  1. I won't stand for this meth-Bogi slander, burd! So I'mma sit down right over here.
  2. Trades are also hard because the teams can't say the opposing players' names during trade discussions. They have to give a description to make sure the other GM knows which player they're discussing. True story.
  3. Sadly, there's no way to legislate 'pursuit of winning' into this. The reality is that they're all business owners pursuing profit. The difference is some recognize winning big leads to exponentially higher revenues. Lazy owners see marginal winning is still profitable. That's why the a$g always built with the mindset if wanting a 1st round playoff series, who cares if they advance
  4. The Lakers got 2 Allstars. So these coaches and players who pUT wiNNiNg FiRsT ... voted for 2 Lakers to make the allstar team. Two. Dos
  5. Seriously. If you don't want 'im, trade him before all his value runs out. Sheesh. Like they gonna wait til his option doesn't get picked up and he's due to be paid ... theeeennnn put him on the block while every-dang-body knows good and heyul well we ain't gonna bring him back.
  6. In public: "Of course, burd. We'll do whatever it takes to bring a winner to hot-Lanta." - Messy Ressly In private: "Whaddo you mean they don't call it hot-Lanta anymore? Ah anyways, tear up that deal for Nick Clackstone. I might pay $0.02 in lux tax if we do that deal. Heh, you asked for my 2 cents. Hyuk, hyuk. High five? Landry? No? Nicky boy, I can always count on you ... of course your allowance is approved." - Messy Ressly
  7. I ended up liking this more than I thought I would. However, if Nic(k) is coming Capela gotta be going.
  8. Whaaaaat? We got hotSupes on board too!? Proceed, Kang.
  9. This. That part. Don't sell me or tell me the game is 'for the fans' if you vsn go from #2 in fan voting to not being in the game at all. The tiny hater in me is so ready for this. I'm nominating them for the Tom Petty award 'cause they gon' be freee.. ... free fallin'...
  10. Happy to ... satisfy you? Wait, that came out wrong. Or so so rite, kg.
  11. Sucks but his body hasn't ever been conducive to having a long career. Sad but IIWII.
  12. Trae is a non-star officially. F them coaches!
  13. Well that was the ultimate smokescreen.
  14. I like White but if he got hit with double teams at halfcourt he might stain the parkay on his way to the bench (then the bathroom). Double teams are just 'Tuesday' for Trae.
  15. I hate the rationale being along the lines of, "well smart fans recognize how much he contributes to winning" or whatever. Well, while true, that's different than him being an allstar. The asg is an exhibition. A showcase for the fans. Ain't nobody tuning in to watch dudes set back screens and hustle for loose balls. In fact, if he does any of that, everybody else gon look at him like, "who's the try-hard out here tryna get folks hurt". Don't get me wrong, the asg needs to be more competitive. But you don't get that by forcing role players onto the team. And, to circle back, how much would he contribute to winning if the defense focused on stopping him instead of Tatum, Brown, Porzingis, and probably a couple other dudes before they eventually got to him? That's why you don't compare the battleship to the folding chairs sliding around the mess hall. Them deck chairs out there excellin' at holdin' up arses. But they wouldn't be jack sh*t without the battleship. There's a difference, AH! A difference! ... whoa, I blacked out for a second there. What we talkin about?
  16. Heh, ironic. This is the only reason why I'm responding to you. Ohhhhhhhhhh.... Cmon, that was a sick burn and you know it.
  17. Feels like coaches and media have lost sight of what the allstar game is. Standings are kinda down the list when it comes to 'reasons'. Let the injury replacements be where guys are rewarded for contributing to winning teams. No way Derrick White should get picked before Trae although I recognize he's a good contributor.
  18. Eh, first of all, I'm not re-reading the article where I glanced over that bit. That would be way too much work. But it made it seem like that's not the case. Sounds like he had to qualify for it. He has his basic pension, the 10yr pension is different - this is what he's seeking, iiuc. You can't just buy in. To be clear though, im not arguing for or against it necessarily. I just dont see a reason to put energy into hatin' on his cause.
  19. Reminds me of all the swirling rumors about how LAL was gonna trade THT and get back all these stars. Media folk want so badly to help LA. And the ones not bumpin' for LA are the ones tryna help Lebron. It's the perfect confluence of yearn-alism. What LAL did last year to turn things around was an anomaly they seem to assume will be available to them every year.
  20. I think it's more about a different level of healthcare that's available, not the money.
  21. Yeah, this should be a story about how difficult it is for people to manage a child with special needs. Get them consistent care. Make sure they're as 'ok' as possible. Getting an NBA pension isn't the "only" way but I'm sure it would certainly make it easier for him. As a human, I want that for him. Not because he's owed it. Just because, as a human being with a heart, I want others to have things.
  22. Undecided if I wanna call the Bey-4-Grimes swap yet. The Villanova thang makes it tempting. Also mulling over a Capela-to-HOU deal.
  23. Per my sources, Trae and picks for Jevon Carter.
