  1. Quote: #2/Ely/Drobnjak/Zhi Zhi for #6/future #1 (from Philly) Drobnjak has actually been a solid backup, and he can be a center or power forward. I don't see the Clippers wanting to get rid of him that badly, but if he is in the way of landing Kobe, he is out. I see the Clippers trying to find a solid point before they just go after Kobe. If they are able to sign Kobe then ofcourse they have no need for Q-Rich, so they have alot of options. Wang ZhiZhi is on the Miami Heat, not the Clippers. Must find another way there!! There are a few guys on the Clippers that can be moved, but the majority of there players don't have high contracts.
  2. What makes you think the Jazz are still interested in JT?
  3. I'm interested in the mock, thanks.
  4. Nicely said, if we are set with the #6 pick come draft time, we will have a void filled. Josh Smith or Andris Biedrins I hope are there.
  5. The Clippers really don't have any bad contracts: Predrag and Chris Kaman are about the only longterm contracts, besides Elton Brand/Maggette. So in saying that I don't see them putting much focus on moving any guys, that badly. They may try to move Predrag, Kaman, Wang Zhizhi, so back to the drawing board. Maybe this: Right to Q-Rich #2 Kenyon Dooling For #6 / depends on what type of point is there.
  6. Quote: Some things are more important than money! Stranger things have happened in sports nothing surprises me. What seems ridculous now may be possible in the future! Yes we found that out last season when Karl Malone took a pay cut. I would say the same for Gary Payton, but he was paid much more than Karl. I don't see Shaq going that low, but hey he does live in Orlando!!
  7. Going in the right direction as far as getting a new head coach, resigning Brand/Corey. Alot of people felt as if the ownership would let those two players go. Don't get me wrong the Clippers have a horrible ownership, but they have showed some signs of going in the right direction. Now if they go after Kobe Bryant, and draft a "NEED" they may be headed into the playoffs. The Clippers in the playoffs....say what!
  8. The Clippers on the top of the world right now, as we all know they should be. I have been reading from board to board. ESPN: Clipper fans are talking about trading for Baron Davis, and they aren't interested in trading with the Hawks. One person offered Hawks #6 and #17 for the Clippers #2. It was shot down, and they responsed with: Quote: No The #16 pick doesn't hold much value. The Clips need QUALITY, not quantity." and another: Quote: would not I would not trade a potential superstar for two average players. By reading around I find it funny if the Clippers draft a PF or SF. They have no need for that draft choice, but oh well we know how the Clippers are.
  9. Here is a name for you: JOSH SMITH at #6
  10. Shaq wants 30 million per year, so what will he lower his self to if he plays with the Magic in "2 years"????!!!! In 2 years Shaq maynot even be the type of player her is now, not that he is worthy of 30 million a season. T-Mac Okafur That is a pretty good start!! Now if the Magic can go after a center like Dampier, Camby, or Okur(C/PF).
  11. What makes you think the Pistons want or need Jason Terry? Richard Hamilton .... Jason Terry Chauncey Billups .... Jason Terry Both are easy picks!! If the Pistons didn't have a shooting guard or point, I would offer something like this: Jason Terry for Mehmet Okur The Pistons don't have much money to keep Okur, unless they stop all talks with Rasheed Wallace. There is noway Terry gets traded to the Pistons, because the positions are already filled.
  12. I must give the Clippers sometype of credit(Can't believe I said that). They did try this past season, and that may be in the right direction. I also hate to see them in the lottery each year, but we can't do anything about that, and we need to focus on the Hawks. Maybe we can trade picks with the Clippers, because they have no use for Howard. The Clippers will most likely piss us off, and trade the pick to another team. Sour luck for the Hawks as always, but lets hope Billy Knight can work some magic.
  13. Quote: We still have 5 picks in the first round right? I question you being a Hawks fan...j/k No we don't have 5 first round picks.
  14. Quote: only if it's for the PacMan. bring it back. About the only one I liked!! So a new aged PacMan? Deeper colors?
  15. I think they all would accept him, and try to teach him things. I don't see Henderson being a very good person to look up to, because he wont be around long. Jason Terry is a very good guy, but I doubt he can do alot of things with Dwight. Boris Diaw and Dwight Howard can work on there game together. I just think the best fit for Dwight is Dominique Wilkins, and he is someone Dwight can look up to/respect. Dwight Howard has to be a fan of Dominique living in Atlanta, and I think Dwight would haev opens ears unlike some past Hawks draft selections. Quote: not to be misquoted, a cited that in regards to the losing, not the "vets" on the team. I think JT, SJax, and Diaw, Hendu too, would readily accept him into the fold. Various reasons, but they all would imo.
  16. I was looking around on realgm, and there is some talk about the Hawks getting a new logo. You can check the post from others at realgm, but I felt it should be postd on hawksquawk. Not sure if the orginal poster is a member of Hawksquawk, but I think more people will express what they feel about it on here. I think we need to change the logo and jerseys. Anyone else see it happening anytime soon?
  17. Quote: I just worry about the effect on young guys, namely Howard (should it happen) Exactly, makes me remember the talent the Clippers had, and they couldn't come together as a "team"..... Dwight Howard needs sometype of Vet on this team, so he can grow, and mature even more. I know when I talk about the Hawks right now, I leave Dwight Howard out of the mix until I know we have a chance to select him. We will find out tonight if we will be able to draft him, or if we will have to trade up to draft him. I don't want to see to many young guys around him, trying to do the sametype of things he is. Stephen Jackson can work with him well, and that is another reason to resign Jackson if we have Howard. I don't think Jason Terry can do much for Dwight Howard, and we all know there isn't anyone else on our roster....Oh wait....Alan Henderson? LOL Lets not mention him. If we draft Dwight Howard I hope Dominique Wilkins gets into his life, and that goes for any of our young draft choices.
  18. Quote: The only way I see the Suns trading this pick is if it allows them to unload Eisley's contract I knew you would bring Eisley into the picture, but I hoped you had another idea. If the Suns are able to get rid of Eisley they will be able to do alot more things, even if Kobe doesn't become a Sun. Do you see the Suns keeping the lottery pick, or trading it away?
  19. Alot depends on the money they are wanting, but I can look past Stephen Jackson and Bob Sura. I defently don't want the Hawks to resign Bob Sura, not that he wants to resign here. I much pefer the Hawks focus on bringing up a draft choice or sign Jamal Crawford, if Jason Terry is shipped out. Bob Sura is very injury prone and hasn't proved anything for years to come. Now people want to resign him after his short stay with the Hawks? Wow he showed he can do many things, and playing for a contract. Stepehen Jackson I would resign if he fits into our plans. He showed he can rack up big scoring numbers when he is the center of attention. I don't want to see him get a large contract, and I don't think he is worth one. He wants 6 years? That is out of the question as far as i;m concerned. He is looking ahead if he is traded at some point, and not knowing what type of player he would become on another team. He is a role player but can become more than that as we saw from his short-ternm with the Hawks. I can see Sepehen Jackson being our starting small forward for years to come which doesn't bother me at all, and I'm happy to know Knight most likely wont overpay for him. I would look to sign him for 4 years 5 million per, and nothing more. I am looking past both Bob Sura and Stepehen Jackson. If the Hawks resign them so be it, but I hope they wont consider Stephen Jackson. As I stated above I much perfer us bringing up the draft selections, or adding a much better player in free agency.
  20. I will be watching the lottery, and I can't wait for it to be over with. I'm ready to talk about our lottery pick, and what will come from it. We will be able to get a better understanding when this lottery is over with. Good Luck to us.
  21. I could actually see the Hawks signing Hudson, and making him the starter. I would then trade Jason Terry, because alot of us are sick of him. I agree I was a fan of Jason Terry, but he needs to go. I would be a bigger fan of his, if he was off the Hawks. I still hope the Hawks draft a solid point guard with the 17th pick or in the second round. Chris from Duke isn't even on my list, and I wouldn't even consider him. I like Roko-Leni Ukic and Sasha Vujacic.
  22. LOL Harry is a big part of the team, because no kids would come to the games if it wasn't for him, jk. We would be looked at as a JOKE, not that we aren't already. Quote: Quote: Have they said who's going tonight? I'm assuming it's billy knight again right? Would be funny if it was harry the hawk. that would be hilarious I can just see all the GMs shaking his hand if we won... lol Yes it is Billy Knight according to Hawks.com. That would be enjoyable however to see Atlanta's mascot representing the team at the lottery. It would be all these respected NBA general managers and owners and then all of a sudden you see "Harry the Hawk."
  23. Thank you for the good luck. I also see the Suns getting more of there young players involved in the future. and Jason Terry would hurt that process. Any other way we would be able to aquire your first round lottery pick Sunsfan? Quote: I would. It'll never happen. We have no need for Terry with Vujanic coming over. We also need to find minutes for Barbosa. We'd actually be taking on salary with that trade because Terry makes more than White and his contract runs longer. On top of it all, we'd have to give up our pick? No thanks. JT is stuck with you guys. You should have just let Utah have him. Anyways, I am rooting for you guys to get the #1 pick. If any team is due for some good luck it's the Hawks. Here's to the Hawks getting Howard at #1 and the Suns getting Okafor at #2. Good luck tonight.
  24. I wouldn't give him 700,000, but maybe give him a raise. Geez, Jackson made 1 million, which he was being under paid. Hansen needs to prove something this season, if he is wanting a longer contract. I am pleased to hear we will most likely pick up his option, but he needs to be very prepared next season.
