right now that begs for being filled. Acquiring the Yellowjacket twins mostly gives you the satisfaction of knowing if some of our most injury-prone guys of the last two seasons were to go down (PUMMELS harder), you're not necessarily screwed.
  12. The dream scenario, January 25, 2022 Trade w/ OKC Buyout SAS cuts Thad Young; sign to vet minimum ============================================================ Results Young | Wright | L Williams | (Cooper) Bogdanovich | Huerter | (Mays) Hunter | K Williams | Johnson Collins | Gallinari | Young Capela | Okongwu | Favors
  13. OH. Yeah, I didn't read any of the lead-up to that... perhaps self-evidently, I've long ago dismissed that premise, and was just looking at the situation as it stands today.
  14. Hmmm... I come to the same conclusion, but I'm not following how you get there. Correct my thinking. I understood that this is what guides what we can take back: Given that Knox' salary is $5,845,978, we do end up being able to take back a maximum salary of a little over $10.3m.
  15. There's still plenty of season left. There will be opportunities surface, just like they did for TLC here. He just has to be ready when his number is called.
  16. Think I can call it a day here... to perplex the master perplexer (if it's not a word, it should be) is more than enough achievement... I should rest now. (hehe)
  17. Imo... Lou should only be getting minutes when someone in the backcourt is getting a night off... same can be said for Gorgeous when someone in the frontcourt is getting the night off. This is why a Kenrich Williams deal is so very needed if it can get done. Needs to be Wright-Kev-Kenny Hustle-Gallo-Big2O.
  18. I think I see where this is going, and I can't say I approve...
  19. It's a staple of our criminal justice system... yes, should be here as well.
