  1. Does anyone have a clip of Manu's final layup attempt where he got the phantom call?
  2. hello all. big hawks fan here. i would have to disagree about batista. he played well against a bunch of teams even if he was double teamed. usa didnt really double him, but he pretty much...no definitely torched every person who guarded (remember..1st and 2nd team ALL NBA players guarding him). he even had alley oops on us. he destroyed us in the first half when he was already the main focus of the usa's defensive plan. he's all the way legit even though he is goofy and a bit out of control. he's going to make the hawks looks stupid when he goes off as a banger and 6th or 7th man for the celtics.
  3. Hey you all. I'm a huge hawks fan and Im excited about the upcoming year. What do you all think about Dee Brown and JC Navarro? We could maybe get them on the cheap. Dee Brown is a blur and assist machine and good shooter. I think he just needs to be in the right place to fully blossom as an NBA player. Yall's thoughts?
  4. farmer and garbajosa in front of shelden? shelden's in top 10 rookies on nba.com and deserves it. and marvin is definiteeeely ahead of bynum and ellis and to some extent...luther head. just plain hatin on the hawks...just like jj wont get on the all star team although he should...no brainer.
  5. hola..que dices y saludos desde atlanta-landia. soy gringo pero hablo espanol (yo vivia en mexico, guate, y venezuela por casi 3 anios...como ves?). great to see a fan from uruguay! i love 'el toro' batista and i think he is a great addition. i will try and answer your 4 questions tomorrow. it is already too late for me. see you later!
  6. Hi there. I was wanting to just get one ticket for Tuesday's Hawks-Lakers game. I could go through ticketmaster.com but I thought I would check here first to see if anyone has an extra ticket I could buy? Thanks. Jeremy
  7. i agree. we need to stop hating on the hawks. golden state WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER again have a quarter like that. they couldnt make free throws even for a half and then in the 3rd they are making 3's and horrible junk shots in the lane and they got everrrrry call. davis and fisher are constantly touching and pushing and hacking and they are the best at getting away with it. hawks will be quite improved..just be patient.
  8. harrington is our power forward. noone could guard him last night..especially in first half. he took everyone to school yesterday. AND he was hurt. harrington is the LAST person you trade on this team. we dont need another PF before we get a backup center to pachulia. pachulia was pretty much schooling them yesterday, too. also, notice he was against one of the best rebounding power forwards and one of the best shot blockers (statistically speaking).
  9. Hi there and thanks for your email. I appreciate you looking out for me. hopefully you will be able to make it to the game, but if not, i appreciate you being open to let me buy them from you. If that does come to pass, how could i pay you...with a check or something? talk to you soon have a good monday.
  10. Hi everyone. I unfortunately missed out on the deal Mr. Levenson was giving before Sept. 1st for 10 dollar tix for the Clippers game (I wasnt part of Hawksquawk or RealGM at that time so I didnt know). So, I wanted to check and see if anyone has a tix or two I could buy from you all. That's it for now. Go Hawks.
  11. nicolas, thanks, man! i appreciate the help. ill check real gm and such. take it easy and go hawks!
  12. Hi everyone. I became a member of Hawksquawk after Mr. levenson did his offer to this group for the clippers game. first of all...does anyone know if that offer is still out there? if so, how can i get one or two of the tickets. if not, does anyone have an extra ticket or two that i could buy? i am so looking forward to going to the first game of the season (and many other games of course). im too po' to get pimpin seats in the low 100's normally (im unemployed right now), so that is why i want to try and take advantage of mr. levenson's great offer. thanks.
  13. Quote: he's seeing if he can't get nene first how do we know this? is there any confirmed reports that we are indeed going after nene? even sekou smith aint giving us any inside scoop info.
  14. northcyde---muchas gracias for the nice and thorough insight on the hawks/miami game!! i would love to have been there myself. and how was it that you were at shaq's party? you need to hook a brother up (me)! im still hopeful on salim and j smith. i think that people characterize his off court quietness and his calm demeanor (even after doin' highlight dunks) as a reflection of work ethic and style. i would have to disagree to a large extent. the cat put on 20 lbs this summer. his j has improved from 15-18. he has been in and out of practice and games due to his sprained ankle. the game i saw him this preseason at phillips showed me a guy who is much more confident in his j. i really, really think that we are still going to surprise many people. we have not had any time this preseason when everyone was healthy and playing. we are going through a time of a loss of one of our players...a player that was going to be a part of the 2nd unit mind you. if we get a nene or magloire or somebody with some sense of presence in the middle...i think it will open things up a whole heck of a lot. and once jj gets comfortable in his role and he figures out where everyone's sweet spots are...then we are going to be rollin. i am real big on Zaza..i agree that i think this cat is fo' real. and viva el toro!! this latino is our version of eduardo najera! go hawks.
  15. Good call. Unless Chris Paul is the next Isaiah Thomas or Joe Dumars, then he is big time overrated. He is way too small and his jumper has never impressed me. He did do really well last night, though, so I have to give props to that. I agree with you about Marvin. The coaches are raving about him, you can tell his has the skills to put it down in the near future (despite his not so great summer and preseason), and even Sean May and his ex-teammates gave props to him (and we are talking about folks like Raymond Felton--who I think is better than Chris Paul any day). Also, JJ is a legit point guard. Is he going to fly by Baron Davis and Earl Boykins and Marbury...no. But he can take it to the hoop and he is big enough to be able to pass out of it, strong enough to take a foul and maybe convert a 3 pt play, and he is a legit dribbler. From what I've seen, his turnovers havent been from smaller, quicker guards stealing it from him. It has rather been from player miscommunication as the team is still trying to gel. I agree with everyone concerning Salim. He is gonna turn some freakin' heads fo' sho' with his penetration and 3 pt shooting skills. I still believe in Donta Smith and that he can eventually bring something to the Hawks in the years to come. Just my thoughts. Glad to see other Hawks fans out there.
