Playmaker0017
HotLanta, It isn't ALL offense. Not that I know ANYTHING about the guy, but I know that offense in only the part that sells tickets. Play.
Guest
Detroit seems to be selling tickets pretty well....
Playmaker0017
That was supposed to be part of a reply in another post. But, wasn't Detriot a poor selling stadium this year? Play.
Guest
It was when we played them.Detroit averaged almost 19,000 last year.
Playmaker0017
Well, as you well know -- money isn't in the fans in the stands. It's beer money and television spots. Sports are falling down. Basketball is chief among them. Come on LeBron, save us all... because MJ is gone. Kobe is a snot. You must save basketball. Whatever! He's 18. Guest
Well JT/SAR and Dion are 25 and nobody still cares about them. "Sports are falling down. Basketball is chief among them." Actually, baseball is doing worse I think.
Playmaker0017
The only sport that does fine is college football. You never hear of a university having a football program that LOSES money! Heh. The owners should just collude and get it over with. Set maximum salaries and be done with it. Get sued and then keep on doing it. It isn't the age that makes people care -- it is the unknown factor. The league NEEDS LeBron James. Because no one cares for all these thugs and idiots. MJ was one of the last of the greats, who had a decent off the court personality. Play.
Guest
MJ was one of the last of the greats, who had a decent off the court personality." MJ was no saint offcourt. The league is being poorly market.Look at the allstar a event that does draw a decent crowd and they're shows are the YMCA and other groups from the 70's???The league doesn't market toward today's youth the way they needs to. Addition, scoring is down and the finals seem meaning less due to one conference being so much better than the other. How are fans supposed to be intrested? These playoffs have also lacked atmosphere. Baseball dug it's own grave.
Playmaker0017
Hotlanta, MJ was DEFINATELY no saint. His first retirement came because of off the court gambling, according to a friend of mine who works for the league. To avoid punishing him for gambling, they told him to walk away for awhile. Also, I was working a club in Boston when MJ came in. (same day also had Mini-Me) He's a blast... which means he isn't a saint. All sports killed themselves. Basketball could market itself all it wants, but the players and their criminal attitude kills it. Most people don't want to watch people posture after EVERY shot. Play.
