  1. I don't mind standing pat. I want to see Hunter after fully recovering, its's obvious his bounce and burst aren't back yet and it's holding him back on his drives; I want to see OO with an offseason of improvements, and I want to see if JC has another level of growth he can get to.

JJ and Sharife are icing on the cake for me.

    This guy gets it.

My guy Legler speaking on the Hawks rn.

Said he labeled Trae as a legit star after last year.  Legit star = you can do your thing despite the defense being geared to stop you.  It's hard to dominate a game at that size and he's doing it.  And in what's probably the biggest game of their season.

Says they (Hawks) don't necessarily need to get to the ECF to legitimize last year's run.

We weren't playing well early but are clicking now.  "If people aren't paying attention, keep an eye on them."

Recognized we're 8-0 in Trae's last 8 games.  Were so fun to watch last year so he was disappointed they weren't in the top teams this year.  But "they're here now".

Few guys as entertaining as Trae, shooting/passing - it's unique to him.  Must see team.

I might marry Timmay.  That's my guy.

Legler is the best guy at ESPN hands down. I thought he would be a controversial hot take type because I've been geared to think that way, but I love his analysis and lack of bias or need to be right. He just calls it like he sees it.

I think we pigeon hole ourselves with talk of a 2nd and 3rd guy.

At any given time, anybody can step up and be the 2nd guy.

It can be Kev.  It can Be Bogi.  It can be Hunter.   It can be JC.  It can Be Gallo.  It can be Clint.  It can be OO. It can be Lou...

and over the past couple of years, we have seen just that.  It's fools gold to fall into the thinking that we will somehow or even need to have a Jordan/Pippen thing.   Let's just develop players naturally with no pressure to be the 2nd guy... and play based on what the matchup gives us.

Yeah, but when money gets involved you want a level of production or play on a consistent basis. JC isn't paid like a second best player so people who consistently get mad at him when does bad probably don't want him on the team anyway.

I agree that currently it's by committee, but I'd prefer someone you can always count on though.

  4. We need consistent high level scoring from the wing, specifically at getting downhill. Dre is the best fit to be the second best player, he just needs to get his bounce back and tighten that handle. Next season I expect another jump.

JC does alot of things well that most players don't do, but he's bad at the things needed to be a second star. I think he can still improve, but I've always thought he was best as a 3rd guy and he was paid as one.

He's was actually more productive on D this year.

By RAD, Cam is a defensive disrupter and playing better D than he did last year. Like I said, Cam sadly is a product of being extremely unlucky. It happens. Last year, he was extremely unproductive offensively yet he ended up with a 0 WAR. He didn't deserve in the RS. To me, he's been better this year than last on both ends. I could care less about metrics. They tell you about the situation their in, not the entire story.

    Search Cam Reddish

All of his offensive metrics have tripled but his noise even on that end is extremely bad. Him and Terrance Ross are the probably the two most unlucky players in the last 10 seasons. It happens.

I'm not a huge analytics guy, but from what I understand, it's hard to use them measure defensive impact?

From the eye test, Cam looked like he was gambling more, and didn't have the intensity he showed on Khris Middleton in the ECF. Has he had a defining defensive game this season?

I think the consensus even before he was traded was that he looked less locked in on defense, but I could be wrong. He's still a plus defender even when he's not locked in.

To say he didn't buy in is opinionated and y'all gotta stop taking opinionated garbage in as facts. Travis said he wanted a trade because he wanted a bigger role in the long term plans. Cam confirmed that as well in his opening presser with the Knicks.

How would you explain his drop-off defensively? I'm willing to be swayed.

  7. The Celtics didn't really push him away from the post like we've seen other teams do. The next step for him is to get his shots aggressively in rhythm when the other team is trying to stop him. He just needs some more lower body strength and to tighten that handle.

I think the combo of JC and OO is too enticing to not let develop. I trust Travis to make the right decision, but I like how we look right now.
