    Eurobasket 2015

http://live.fibaeurope.com/www/Game.aspx?acc=1&gameID=69735&lng=en I thought Iceland would be a worse team, they fight hard.

    Eurobasket 2015

Italy was one of the best team the last Eurobasket. They may be the funniest team in the Eurobasket. I think they'll have no problems to pass and could even surprise some people and finish 1st or 2nd. Turkey didn't play well the last Eurobasket and they aren't as good as they were a few years ago. Asik and Kanter are not playing either. It will be a tough group for sure.

    Eurobasket 2015

I think Spain, Serbia, Italy and Germany will pass to the Final Phase. Do not underestimate your team.
  5. It will start in just one hour with Dennis playing against Iceland. No one will follow it? The best 4 teams of each group will pass. Sadly, Pero Antić is not playing. But... guess who's playing for Georgia... It will be a good Eurobasket since every country wants to be in the 2016 Olympics so almost every star like Dirk, Parker, Pau Gasol, Gallinari, Valanciunas, Antetokounmpo etc, is playing There will also be a few absences (Marc Gasol the biggest) but not a lot. The best two teams of the tournament will also qualify for the Olympics and from 3rd to 7th will have the right to play the qualification. Here you have the official page of the tournament: http://www.eurobasket2015.org/en/default.asp
  6. @Alex would die instantly
  7. Let's take a look: The only international pieces that he added were Dennis, Nogueira, Tavares, Petro, Ayón and Thabo Sefolosha. I won't consider Printezis or Schortsianitis because they just were draft rights that we used to do some trades. 6 players in 3 summers. Budcox has traded for Splitter and drafted two european guys. 3 players in 1 summer.
  8. We drafted two european guys on June so it may answer your question... the nationality doesn't matter for this staff
  9. Well... their soccer national team doesn't ever win anything and british players on top english soccer teams are the minority so... maybe they just aren't good at sports Luol Deng, Joel Freeland and Ben Gordon are all british anyway.
  10. Scola was dominant in Spain. They are not in the same level. I like Printezis anyway. That Tau Ceramica team was great... they went to the Final Four a few consicutive years. They also had Splitter, who became the leader after Scola left to the NBA.
  11. Maybe they train with the best player of chess in the world, Magnus Carlsen... he follows the Atlanta Hawks on Twitter so it has to mean something https://twitter.com/magnuscarlsen
  12. Well... he wasn't a 1st team All ACB In fact he wasn't even in the top5 of centers in terms of votes. Anyway it doesn't change that he has good potential and has grown up a lot as a player in a few years.
  13. That would mean more hate from Alex. I would support the signing only for it. I thought Glen Robinson III would be better in the NBA than THJr. It seems I was wrong...
  14. It's not that easy. Structures are pretty much the same but not the vocabulary. If someone who knows portuguese slows down when talking I may understand him, but it has some difficulties. Sometimes it's very difficult to explain the meaning of a word if you can't translate it. I even have problems trying to understand Galician which is much similar to Spanish (it's like a language between Portuguese and Spanish). Anyway Tavares knows Spanish. I've heard him talk in Spanish and it's not perfect, but he can maintain a conversation. In fact, his girlfriend is from Gran Canaria. But it's always much better to have someone who talks in your tongue language.
  15. It's great we also have Splitter now because he will be able to help Tavares with the language.
  16. Euros. And... yes, euros and dollars are right now pretty equal thanks to Mr. Draghi... Childress was the best paid in Europe. He earned something like € 4M . In Spain when we talk about basketball players we talk before taxes. I's difficult to really know when you talk about a player from other country if it is before taxes or after taxes. The problem was that Olympiakos was the team that paid the highest salaries but due to some problems their payroll is much cheaper now. Same for Khimki that used to play higher salaries. I remember that Jorge Garbajosa earned in Khimki like 3M euros but they are now spending less. I was curious so I searched why Olympiakos is paying now less. And it seems that, as you said, Childress was earning €4M after taxes. It seems that back in 2010, the income tax went up from 20% to 45% in Greece so they couldn't afford that amount of money anymore. That list is from a year ago: That list is not actualized and may have some errors. Some players like Tomic or Sergio Rodriguez are earning much more right now. But can give you an idea. Some salaries there are before taxes and some others after taxes. Probably those CSKA salaries are after taxes, same for Olympiakos, and I'm sure that Barcelona and Real Madrid salaries are before taxes.
  17. Gran Canaria payroll may be less than 3M so... no, he's not getting a big contract there. Only a few players in Europe make 3M. The highest paid player in Real Madrid is Rudy Fernandez with 2.7M and in Barcelona Ante Tomic with 3M. Some teams from other countries like Fenerbache or CSKA may pay 3M for some players but only for 1 or 2. He would probably earn 1.5M or so. If you read my previous post, the Atlanta Hawks want Tavares to play for an Euroleague team. Rumors say that Fenerbache may want him. That would be great for him. His coach is Zeljko Obradovic, one of the best. He could improve a lot there and would also fight for the Euroleague.
  18. Yes, because Dennis has never been a long term project... Nogueira started to have a lot of injuries once the Hawks forced him to add a lot of weight.
  19. Some people here are experts at talking about players who haven't watched in a game in their lives. And Tavares hasn't said that he wants/will play for an Euroleague team. The only thing he has said is that he has a good life there in Las Palmas so he would be ok with staying there but going to a better team would also be ok for him. That's like saying anything. What Canarias media is saying is that the ATLANTA Hawks WANT Tavares to play for an Euroleague team.
