  1. Now that we have our pg, lets see if we can get a big for AL like bierdens and maybe ellis.
  2. Unless im trippen they have 6 players listed over 6'10. Like you said we could use one of those (bierdens) and ellis as well. Here is ellis's final 20 games.....stats arent bad at all....showed some progress. http://www.realgm.com/src_playerfile.php?playerid=1118
  3. Everyone get your golden state trades together now since we beat the indiana pacer scenarios to death
  4. Hell Id take Granger, Tinsley and a pick for AL. Indiana will probably make the playoffs next year so the pick wont be too high plus we could use tinsley for however long he can last and play granger behind the guys we have now OR if hes better then what we have, its leverage to trade someone thats already on the team. Not like the pacers are hurting for forwards, especially after the draft. If we were to get anything from the Pacers id hope granger is included.
  5. I agree for the most part. They are a playoff team if they lose nothing else (FA wise) and add AL. So draft picks I dont think would be worth that much to us. I was thinking maybe granger (then package him with someone else and get something) and some picks....but in the end I think AL would hopefully fetch us something better from somewhere else.
  6. (Excerpt from Real GM) Meanwhile, Sund said he would not address the contract extension possibilities of either Luke Ridnour or Nick Collison until September. Doing so earlier, he said, would not be logical. Sund said the Sonics want to determine the future of restricted free agent Chris Wilcox and see what trades come the team’s way before committing to extending the contracts of Ridnour or Collison, both of whom are nearing the end of their rookie deals.
  7. I just wanted to ask you guys if Ridnour and salary (fortson, collison) might be available for AL? AL with Shard (who wants to resign with them), Allen, petro, swift and watson would be a nice lil team for them. I know they are trying to cut salary so not eat Fortsons contract for them (yes i know hes fat and 6'8 but he could actually get some minutes here.) And maybe even throw Collison (big man who has low post game, rebounds well, passes well and can run the floor). Obviously ridnour would be the prize but the other 2 could be servicable to us. Instead of going for someone elses garbage (crawford and the weak FA pg class) why not try for guys like ridnour (listed at 6'2). His assist, steal numbers with a good stroke and height we could use. Ridnour with Joe in the backcourt? * any takers on duhon as well?
  8. I would love west as well champ. His assist to turnover ratio is outstanding. What do you think about AL to philly, AIverson to boston and maybe something like west, pick and a contract to us? *might need to throw in something else to philly
  9. Pete what do you want to happen next? In reguards to finding a guard. Knight said that he wanted someone with size, who can run and shoot. And like someone said on here earlier, good luck with that. Shame that we couldnt get Jack last year (beat out by portland) and this year we couldnt purchse the suns pick and take on brian grant to get rondo, williams or lowry etc. I dont know about billy's excuse today about phoenix wouldnt want to ship the pick to us blah blah blah. All I know is BK didnt freaking anti up again this year.
  10. DJ thats what happends when someone has you by the nuts aka knows what you are going to do. They can play mind games like that. Good thing teams dont draft just to f8ck other teams over....I think (lol).
  11. Amen sir. On the points about the situation as a whole. Yeah maybe the hawks dodge the bullet with shelden but the way they went about it will catch up to them now or in the end. For me its kinda hard to see the bright side of the whole gm/ownership thing. The jury is still out on billy knight but then again will the hawks fans be any happier with bringing someone else in AGAIN if belkin takes over. Its like a circus right now, no matter how you slice it.
  12. Texas thanks for chiming in on that. I agree with you and the evidence is just too much not to think the promise went down.
  13. I think they are to play some of the interview again (in a few) with billy knight if some of yall didnt hear it. This is according to the monsters of the mid day show
  14. Any thoughts guys on where our pg will come from? I dont see anything in free agency that appeals to me. Next years draft is most likely a wash (barring any other trade) because of the phoenix trade and even if we hit the top 3 I dont see a pg highly reguarded enough for that pick. So I think its gotta come down to al and something else we have already to get someone in here. Any "realistic" possibilites you guys?
  15. OH I agee DJ the draft has passed and it is what it is. I just dont think you operate that way again (if that is indeed what happend). Even if we dodge a bullet with this pick I dont think you use that method again next year (if that what allegedly went down). Much like you dont publicly come out and say that "you take the best player" (like we did last year) and all of a sudden you go against your own theory the follwing year and draft for need. Questionable methods imo.
  16. Do you think Billy knight would actually be stupid enough to publicly come out say he promised shelden at #5? Obviously Knight gives a damn what the fans (who can be critics too) think because if he didnt he wouldnt try to massage what the hell is going on with this team today on radio. Today was an explanation on what the hawks have done up to this point and in the draft and also an attempt to make the hawks fans feel good about whats going on. So to say he doesnt give a damn what anyone thinks is stupid. You forget critics are not just the media.
  17. Lets say if knight actually "did do it".....would he ever come out and say I made a promise to shelden williams at #5? I dont think he would cause that would be a pr nightmare. Outlets such as draft express nailing the hawks draft (1st and 2nd), the dropouts of workouts by shelden (for no reason), and shelden saying that his friend put that out there (you know you would tell your boys and family about one of the greatest momments in your life in getting a promise to get drafted) are just a few clues that I beleive that this went down. And yeah the draft is over but I just dont think they should have locked themselves into anything at #5.
  18. Skaughty I thought it was a damn good segment. The hosts asked everything I thought that I wanted to know and the callers wernt patting him on the back. I mean Billy knight had to put a positive spin on things but its gonna be real interesting to see what happends. What did you think?
  19. Good interview thus far. I think its pretty apparent a promise was made even though Knight denies it. Hometeam and Dimino asked do you think its dumb to do gurantee a player knowing things could change....and knight said didnt think it was. Then they have some refrence about asking a girl to prom 2 weeks early and finding someone better later and kicking yourself and billy knight something to the effect of maybe you like the first one better. I dont expect knight to come out and admit anything but at the end of the day I think it probably wasnt the smartest thing to promise anyone anything. Drafts express's comments today on how the hawks are transparent in what they do seems to be accurate.
  20. And get beat off the dribble by quicker guards
  21. Speed, someone who can shoot, and natural pg at 6'6? He wont be at #33 thats for sure. If you just wanted speed take dee brown....but the hawks already have lue and salim. But they are all around 6 foot. A legit point at 6'6 ill take at #33.
  22. We also have Edwards and Batista and in NO way am I saying they are everything we need but I think you can only fill so many holes every season. If we can get one big (williams), one pg/sg (Head), and a legit pg (collins)who can probably defend 3 positions, I think that would be a pretty good draft. I dunno im just skeptical on taking a big man in the 2nd round this year. I just dont know what kind of playing time would be available (for a project big) if we bring back last years guys plus Shelden and Anderson (potentially) but minus AL. Id rather take a senior who is a natural point and can create offensive(overpowering smaller guards) mismatches and can guard 3 positions. I was thinking of just matching him up with salim and lue...but he can also be inserted to play with head and Joe as well.
  23. PG Head/Lue/Ivey/Collins SG Johnson/Salim SF Smith/Childress PF Marvin/Anderson (If he comes over) C ZaZa/Shelden * Clearly people are interchangable at different positions. I hope atlanta can pick up Mardy Collins (at #33) a 6'6 pg from temple who can come off the bench and play with salim. Not only is he a pg but he can also guard opposing sg's and sf's. His perimeter shot needs to improve and Im not gonna pretend to know if it will or not. If you are choosing at #33 there are gonna be some holes with any player available. If available I think it would be a nice value for us. http://www.draftexpress.com/viewprofile.php?p=340# Check the rave review from Coach K and his matchup with Chris Paul the year before last. I think we look pretty good fellas if some things unfold.
  24. Well it looks like David Aldridge was on the right track with the houston atl thing according to draft express. I hope it materializes. Wonder what happends if ATL takes roy at 5 then someone jumps in before 8 and takes shelden. I wouldnt be mad but it would be nice if Head and Shelden could make it to ATL.
  25. To bring in guys who could potentially contribute (Head,8th pick, hopefully a s/t for al) and possibly 2nd rounder who can contribute minutes would be a nice offseason for us.
