  1. I personally don't want someone at the 4 who'd be a longterm starter. Get me a vet stop gap who can contribute like Jae Crowder and groom JJ for that spot. Watching the Denver finals makes it obvious how the secondary pieces on a team should compliment the superstar's playstyle. MPJ and Jamal Murray are microwave scorers that benefit from Jokic's methodical playstyle.

JJ's ability to push the pace, attack the rim, collapse on kickouts, and create for others from the pf position is a great release valve for Trae's explosive style. The biggest problem we've had with our frontcourt is that JC, Dre and CC can't pass/playmake for shit.

He does more with the ball in this vid then JC did with his whole career.

I wouldn't be surprised if that trade exception isn't used right off the bat either. You could potentially use it on top of one of CC or Dre to bring in a big difference maker at some point this year.

  2. This could be the David Lee trade for gsw that set up room for Draymond Green to shine. It depends on if JJ is ready.

I will say that this is a lesson to not shop players publicly for consecutive years if you aren't committed to getting rid of them. The logic was always "JC is too good for what we're getting offered, so we'll wait and see". That approach only led to our cap situation getting worse and teams getting stingier. Same thing just happened with Beal.

You got more for dumping Cam Reddish.

Skip Bayless was born and raised in Oklahoma.  If ANYBODY wants Trae to be good its Skip Bayless.  Skip Bayless is being genuine.  He is telling the truth about this.  He doesn't lke Westbrick or Harden either.  He is spot on in what a efficient point guard is supposed to be about.

I don't know the guy so I can't say how he truly feels, but based on how he covers sports I can assume that he doesn't hate Trae, but is disinterested to the point that he doesn't do research so he just spouts basic talking points.

He runs a debate show that is unapologetic sensationalism and has contributed to the devolution of sports conversation. I don't really care about his opinion honestly.

He proved he either doesn't know much or doesn't actually study the sport he covers when Marc Cuban embarrassed him on live television.

Skip doesn't like Trae but Skip isn't wrong in his accessment of Trae's game.

Mostly surface level analysis if we're being honest. Too many long bombs, bad defense, and turnovers.

What Trae can really do to improve the offense is stop reseting the flow other guys create and give the ball up quicker when he can't get something. He gets in the way of Deandre, Aaron and Jalen by always coming back for the ball instead of playing off of them.

I think it's growing pains and he'll be better as the season progresses.

Skip Bayless REALLY liked the move.  He spoke at length about how he liked Murray.  My personal take is Trae and Murray compliment each other very well.  Skip does make valid points about Dejuante's defense and size helping Trae.

"they just went out and got a bigger, better Trae Young..."

Skip doesn't like Trae so don't be surprised to hear him make narratives that Dejounte is the true #1 on this team. Especially in the playoffs.

I'm on your side...I'm not sure why this management team treats its players the way they do. Give Gallo all of that money but buck at giving Collin $5 mil more? Give Bogi all that money but buck at giving Hunter $2 mil more? Just terrible messaging period from this group!

    Cap management.

The team at the time was ready for a playoff push while JC and Trae were still on cheap deals. They paid Gallo a non guaranteed contract that coincided with that cause they wanted vet talent. As long as they were under the cap it didn't matter.

Once they got over the cap, bye bye Gallo and Kevin Huerter. Capela is probably gone once Deandre gets paid, unless the play on the court leads Ressler into paying the luxury tax.

"Brothers" or not, the rules don't change:

    1. Never underestimate your opponent.

    2. In a physical altercation, ALWAYS get into a defensive fighting stance.

On the streets, there are no refs or teammates to break up the fight. You can't push somebody and then drop your hands with the, "what are you going to do about it?", stance afterwards. That's all I'm saying. I am NOT defending Green in any way. I'm not saying Green was right for what he did. I'm saying that I'm not pushing anyone I'm not prepared to square off with. I'm expecting violence at that point.

I get what you're saying, but it's still a 33 year old man knocking out a 23 year old kid.

There's a line you don't cross with friends and family. Verbally and physically. I'm never going to expect my brother to try and knock me out if I don't deserve it.

These aren't street dudes in a rough environment, they're multi millionaires. In a vacuum you're right, but the context surrounding this makes it shocking that it happened. Especially since Green is trying to become a respected media member in the future.

That wasn't even a "let's fight" push, more like a get off of me push.

If Poole did this I'd get it.

Green did indeed get into his personal space, but Poole escalated the situation when he pushed him. It became a "physical altercation" at that point. If Poole was going to take it there, he should've been prepared for what came next. Again, I'm not defending Green. I also understand if Poole didn't want to get "punked" in front of his teammates. All I'm saying is if you are going to escalate the altercation to the next level, you better get your hands up. I personally don't condone violence and would have never let things get to that point.

These guys always refer to each other as "brothers" though. I have 5 brothers and the last time we ever put hands on each other was when we were just out of high school, never as adults.

Poole didn't expect his "brother" to try and knock him out, thats why his guard wasn't up. If it was someone on another team or a stranger, I believe he would.

NBA players in game have shoving matches and don't react like this.
