    1. you assume a draft and stash player

    2. Cap room is not only for free agents like was previously mentioned - we can also  take on a player we have interest in (see Kyle Korver from the JJ trade)

    3. Like I said wether it's Baze or another free agent we need space.

    4. I've already broken down our cap numbers too many times and I don't feel like doing it here  again

I see where you're coming from.

Yes I assumed draft and stash because we are apparently trying to free up cap space.. that would fit the bill.

Basically if Dennis and AL aren't on the hawks BEASTING for years to come then this trade will be foolish. The Hawks are going all in with those two.

  2. The hawks have never been good at drafting, who have we had that was better than him? At least he got us Dennis with a mid round pick. I don't even need to begin to list all of the draft failures in the last decade plus.

Then you add in the fact that he pulled off one of the greatest trades in NBA history by getting rid of Joe.

Got rid of Marvin. Signed Sap who was probably the best free agent the hawks have EVER signed. Signed JYD.

If the biggest criticisms we have for him is he signed them to contracts that ended at the same time... then I'd say we had a damn good GM.

In with  a chance to get a free agent  or stay the same.

Gotcha. Did we not have a chance before trading our starting PG for a draft and stash player and cap room? Seemed like we had plenty unless they're trying to resign Baze for 15/year like I'm afraid is about to happen.

  4. Someone has to say it.

Have we made one single good transaction since we fired Ferry?

He made all of the moves to make us a 60 win team and I can't think of one good move we've made since he left.

    That is all.

And if we don't have enough capsapce for players you want to upgrade the team - still complain.

Like I just said...when was the last time any big time free agents came to Atlanta anyway? We always sign the 10th man off some other team and hope they develop into a role player for us. Woop-dee-doo.

What players do you envision wanting to come here that our cap space would not allow? I'm all ears.

As a lot of people are saying, the trade isn't just for the 12th pick. We also create flexibility to add players via trade or free agency. If we ended up trading Teague for the 12th pick and don't use the cap space we gained on anything useful then it's a bad trade. This is just one of these deals we are going to have to wait and see what happens during the off-season before we can judge if it is good or bad.

Who cares about cap space when over half the league has millions and millions to spend this offseason. Out of all of the seasons to try to clear cap space... this is the one season where it really doesn't mean SH!T!!

And like Watchman said, it's not like big time free agents ever come to Atlanta. We'll end up maxing Barnes or some other stupid crap.

  7. As someone else mentioned in this thread already, how do we give away an All-Star caliber PG for the TWELFTH PICK!!!!

Last season we had the FIFTEENTH PICK.... and got a scrub backup SG. According to this trade, if only we had the 12th pick last year we could have gotten ourselves a starting-caliber player. I just don't get it.

This trade is a joke, especially if all they do is resign Horford and Baze.

They HAVE TO add some new talent to this team or else this trade will go down as a complete fleecing.

Dennis screwed up that last play for sure but we've seen Teague twice not even get a shot off on a final play.   We've seen Al and Sap miss shots at the end.   We sucked this year in close games.

Exactly!!! I'll take Dennis driving the lane all day over Jeff dribbling in place for 10+ seconds and not get off a shot. Nothing more infuriating then that.

I want the players to feel even more shitty. These players don't deserve even if a slight bit of support and tonight was proof of it.

They don't deserve to be cheered at all.

Hard to disagree with this after the "effort" they showed tonight but to hope it's filled with cleveland fans is just stupid. Sure fire way to have even LESS of a chance of signing decent free agents.

After 20 minutes of Korver being blanketed, you know exactly what you are getting from him for the next 15 minutes.  If you choose that over the bench, you own that choice.  Korver is not a creator or a volatile player.  None of our other 2015 ASs were creating space for him.  Very predictable result regardless of what Korver does.  He is an elite shooter but a limited system player.

Is JR Smith a better shooter then Kyle now? It doesn't matter if he's open or not he's launching either way and hitting at a good clip.

We can get lucky and back into a big moment too but it doesn't happen too often.  Still, we'll always have:

I'll give you that one! Then a week or two later we get Eugene Robinson... It never lasts long.

That is Bull.  All the J-Craw shots?  Smoove tip in.  Joe Johnson buzzer shots.  Kyle last year.     Braves have a bunch of walk off homers in the past.  Sid Bream?  Last year Alford returned a pic in over time for the win.

Lol and where has that gotten us? None of those "clutch" moments meant anything. One championship in 50+ years of sports in this city. That's like 200 seasons worth of sports and one championship. I'll give you Sid Bream, but we still didn't even win the World Series that year.

ATL isn't clutch. We had the chance to end a potential NBA record home winning streak but blew that opportunity.

My main point is Atlanta never gets those lucky breaks. That shot by Green was beyond lucky and I've never seen Atlanta pull off some BS like that.

I will say at least all of our clutch moments seem to be based on actual skill lol.

  13. Why is it that no matter the sport Atlanta can never hit a ridiculous clutch  shot like that at the end of games. Not even a normal clutch shot.

I knew that BS was going in right when he launched it.

  14. Yall. I understand what everyone is saying. Teague isn't playing at the same level as last season. Dennis was amazing tonight I was there to witness it!! I can't wait to see how he keeps progressing.

But chilllllll out with all this Teague bashing like he's a bench player now. Do none of you remember the Pacers series a few seasons ago? You think he's just lost it since then?

Any true hawks fan knows he has another level he can play at. The question is why hasn't he been playing at that level consistently.

Honestly, I feel like this team doesn't deserve to even be in the playoffs right now. I mean what are we really cruising for? Another Cleveland beat down? Might as well just play with effort no matter what.

Why would you play with effort no matter what when you can take it easy because either way you'll be getting paid millions. The team went hard all season last year and we all saw how that ended.
