  1. I was wondering since you are the HawkSquawk Graphics expert could you Design a picture of the Hawks potentail starting five at the bottom of my post? I don't know if it was you but someone had the pictures of the JT, Dion, Dermarr, Reef and Theo at the bottom of their posts back during the season, I think that it is only fitting that there be a caption of the new starting five of Terry, DJ, Big Dog, Shareef and Theo.
  2. I was just watching an interview of the Big Dog on Southern Sports tonight. after the interview they had a projected starting lineup for the upcoming season. They had Dickau as the starting pg and Jason Terry at the sg postion. Seems like they are just as cluess as ESPN.
  3. I told you all Glenn Robinson and Alan Henderson were friends. BOth of these guys go way back.

    Dickau

This is in reference to Hotlantadude's statement. You asked how does a PF like Shareff have almost 4turnovers a game.Well it is quit simple for one he still plays like a Small Forward in that he likes to take his man of the dribble and drive to the hole. Another reason might be that he got double all the time last season and no one made themselves available for him to pass the ball out to. Man who do you like? You don't like Dan, You don't talk highly of Reef anymore, you hate Kruger and Babs. Are you sure your a Hawks fan?
  5. I was just reading Thursday's insider and it stated that Boozer averaged 17pts and 13rebounds during their FA/Rookie camp. I know this is just summer league play but you also have to look at his size. He stated during the draft that he had got down around 250 or 255 and that's on a 6'9 frame. He doesn't look like he is that size but I guess he must carry most of his weight in his legs because he doesn't have a large upper body. A 6'9 250+ pound guy can do some damage in the post, especially when he is lean and not fat. What do you guys think on him having a impact next year with the Cavs? Steal of the 2nd round?
  6. Why would the Bucks give up Glenn for Coleman when they already have Mason at PF? They would have had 2 players who have poor work habits and stay in some type of trouble outside the court in Mason & Coleman.
  7. I can't see Shareef wearing a head band either.
  8. I think the trade favors the New Jersey Nets. Richard Jefferson gets to start and Mutombo will provide the defense in the middle.I wouldn't mind watching a 7game series between the Hawks & The Nets. It would be a great series.
  9. I recorded it this past Saturday to see if it was as good as advertised. Yes it is entertaining and all but it seems like one of those things that catches your interest in the beginning but quickly becomes boring. Reggie Theus is one of the commentators for the show. He seems so fake in how he is trys to hype of the plays on the show.
  10. I don't think they have any "Beef" with each other, matter of fact I think they have mutal respect for each other. They might be friends for all we know.
  11. I was just thinking that Robinson already knows one player on our team really well. That player is Alan Henderson. To my knowledge they grew up in the same Hometown of Gary Indiana, although I think they went to different Highschools. They played against each other in college, one at Purdue the other at Indiana. Maybe Hendu can help Big Dog with his transition to the Hawks organization even if it is nothing more than talking to him about the Good old days.

    Reef trade

We don't need another "Big" trade. We don't want to kill what little team chemistry we have. Wallace is a headcase, Lon & Babs wouldn't be able to control him, and Wallace probably wouldn't want to play for this team as his old buddy Rider didn't fit in with us. Those 2 have similar attitudes.
  13. I thought I had read in one of the Insider reports that Mike Evans stated that He and his family were happy living in Denver.
  14. Well Dion has always said he is more comfortable coming off the bench. Dermarr seems to play better when he starts than coming off the bench. Ira is the best defender of the all of them but doesn't have much range on his jump shot. I say Dermarr gets the start on most occasions except when we play a team with a great scorer like Vince Carter, Tracy Mcgrady or Kobe Bryant. On these occasion Ira should be inserted into the starting lineup, because DJ would get eaten alive and don't even think about the Big Dog guarding one of these guys.
  15. BHD I know you can't go in to "concrete" details but what didn't Mahorn like about Kruger if you can comment on it.
  16. I was just thinking will Glenn like playing for a unexperienced coach like Lon Kruger after playing for some one like Karl? I wish we still had Mahorn as an assitant because he definetly gets respect from the veteran players in the NBA today. I know Gar Heard played professionally as well but Robinson probably knows little about him since Heard was playing before Robinson knew anything about basketball. I guess our next order of business besides signing Newble is to bring in another assitant coach.
  17. I would like to see Ira back in the ATL but not at the expense of over paying him. There are guys out there who can be a defensive player for us without the big contract. Hey I was just thinking that since we got the Big Dog we can affored to take a chance on a player like Lee Benson. Benson displayed a great defensive prowess while playing on the Juco level(if I remember correctly he had like 3bpg). I know it was just Juco level competition, but who knows on a team like ours he could come in and contribute for us,even if it is nothing but defense.A guy like him would be glad to get the rookie minimum of 300,000 a year.
  18. Archie posted about the Rahim trade and the current trade of Kukoc for Glenn, but neither of them were our bigggest in my opinion. The biggest trade was trading Mutombo to Philly. Why do I say this?,because now that trade virtually ended up being Mutombo for Theo, Nazr and Glenn Robinson. We wouldn't have gotten the big dog if that trade had never happen unless we would have given up one of our core players. Way to go Babs, it is about time you and management started using your heads.LOL!
  19. I wonder what kind of a deal they will offer Harpring? Will it be more than what they wanted to give Ira Newble? Harpring isn't that much better than Ira and no better than Chris Crawford plus he isn't as athletic as Crawford or Newble.
  20. Why are people trying to judge Dan "The Man" Dickau from the summerleague games? This isn't a good evalution of him as a player. Jason Terry is a scorer not a true pointguard. No he isn't as fast as JT or the scorer JT is but he is already better as a "Pure" point than JT. If a scenario came up that Milwaukee would give up Ray Allen for JT & Hendu we would be stupid not to jump on it.I don't know about Eddie Jones but I would definetly send JT packing for Ray Allen who is only about 27years old.
  21. I would also like to say that this goes to show you racism isn't just in the deep south, but it is prevalent in the north as well.
  22. Okay I am not following how Duckett got to the bridge. If he had just left the fairgrounds how did he get to the bridge? Is the bridge right next to the fairgrounds?
  23. I doubt Kevin Willis will be back in a Hawks uniform simply because I remember someone asking Babs on "Ask the GM" about some of the former Hawks players in particular Mookie Blaylock.Babs stated the orginazation appreciated what Mookie,Steve, Ty Corbin and Grant Long did for the orginazation but they are looking to go in another direction instead of getting aging players. So you could add Kevin Willis into that group of players as well.We are not looking for player who are on the down side of there career.

    JT's street jam

Some of you are saying we shouldn't trade JT because he does so many things in the community and he is a nice and friendly person, however Steve SMith was a man of high character and did things in the community as well but we still ended up trading him. I don't want to "Bust any body's bubble" but the part about JT giving away free tickets was probably already planned out by the Hawks marketing staff, the street Jam and giving away the tickets was away for him to "market" the charity game on sunday. I don't want to sound negative but come on you know JT didn't pay for those tickets out of his pocket. I am a JT fan also but I am simply being realistic about the whole deal.
  25. I was just thinking would it be better to make room for Chris Christoferrson than Haslem. I like Udonis but with us basically having 4power forwards (Nazr and Theo aren't true centers) would it be wiser to sign Chris especially if Ratliff misses some considerable time off the court and Narz has to start at center again. This way we would be prepared for the blow.Anyway we need more size and bulk to this team.If Hendu wasn't on the roster I would say go with Haslem but we our lack of size I think Christoferrson would be the wiser choice.
