  1. Quote: DOUBLE TEAM them-- force someone else to make a shot... in late game situations like that... They did....Walker had Four straight shots at winning the game for Miami and clanked on everything....EVEN BLEW TWO FTs! Man....I'm happy for the win but Riley needs to bench Antoine(or do something if he's going to continue to labor like this) I swear when he missed those opportunities, I honestly thought you guys would come back and win in OT and you almost did but almost only counts in Horseshoes.....
  2. Quote: Welcome back #8. I suspect that since your boy scored only 3 points last night, he'll be looking to reprove himself. It will be interesting to see how he plays against the young guns that he mentored a few years ago. yeah...hopefully he'll have a better showing. But I'm still forever-giddy that he finally got a ring to shut up all the doubters out there. However that was then....this is now. I think Riley may go to a Lineup like this today : PG JWill SG DWade SF Posey PF Toine C Haslem He'll be forced to go the "Small Ball" route until Shaq comes back....
  3. As you already know, Miami got demolished by NY. How humiliating...To make matters worse, Shaq is going to be out for 4-6 weeks... This should be a big opportunity for BOTH TEAMS to make a statement. For the Hawks, to say that We're For REAL(finally..lol)! For the Heat, to say that we have a Pulse and a Heart...and we give a damn. sheeesh...
  4. Quote: I think Nate's dunks were harder and Iggy had only one spectacular dunk while Nate had about 2-3. And both accomplished those dunks after a ZILLION TRIES..
  5. Quote: Quote: The FT is a forgotten stat anymore, but it is an imperative part of the game. We got better at it this year by leaps and bounds. Getting rid of Walker was the big reason for the improvement. Don't make me come back here now...LOL.
  6. If Josh even made a SOLID Showing and did the SAME EXACT DUNKS he did LAST YEAR, he would've won this thing GOING AWAY.....
  7. Would be LOOOONG OVERDUE for Nique. Hope he gets in. He deserves it.
  8. I thought Batista was in the WWE?
  9. Quote: Decent players on bad teams can put up big numbers - plus, they can concentrate on offense instead of defense because they are losing. Well it's not like Antoine had any CHOICE back in those days PRE-Pierce, you know....He was, unfairly, given the keys to the franchise and thus never developed into the player everyone EXPECTED him to with his skillset 'cause of this(as well as lousy coaching and GM'ing). He does make a pretty solid #2 guy, though. THAT you can't dispute. Quote: I am not saying he is a bad player. But, he didn't do near as much on a team with talent in Indiana. Are we talking about Walker here or Harrington? 'Cause Harrington certainly didn't do JACK (or much of it) during his days in Indy. Now granted he had some pretty good players playing ahead of him when he arrived but even when he finally got PT, he only got it sparingly(thus, the reason why he chose to come here than stay there). Quote: Plus, what will he COST? Once you go over 8 mil a year, he better be a solid player because of the damage it does to the sal cap. Is a tweener forward worth it? Hasn't that been the problem with Walker his whole career (and hasn't it limited every team he was on)? It really hasn't limited ANY team he's been on. The Celtics were 2 games(and a couple of missed Pierce Free throws) away from facing the Lakers in the finals in '02 and what happens? The team is sold AND the new Owners get a GM who promptly blows the team up for selfish reasons instead of building on what it had 'cause that team in '02 was a pretty solid defensive squad. It didn't really limit Dallas since they never played any defense to begin with. All those complaints were just sour grapes by Mavericks fans who watched Dirk, Finley, and Nash CHOKE down the stretch and use Walker as the convenient scapegoat. Atlanta wasn't limited 'cause well.....it wasn't that GOOD of a team though this years team is slightly better.... And It WON'T limit the Heat, that's for sure. As evidenced by last night when he went 5-12 for 13 points...One of the writers for the South-Sentinal newspapers in Miami said it best : "The rout was so great that Walker missed his first 5 shots....and no one noticed."
  10. Quote: Al has become a much better ballhandler than Toine. He shakes his defender off with a crossover on a regular basis and knocks a jumper on them. He improved a lot in the offseason. He is shooting better FG%, 3PT%, and FT%, getting 5 pts and 2 boards more than toine per game (in 8 more minutes), more assists, twice the steals. Excuse me while I at THAT! I've seen how Al handles the ball and granted, he *has* gotten eons better than he was earlier in his career which is a testament to his coaches and of course to himself. But that said, He doesn't handle the rock with such ease as Antoine does. Al still looks like he's forcing the ball up the court a bit(nothing very fluid about his handling and dribbling of the ball) and looks somewhat awkward. Walker, on the other hand, looks like the ball is attached to his hand when he leads the fastbreak, sets the offense, or just plain goes out and tries to score(note, I said "tries"...lol). There are those that are naturally-gifted ballhandlers(Toine) and there are those that work at it(Harrington). That's all. Edit : One more thing......Walker has averaged no less than 7 Rebounds a game for his ENTIRE CAREER and he's pretty much doing the same this year. Sorry...Al is doing great but to say he's a better rebounder than Antoine? That's ridiculous....
  11. Quote: Quote: Walker is 29, Actually.... And Harrington isn't as good a ballhandler and rebounder as Antoine. He's definitely a better scorer...and is about even in Defense with Walker....but that's it. The biggest difference between the two is attitude. And I guess you're saying Walker has a worse attitude than Al. Personally, I think they're both even in that regard. But you also have to realize they come from completely-different basketball-scenarios. Walker came from an environment where he was the man on a struggling(to be nice) franchise looking to restore former glory after the devastating loss of Bias, then became the #2 guy(behind Pierce) and was featured for about 9 years on that team... Harrington, on the other hand, has had the luxury of being on an already-playoff-calibre team upon arrival to the Pacers and has had the VETERAN(Antonio Davis) looking out for him and be a positive influence(something Antoine never had unless you call Dino Radja, David Wesley, or even Rick f'n Fox "positive" influences). Both want to win games(which is why I suggested they are both even in "attitude"), though I do think Al is a bit TOO LAID BACK as opposed to Walker's passion and desire to win games at all costs(even to the detriment of his own team, naturally).
  12. Quote: They talked about how much of a retard you were. Check the first line of the first post. I have posted it twice already. No need to be rude and call me names, man.
  13. What About Miami? You want a serviceable big man in Doleac in exchange? the miami bench could use some more offensive firepower which Delk provides....
  14. Exodus, you *do* realize that Curry is a Knick now, right?
  15. Walker is 29, Actually.... And Harrington isn't as good a ballhandler and rebounder as Antoine. He's definitely a better scorer...and is about even in Defense with Walker....but that's it.
