Moose won't be a starter next year. He needs to bulken up or else he'll get pushed around the paint for 30 minutes.

I never said he will START. What im saying is with Pero gone, and the possibility of Sap leaving, Moose just became that much more important for the Hawks.

How does that show confidence in Moose?   I think this pushes him to the end of the bench but that's good.

For two reasons. FIRST, Sap might not resign. That means Tiago starts, and Moose is the first big off the bench. Second, even if Sap signs, they can play a BIG lineup with either Tiago or Moose......

Good move for the Hawks. Ive said over and over that they need to break up that Horford/Sap front court. This move also shows confidence in Moose. Good move all the way around. Now they have a BIG........Now they can defend the rim and rebound.

Nope........Hawks going nowhere until they address that small front line that cant rebound or defend the paint. The Horford/Sap tandem has to be broken up, but the Hawks are not gonna do that.

Hawks gonna go into next season with the SAME squad as last year, with Hardaway as the big off season acquisition. They want nobody else.

Mike Bell just said on 92.9 that Beau Bock told him today that the Hawks are shopping Teague. I don't know how Beau Bock would know about the Hawks, but he does probably still have some connections so who knows. It would definitely be a shocker and I seriously doubt it's true, but just mentioning it.

 

Having said all of that I will repeat my earlier post and say I think there is zero chance Coach Bud wants Cousins.

Wouldnt shock me because the Hawks coaching staff is STILL questioning Teague's desire to be elite game in and game out. I will say this also, if they shopping, Teague, then boogie is DEFINITELY in the mix.

Hawks are gonna do the SAME thing the Falcons do every year. Get the fanbase all excited about possible free agents, then do nothing but resign their own. Im hearing now that they even wanna reverse what Antić did and resign him........

From day one, BudenFerry said they worked in tandem on player acquisitions and roster development.  I believe that Bud had just as much say in the Payne pick as Ferry. 

I agree. They worked in tandem. Now we are gonna see if Bud knows what HE is doing........

Aldridge is not a stellar defender/rim protector. So now we have no perimeter defense and no interior defense. Great.

You can't have no defense at SG AND SF

You know what im REALLY looking at? I want the Hawks to be a free agent destination. I rather they lose WITH Hardaway, Monta and Aldridge, with the prospect of a Durant, etc. wanting to come here, than to lose with Sap, DMC, and those type of players. I want the NBA and ESPN to get behind the Hawks. 

My take is that Sap is the player that the Hawks must bring back. The value of players like him and Draymon Green cannot be overstated, with their ability to hit from outside and get to the basket. 

 

However, I don't think that DMC is worth what it will take to bring him back. Maybe the Hawks go cheaper here and bring in a younger, athletic 3 who can get his own shot. Someone who could thrive in a balanced, equal opportunity offense like Atlanta's.  

 

Use that money saved to bolster the frontcourt.

EEEhhh. Its hard to say. Both were and are valuable to the Hawks. If they had the ability to keep both and add Aldridge to the mix............instant championship.......

Small at SG, Small at SF - NOPE! No defense.

I would be pissed

But i rather be small back there, than small up front like the Hawks have been doing. Golden State got away with it. Now, gonna be honest, the ONLY way i would want them to do this is if they can pull off a salary cap move and get Aldridge also. You are right, dont get me wrong, but its like anything in sports, you have to committ one way or the other.

Could this be a move to have Hardaway at small forward to replace DMC and Monta at shooting guard as the insurance for Korver?? If this is true, Coach Bud is a slick one....................lol

Its not out of the question. Korver is REALLY a small forward playing the two guard. Andre Iggy is the same height as Hardaway. Cory Maggette, etc. They all play small forward.

He said this at our press conference:

He will be ok. It takes at least two years for MOST people to get the triangle offense. Second, the Hawks run VARIATIONS of it. Its not their base set. The Hawks use a lot of Hammers, pin down screens, pick and rolls, etc.

I wish.  But his contract is higher than anyone on the Hawks.

They cant go there then. Hawks need too many pieces in the front court.

Whats the deal with David Lee? He is another big that i liked from this past season. Would a trade work for him? I liked his numbers off the bench.

Now that Pero is gonna take his Antić's back over to Europe, the Hawks SHOULD be pressured into really addressing their bigs now........
